Let me know if what you think of all these products. Are you a buyer? Also, one thing I forgot to mention on the tabletop mega and super , the chipset is wifi and BT capable but they have not turned that one by default. Not exactly sure what they meant by that or how that works , just relaying what I was told.
Is the GameStation Remix console also going to have an SD card slot, like the previous model from 2023? Because, that was hard to tell from your video.
Thanks razor. Not sure if I’ll have any more content as I missed today due to family stuff and work. Usually I take a bunch of footage and string it together for some random stuff to talk about.
I worked CES for about 10 years and I said I'd never step foot in there again. I find myself missing it now so I might just go next year. Love watching the coverage like yours either way.
My arcade is really turning a corner im interested in many of these devices … Rexer well done video … nice overview really gave us a nice look into the devices ….
Oh for sure. Jon is a nice guy and has a great channel. He’s now a My Arcade shill but what can you do. 😂😂😂. It’s not a hobby any more for him so he needs to go for it.
The " Mega" player looks interesting. That said, it is going to have a tough time going against the Arcade1up coutercades, and other units in the $200 price range.
Atari remix looks like a nice upgrade. Definitely would like to see opinions on the controls themselves once available. Ive got 2600 carts so im still leaning to the atari 2600 plus, but i cant deny this package has a lot of value especially when you consider sideloading gamea
They literally looked at me with a blank look when I asked them and then asked me what type should be in it. Then they asked me what type should be in their asteroids player …. And by then I didn’t want to go into detail about how asteroids works but explained to them that I’m sure they are limited to an 8 way in that cheap flight stick.
@@therexershow having authentic controls would be the difference me buying or not buying this product, between the product being a gimmick or actually something worth playing. I can't be the only one who thinks this?
@@alkenstein you are correct. I can tell you there won’t be leaf style joysticks in the pac mans , they will be microswitch joysticks. Not a deal breaker for most. But they will still need to feel good and work well. I personally don’t want to play asteroids with a flight stick , but might be a fun gimmick for a while.
Do you happen to know the screen size of the super tabletop countercade? Also which one is closest in size to the current Arcade1up countercades? I love countercades and will be picking up one of the two models.
10.1 inch screen size. It’s been a while since I’ve seen a 1up countercade and I recall that they made a couple different versions but I’m going to say the mega is probably the same size.
Rexer, Really great coverage of the new My Arcade products! Pretty impressed with their Mega Atari cab with the 10 inch screen and their Pole Position with the steering wheel (interested to find out if they'll keep all the original branding on the signs in the game). But I think what I'm most excited about is the "Switch-Like" handheld. Now I'm not much into handheld's, because these older eyes have an issue seeing smaller screens, even though they are coming with a good sized 7" screen, but I'm SO EXCITED with the trackball and paddle controller AND they show THE BEST version of Warlords on the screen, the Atari 2600 version! Now the main reason I would consider this handheld, or the Mega tabletop, is if they had online play, because Warlords is only great when you have 4 players competing. Now I don't have 4 friends like most people, so I really need that online component to make this worth it. I already have a paddle controller solution to play the greatest Atari 2600 game of all time, Breakout, so Warlords with 4 players makes this most compelling, unless these all came with the new Recharged collection of games and the Atari 50th collection with all the interviews and huge collection of games and Easter Eggs. In any case, it looks to be an exciting time for My Arcade. Thanks again for taking the time to share all the goodness! vgv
Some nice stuff coming from my arcade that tabletop looks cool, those game station cnsoles are what I would be interested in.The mini galaga and pacman arcades look cool too.Looks like I better start saving my pennies up.
The only way I would consider this would be if it played tempest and missile command and the gameplay was good with the paddle and trackball. I believe you said the paddle wasn’t going to work as a spinner so that is a huge bummer.
It doesn’t currently work as spinner, and I’m not confident it will. But there is time still for them to make adjustments. The trackball seems too small. I think I would rather have had a 2 inch trackball and smaller spinner or paddle.
Quick and to the point. Probably wouldnt but any of these but some would make cool desk crap. Pole position was probably my favorite. Led Blinky like rgb on the my arcade is a nice feature.
Pretty much, then they asked me what joystick should be in the Asteroids player that currently had the flight stick in it, and I just gave up at that point , didn't want to explain the game mechanics , and just told them, i'm pretty sure you're only options are a 8 way cheap stick from what i'm looking at on it now.
Micro Arcades. You should do a video on the Home Dance Dance Revolution micro arcade that's coming out in 2024...plenty of videos from the manufacturer out there in Japan
If they use the SAME user interface, appearance, play action as the Atari 50th anniversary Nintendo Switch game with history videos and an ability to somehow download the remastered games that would be AMAZING!!!! Or at least be able to buy a flash drive update with 5600 & 7800 games. Man can’t wait. This is going to be the Turboman Doll for all the Nerds & Geeks Christmas 2024!!!!
I’m confident you be able to side load the 5600 and 7800. As for the matching the 50 anniversary UI on the switch and other consoles , I’m not so confident. Time will tell.
(loads up youtube) Hey look, Jon has another video for u.... Wait that's not Jon's voice! (looks at channel) Not GxG, though as you point out Jon *is* in the video 😂Good to have another channel in my recommendations talking about these new units from MyArcade. I picked up a Gamestation Pro last month at Costco and even bought one for a friend. I will probably pick up one of those new gamepads for it. I am definitely interested in a couple of those new players- we'll see how the release versions are. I do like how MyArcade takes input from you and Jon, and by extension us.
They really do listen . I’ve been to their booth every year for I think 5 years and they remember me and even give me their cards and answer my emails and questions. They never ask for promotion either.
It would not make sense to have a paddle controller that could not also be a spinner. Original Atari paddles had limited movement because they used a potentiometer that could not turn a full circle. Modern hardware has no such limitation.
I don’t disagree. Seems like it doesn’t make sense. Maybe the don’t understand emulation “mouse” settings that have features that “stop” the polling or allow for “continuous” polling . I don’t know. Seems simple to make work. I think they may figure it out. They have 9 months before it’s out.
Thanks Rexer! I really like their GameStation Pro, I have two. The Mega Player is hot as is the Pole Position offerings, I really think they are making strides to improve. The Gamestation Pro has a Rockchip 3032, so my guess is a RK3328 which is the common SBC in Atgames ALU, Core, ect, its a pretty good one too.
It's amazing to me that it's been a whole year and you still can't get the name right. You try to review and/or fill viewers in on products and can't get the product name right?
Is it on the same people who bought the Gamestation pro doing the upgrade? Or you think there some new buyers for that new product? I think there will be new buyers for the Megacade tabletop. It's kind of a different audience they are going after IMO.
