This weekend I am uploading "The Complete Orion Camo Guide for Modern Warfare II". Thank you for being patient. I am putting in a lot of work into this guide to ensure it is as in depth as possible. It is going to include the best and most efficient ways to complete each camo challenge in depth. I am also including in depth details on the best ways to level up weapons, which game modes and maps to take advantage of. Specifically, things people have been requesting include: best longshot spots on every map, the fastest ways to complete base 4 challenges and the best order to work in.
I think what is really nice about how they did the camo grind this year is the fact that when a new gun is added, 4 new camos per gun are also added. This was one of the biggest gripes I had with the game for years. Before, once you unlocked all the camos, you just spent the rest of the time unlocking the same camos for different guns, which just wasn't fun or unique. I love that every gun has it's own unique camo unlocks tied to it, and I really, really hope that never goes away in future titles. It gives us more to earn in game without having to spend money, which is always a huge win for us the players.
U will still have to unlock gold then plat and then polytomic and then Orion on the new guns u won’t just get to use it just bc u have it on other guns
@@SiulSC i dont just bc they keep adding weapons doesnt mean you should have to grind all the new ones You earned the camo and should be able to use it
Totally agree with it.. I feel that I was grinding too hard on the last years, and not enjoying the game.. we have two years now, don't need to do it in a single month... don't need to rush for weapon xp glitches, or something.. just play and enjoy the game
I haven’t completed a mastery camo since bo3, but this year I’ve actually been enjoying the grind! I personally like polyatomic more than Orion, but I want it on every gun so Orion is just a benefit in case they update it again to be a bit more noticeable. Overall, this has been the best camo grind that I’ve ever done
I’m 15 weapons away from getting Orion, I wasn’t going for it super hard but once shipment came out I went out of my way to get every single gun gold including the seasonal weapons, then did long shots for maybe like 4 ARs, took a break mid season 2, came back last week and finished out the long shots, this camo grind was fun and chill
I'm glad I've come across this, it hasn't crossed my mind that it wasn't specific in that you need platinum on every weapon class, just 51 weapons. This is probably the best camo progression system we've ever seen
I think the only thing I’ll be skipping is the JOKR launcher. The other launchers aren’t too bad but the JOKR is just ridiculous when I can substitute it for an SMG.
@@Aviator-Chicken You are going to have to either do JOKR or skip all launchers, because you need 51 platinum weapons and the only way to get plat is 4 gold launchers.
@@haydenjelinek3094 if u rly dont wna deal with launchers then at this time of my comment you're going to HVE to get them all gold then u only need to get one platnum launcher nd one polyatomic launcher nd u can substitute the 3 launchers with 3 dlc weapons tht hve been added
Loving the grind, 23 polyatomic left to do, long shots took the longest by far but once you figured the sight lines it became so much easier. Definitely need to pace myself but it’s too damn fun. Good vid btw.
I fully agree, a great range of grinding to have at your disposal and with how long this game's lifespan is and with how enjoyable the core gameplay is, there's no rush and it should be enjoyable😁
Usually i would buy a game a few weeks after it comes out to see if it was good but mwII had the best launch in cod history paired with insanely good camo system I bought it so fast
I agree with this, other than the long shots which i hated, it was super fun and easy. Specifically getting polyatomic, getting to play with all these guns again made me find the weapons i really do enjoy and i had a lot of fun. Only took me 7 days of play time.
I did get everything from base game done. However, I am going to do the dlc guns polyatomic and do 1 launcher in order to get Orion. I like this system alot it’s amazing
You’ll need that launcher platinum still. Meaning you need all 4 gold still. For what you’re trying to do you have to wait till the mid season update for more DLC guns
This is my first camo grind and I’ve decided to start with snipers, launchers, battle rifles and melee weapons first…I figured the subs and ars will be super satisfying after grinding everything else.
Its not the destination; its the journey. COD can be get stagnant, and grinding and challenging yourself across different weapons makes you a better and well rounded player.
Just finished platinum on all 51 base weapons, needed this little words of encouragement, great advice Technical. Thanks for putting this out there :) Will be taking my time finishing the "last stretch." Polyatomic on the horizon
@@bizmirc i would had finished the grind last week, but the matchmaking made me take a brake as well. It's really frustrating how the game is designed to fuck up your mood while playing.
Believe me, I know the long-shot struggle. I found it incredibly easy playing tier 1 however. I would back out of any map I knew would be a waste of time. It rewards accuracy / shooting first v.s. TTK weapon meta sweats
This is my first mastery camo I am going for, I have plat launchers, snipers, and marksman will all be play today ( I just need to plat the SPR208 ) it hasn't been all too bad, I am gonna be excited to finish this!
For those who want to do launchers regardless. I got them all leveled up in less than a day just by going to shipment; using decoys, and by the mean of a bit of game sense. For those who got the battle pass too, don’t forget to use your tokens. There multiple token to boost your points by two I believe. 15/30/45/60 minutes.. it’s worth all of them annoying launchers. I can finally focus on smg and marksman rifles :D
I have been playing cod since COD4. COD 4 is the only game where I have ever done the camo grind because gold was pretty attainable and didn’t require a long term alteration of how I played the game. MWII is the first cod since then (15 years ago) that I have felt the desire to do the grind for a few reasons: 1. It is a grind but it seems like a reasonable amount of grind 2. The challenges don’t require a ton of huge alteration of how I play the game e.g. no 100 mounted kills challenges for every gun in a category 3. The mastery camos look cool at every level 4. All the camos you unlock along the way to mastery are also really cool 5. The two year life cycle means I have more time to complete the grind and enjoy the camos after I am finished 6. Almost all of the guns are fun to play with (except rocket launchers. Which is why I got platinum on those before anything else) 7. Screw the JOKR 8. Seriously, I hate the JOKR. But I have it in platinum now
I feel like I have to max out every weapon, and then grind for the orion camo before being able to actually enjoy playing the game casually and then by that time the next game comes out, rinse and repeat insanity.
Tought I was watching someone with 500k or 1M subs, what a good video, chill explain so well and gave me force to go back on the game ! +1 sub amazing man!
I’m working on the shotguns right now I will say shoot house has made the pistols and shotguns a lot easier along with the riot shield and combat knife the launchers are also fun to use on shoot house but everything else won’t be as easy I already have the assault rifles platinum the smgs I’m saving for last and I already have 2 of them gold
New guns don’t actually count towards camo challenges in a way. For example when I was doing snipers I wanted to gold out the new sniper from the battle pass instead of the signal 50 to unlock the plat challenges. Was sad to realize it didn’t count towards plat challenges so my theory is you have to complete all the default guns in the game to unlock the mastery camos.
I'm actually feeling like I'm gona get it for the first time, I never got any of the other mastery camos ever, the closest I ever got was MW2019, but I eventually hit a point with it where I just couldn't bring myself to play anymore, it just felt too unachievable and I quit the entire game cuz of it. As someone who hasn't gone real hard on CoD for over a decade, I genuinely feel like I can get the mastery camo this time and not lose my mind over it. I've had a lil frustration getting launchers, melees, and snipers/marksman rifles done cuz I'm just not good with those classes of weapons, but I'm almost done with them, I finished Launchers, Melees, and Snipers, and I have 5/6 Marksman rifles left, but I feel like once I've finally pushed through the marksman rifles that I'm home free and can really enjoy the rest of the grind to Orion.
I started with snipers(fav part of FPS games). About to complete the tac rifles next. I’m getting the more difficult weapon classes first. Any pointers with the tac rifles?? Anything helps I’m terrible with them
I finally got it yesterday and it was a fun grind. I found the launchers, knife, and riot shield to be fun in their own way. It took me 7 days and 14 hours of in game play time, but I'm not too good of a player and SBMM was railing me in the ass lol. I have never gotten the final mastery camo in any cod but this one was feasible and entertaining. I totally agree though, it's worth it for anyone.
It can be harder at times. I guess it’s easier for me to say as I’m still in school and only have the two day weekend off and having to keep grades up may effect accomplishing something like this. Although I have all this in the way I still find some time to chill and play when I can as I already have Platinum SMG’s and I would also say it is well worth it.
Like someone said before, SBMM is what truly makes it difficult if you’re an above average player. ALSO the long shot challenges seem to be more difficult, seems like you have to go to invasion to do them 😢
Hey Wild, would it technically be possible to completely avoid launchers by doing all the 4 new(3 right now since chimera is in season) weapon platinum challenges?
It is possible but you need to complete gold and platinum for the new DLC weapons. As of now this works! It may change in the future, keep in mind there is only 3 DLC guns so far and you need at least 4 to replace launcher. The honey badger is coming within season one as a fourth gun.
The biggest negative for me is the ~1000 longshots needed to get platinum on every gun. Still, only needing 20 or 25 for each weapon instead of 100 or more is a big win.
I'd say yes, what else is there to grind for now that the OG prestige system is gone? The game gets very stale personally when all you do is play the game normally, rank up the meta guns and that's technically it. I love going for the mastery as it gives me purpose and another reason to play there's highs and lows in terms of *cough cough* launchers but it feels rewarding, then when you have the camo you can either just focus on BR, calling card challenges or the big mastery and just chill with friends and play SND or whatever else, sure I don't sit there and grind it out, I take my time and move from gun to gun.
I hate launchers and riot shield, and semi auto guns but I'm still gonna go and do ever gun Base and DLC I'm also going for the "Master Camo Charm" on every gun to
Agreeeeed love this video and this is the best video to every speak on camo grinds the easiest and fastest grind every loved it every call of duty should be like this hands down
Ok... im gonna be honest. Mw2 is the one and ONLY COD game im actually grinding for THE CAMO. Cuz i feel capable of getting it FOR THE FIRST TIME as a casual. And im loving it.
For me it's just something to shoot for. I actually prefer more realistic camos, like the ones already included with most weapons. I really am curious to see if I like platinum though - so my minimum is to unlock platinum on the assault rifles only. We'll see what happens.
Idk if you know but a guy named “Randhile” just finished the mastery grind and got no reward. Obviously, it is not implemented into the game yet. Very curious what it will end up being. Personally I hope it’s an extremely unique operator or exclusive camo for the less than 1% of players that will actually complete that. Calling card and emblem I believe will be standard but a camo or operator would be sick.
So far I'm at 13 or 14 of 51 and that's only counting the ARs and launchers, and two LMGs. Plus I've only just recently started doing the platinum grind about a week or so ago, so it feels like I'm really making good progress and I'm free to not do melee weapons either which is great for me.
I just started grinding the camos and I'm at 21 guns and i still need 30 guns left so far all the camos are easy except for the longshot kills but people told me to do hardcore for longshots which made it 50% faster to do an playing shipment made it easier for the 4 primary camo challenges.
I'm grinding for Orion myself, my only obstacles is the match making and one of my friends that plays warzone religiously spamming invites, prolonging the grind, as of this comment im 29/51 towards polyatomic
Wait so the two new dlc weapons, m13B and the bas-p, if I get those platinum it will count towards the 51 poly atomic challenges and so forth? I can swap them out for 2 other weapons?
I would love to see a change that you can bring your top mastery camos (Orion, dark matter etc.) into other cods to show something more for the hours and hours you put into it.
there’s already a few new weapons, so by next season i would say you won’t even need to do the riot shield or any of the launchers id still do the knife tho it’s fun
Ima just say this. Orion looks better as a mastery camo than Damascus. Why? Because it actually looks like a mastery camo, and is also animated(it was before but it was way too subtle).
So… I did the complete opposite and am trying to unlock orion for the fun of it and each day is a new gun, but I started on launchers and melee so pain is subsiding and fun is beginning
I love sniping I got marksman’s and snipers platinum first and whenever I burn out I just go and snipe for a while and grind some more next time I get on
Base camos are the annoying one. It’s easy to play regularly for gold, camp for platinum, and play shipment for headshots. The obstacle is playing this game for so long
Only have 20 guns left to get polyatomic. (Smgs, lmgs, marksman) the launchers sucked. This is my first time ever getting a mastery camo and I’m glad I was able to make this far.
At this point, I’ll probably just grind shipment when it drops until I’m done Orion and then I’ll probably retire from COD. It’s at a point where I just don’t enjoy the series anymore, how it changed to fit a different mold. Nothing left for the casual gamer to enjoy like the early days of cod.
Thing is having to wait for Mid Dec just to get Orion from finishing guns that aren't Launchers isn't worth the wait for impatient people like me,but to those who are waiting enjoy your time not doing launchers. 💀
Watching your gameplay gets to me because I’m never facing bots.. like ever.. always sweaty lobbies making it harder and harder the more I play. Your lobbies are slow, no kill streaks, bots, no snipers camping lane ways spawn trapping. It’s just not a close comparison and I’m jealous. 4.5 days gameplay and I only at 34 gold with plat launchers
I grinded damascus in mw2019 twice since I lost my first account and I would've gotten orion in just 3 days if only I had the money to buy the game. And since the grind is so much more easy, I can probably finish orion in warzone only. I may take more than a year but what's a challenge without grueling pain and difficulty
For some reason, pistols got the worst of me last night, ironically with the X13. While I was leveling it up, I was getting Chopper Gunners left and right, but once I started the camo challenges, I started getting killed like a fucking puppet. As soon as I finished with it, I just turned off the console for the day.
For me only rocket launcher is such a pain however IT comes dmz which means maybe it is a chance to make exp for them one day. About mastery challenge i dont like IT is wrote for all type weapons Better will be if we get on the category weapon . Like 1000 kill with Orion camo with the shotguns category. For example.
I am not grinding for Orion, I am actually grinding for polyatomic but If I ever get to polyatomic in this cods short lifecycle then I’ll try Orion but I won’t take it as hard
I guarantee you that melee and rocket launchers are required, that wouldn't make sense like the update brought the m13b so you could gotten that done in the specific category. It would makes sense to already have the camo unlocked already if you are done but the gold camo is still locked like in jevs vid.
I don't feel any regret, You are able to say "I unlocked Orion the hardest way possible". And for the mastery challenges after unlocking Orion you must complete the launchers and you'll already have them done.
@@TechnicallyWild yh true. I’m at 42/51 for polyatomic. The challenges have been really fun and enjoyable but for some reason the weapon levelling felt extra frustrating this year. Glad it’s almost over and great video as always
What I’m more worried about is if a new season drops then the camos might completely reset back to the start which means you might have to start all over again I hope that’s not the case
This grind is worth it I’m not gonna lie I’ve almost unlocked gold on everything I only need 2 more LMG’s all ar’s and all smg’s and then I can start doing more platinum challenges which are easy af esp for snipers
Any tips for 3 kills without dying with snipers. Can't seem to get lucky with the lobbies, the enemy players legit play like they walked out of a CDL event
Playing ground war or invasion will help with sniper, massive open maps with lots of players. Bot kills in invasion don't count towards camos but if you learn the enemy spawn points you can get some easy kills. While sniping in these modes try to stay to the outsides and stay hidden if you are getting killed too often. Hopefully this helps, good luck!
Can u compare how fast u got Orion compared to other games. For example I got dm ultra in Cold War in like 3 months and I want to know how long it would take me to get Orion. Is the camo grind longer or shorter this year compared to Cold War? And I’m not talking about difficulty, I’m talking about time

The launchers this cod are actually pretty easy the challenges I got done for gold and plat within 1-2 games it really easy if you farm hard point
@@z-uwu4687 yeah but the biggest challenge is getting double kills with them
The biggest negative for me is the ~1000 longshots needed to get platinum on every gun.
I hate launchers and riot shield, and semi auto guns but I'm still gonna go and do ever gun Base and DLC I'm also going for the "Master Camo Charm" on every gun to
Agreeeeed love this video and this is the best video to every speak on camo grinds the easiest and fastest grind every loved it every call of duty should be like this hands down
wish they made masteries universal to where if you get mastery on a newer cod you can use your old masteries from older cod
Ok... im gonna be honest. Mw2 is the one and ONLY COD game im actually grinding for THE CAMO. Cuz i feel capable of getting it FOR THE FIRST TIME as a casual. And im loving it.
I really hate the shoot enemies from behind challenge when teammates spawn on you.
How did you go all the way through the Orion grind but yet at 7:13 you just got to 500 operator kills?
Even if you don't like that it looks like dark either the camo can be applyed on any gun after you hit 51 even if the gun is bas p lv 1
There is litteraly nothing left to do in MW2, but grind for orion right now.
Still on the grind omw opening everything gold damn i miss grinding after getting Damascus back in the days
Ima just say this. Orion looks better as a mastery camo than Damascus. Why? Because it actually looks like a mastery camo, and is also animated(it was before but it was way too subtle).
Amen brother! Easy camo challenges for all players. Only complaint about the game is SBMM but hey that’s everyone’s complaint at this point.
The obstacle is playing this game for so long
I was doing it till this update messed up all my maxed out guns and now I got to unlock everything again :/ so maybe not
Only have 20 guns left to get polyatomic. (Smgs, lmgs, marksman) the launchers sucked. This is my first time ever getting a mastery camo and I’m glad I was able to make this far.
how did u level up ur guns so fast?
@@Bochiie I just played hard point and kill confirmed. Also used decoy grenades.
The irony is that this is the first modern warfare that I haven't grinded out any kind of camos
I want to do it again your video helped me tremendously thx sooooo much. It feels great for it to be completed.
Please get ready for the MW3
happy to have commentary videos back
Thing is having to wait for Mid Dec just to get Orion from finishing guns that aren't Launchers isn't worth the wait for impatient people like me,but to those who are waiting enjoy your time not doing launchers. 💀
Working 10 or more hours a day I have on 8 gold guns right now. Wish I had more time to play match after match. I only play three or four a night.
I need the animation of the camo to at least be like how dark matter is. Faster animation speed would look more aesthetically pleasing.
I’m getting the gold camo calling card done as I complete platinums and platinum mastery card done while doing poly to make it easier later
I am glad that I didn’t get everything gold until right before tier 1 came out so I don’t have to suffer with longshots
Most underrated cod youtuber I’m surprised you ain’t at 1M yet
Before the update getting smgs, AR’s, battle rifles and shotguns Plat wasn’t even hard u just needed a scope and a silencer now u need EVERYTHING…
4.5 days gameplay and I only at 34 gold with plat launchers
why did yall waste time on launchers you wouldve already had orion
@@MtpMuzik what?
I grinded damascus in mw2019 twice since I lost my first account and I would've gotten orion in just 3 days if only I had the money to buy the game. And since the grind is so much more easy, I can probably finish orion in warzone only. I may take more than a year but what's a challenge without grueling pain and difficulty
For some reason, pistols got the worst of me last night, ironically with the X13. While I was leveling it up, I was getting Chopper Gunners left and right, but once I started the camo challenges, I started getting killed like a fucking puppet. As soon as I finished with it, I just turned off the console for the day.
WOW ! I didn’t think about this , Goodbye RPG , Shield, ect
Thanks you man
For me only rocket launcher is such a pain however IT comes dmz which means maybe it is a chance to make exp for them one day.
About mastery challenge i dont like IT is wrote for all type weapons
Better will be if we get on the category weapon .
Like 1000 kill with Orion camo with the shotguns category. For example.
Rocket launchers are a walk in the park compared to MW2019 and CW.
So i dont have to level up the launchers? as long as i use another weapon in its place?
The joker still haunts my soul for the complete mastery (1000) kills
I am not grinding for Orion, I am actually grinding for polyatomic but If I ever get to polyatomic in this cods short lifecycle then I’ll try Orion but I won’t take it as hard
The only downside is getting the 3 kills without dying 10 times cos ur gonna get put in higher sbmm lobbies
I always use quick fix to help with that third kill
I guarantee you that melee and rocket launchers are required, that wouldn't make sense like the update brought the m13b so you could gotten that done in the specific category. It would makes sense to already have the camo unlocked already if you are done but the gold camo is still locked like in jevs vid.
Some people got platinum on the DLC weapons and got 51/51 progression without doing the melees. It could be changed in the future but for now it works
Dlc sniper didn’t count for me it was my last category so I did dlc one first had to do them all 😢
@@redhawk644 There is a camo bug for tracking. It will still count once it gets patched. Unfortunatly until then there is no work around
hearing that i didnt need to get plat launchers is heartbreaking. the pain i experienced with that jokr
But you do need launcher's and the base weapons for polyatomic correct?
Great vid! Thank you for the advice! :)
What I’m more worried about is if a new season drops then the camos might completely reset back to the start which means you might have to start all over again I hope that’s not the case
Don’t think this has ever been the case so you should be good
This grind is worth it I’m not gonna lie I’ve almost unlocked gold on everything I only need 2 more LMG’s all ar’s and all smg’s and then I can start doing more platinum challenges which are easy af esp for snipers
@@TechnicallyWild thanks
Not gonna lie mastery camos are always worth it imo. Get to use all guns and get a pretty nice camo (most of the time) for doing it
Can u compare how fast u got Orion compared to other games. For example I got dm ultra in Cold War in like 3 months and I want to know how long it would take me to get Orion. Is the camo grind longer or shorter this year compared to Cold War? And I’m not talking about difficulty, I’m talking about time
All in game play time
(First time) Damascus: 6 days
(Second time) Damascus: 4.5 Days
DM Ultra: 4 Days
Atomic: 4.5 Days
Orion: 4.25 Day
@@TechnicallyWild thanks for the comparison👍
@@TechnicallyWild How did you unlock DM Ultra so fast with how vague challenges like “Kills behind cover” were?
Got
Orion In 4 days first time ever grinding camos thank god for shipment I was able to get a gun done within 1 to 2 games
I honestly wish I would thrown my first games and got a negative 200 kd. I like the camo grind but the lobbies I’m in are so difficult.
Im gonna be honest I don’t wanna do the mastery camo because some of the other camos I like using besides gold and plat
