    First of all, I want to thank the author of the channel for making this beautiful and useful video for us! Many people are embarrassed to speak a foreign language if they have no speaking skills. People are afraid to hear criticism from others in their address. It all comes from having a psychological complex - to make a mistake. But, after all, he who does nothing is not wrong! In Yuriy Ivantsiv's workshop "Polyglot Notes. Practical tips for learning foreign language" states that we need to talk as much as possible: with yourself, with the mirror, with inanimate objects, with children and with pets. Find an interlocutor in real life or online. Talk without shyness. People won't care how you speak. They understand that you are a foreigner, as long as they understand you. They may even acknowledge your progress in their language and compliment you. However, always be prepared for criticism of your speaking skills. If you have the will to speak, you will gain an interesting interlocutor to consolidate your knowledge. Everyone is strewn with mistakes - don't be afraid to learn from them. As the Latin wisdom says, "walk and thou shalt not go astray". In the book "Polyglot Notes" by Yuriy Ivantsiv an entire chapter is devoted to the development of spoken language. Here you will find many useful tips and each student can choose a technique that suits him or her best! I wish you all the best of luck in your language learning!

      I’ve heard Italians use both, more or less interchangeably. I always thought of “vengo dal” as signifying where one grew up, or originally came from, usually another country, and “sono dal” is where one currently lives. Or possibly, I have it reversed...

    • @altrefrontiere2354
      @altrefrontiere2354 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@gregmbanks "sono dal" or "sono da" don't exist in Italian. It is "Sono di Roma, sono di Milano, sono della Sicilia (or sono Siciliano), etc. And that means where you grew up or live. "Vengo dal" is not very much used when you want to talk about the place you grew up, mostly the region (vengo dalla Campania, vengo dal Sud), sometimes the city (vengo da Milano), but not so common. Better "sono di".

      I recommend starting with a combination of pronouns, conjugations, verbs and listening to phrases or conversations in Italian. To me the key is to learn grammar as I'm learning new words so I know how to apply them. I only been studying for a couple of days and its starting to make sense. I speak Spanish as well so I try to relate the Italian to Spanish. Don't get me wrong, Spanish helps only a little so its not a huge advantage. I also have a notebook where I write everything down by groups so I can practice regularly. In that regard, I'm learning to write in Italian as well.

      Because repetition helps to solidify the word/words in our long term memory. The more we repeat something the more it gets solidified in the long term memory bank and more likely it is to become knowledge.

    • @Federicoghelli22
      @Federicoghelli22 5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      "Vorrei una tazza di tè, grazie"
      "Per favore, potrebbe portarmi una tazza di tè ( potrebbe portarmi una tazza di tè, per favore? ) "
      There are many ways of using "per favore" and "grazie" and for proposing phrases. For examples: "Vorrei una tazza di tè, per favore" may become "Prendo una tazza di tè, per favore" or "Vorrei ordinare una tazza di tè, per favore" . "Vorrei" is "I would like" ; "Prendo" is "I'll take" ; "Vorrei ordinare" is "I would like to order" . At the end of the phrases, you could use " per piacere" or "per cortesia" instead of the usual "per favore" . E.G. : "Vorrei ordinare una tazza di tè, per piacere" ; "Per cortesia, potrebbe portarmi una tazza di tè? "
      Have a good day and sorry for any mistakes😀

      Why don't you try italki if you're looking for a tutor? Otherwise learn some phrases first, then start comsuming a lot of content in Italian. You gotta LIKE it, that's very important. Then work through a textbook or talk to a tutor. That should get you up to speed pretty fast.
