I like this guy. You can tell he’s meticulous. Just little things, like how organized his shop is, how he cleans up and organizes as he is working, etc. Organization and cleanliness says so much about a person and their quality of work as a whole.

I never understood the "making a mess" at work and not cleaning it up immediately. either it gets left till the end of the day, or maybe not at all... I cooked professionally for 24 years. People would wipe whatever was on their work station, right onto the floor. Instead if moving their trash can 5 feet to wipe it into, or into their hand to throw out in the trash. Before it was mandatory I would make a small container of Sanitizing solution. One for the table and such, and one for utensils and my knives... Spotless, all day, every day... I used to tell guys "I dont want to know what your prep list consisted of by looking at your floor or table... lol

Should check with Cleetus, he's probably got a ton of parts that have come off of Mullet from the last few years as he's gradually changed the El Camino into a full blown racecar that would fit your wifes car here.

@@djwilliams4714 the 1978-1987 El Camino model years based on the GM G-body platform.
The G-bodies were some of the last cars to follow the front-engine, large V8 and rear-wheel drive muscle car formula, remaining popular while most mid-sized cars moved to front-wheel drive. They were also among the last production-based vehicles raced in NASCAR (and competitively, with the Buick Regal in particular dominating many races in its time). NASCAR regulations continued to stipulate production body parts until 2003

It's nice to see a successful race car guy who is still a hot rodder at heart, and who wants to build a car just for the fun of it - a guy who is interested in more than just profit, and who gets excited about a project that is way beneath his capabilities., just because it's cool. More people like Steve Morris would be a great benefit to this country, and this world. Can't wait to see the end result.

That is a real intelligent solution. Use the fast forward cursor, really! By the time it takes you to jump back and forth to ensure that you do not miss any content you may as well leave well enough alone and watch the promo! Defeats the purpose of Premium TH-cam.
As for promoting his merchandise, it is typically at the end on his videos and really short. One can simply terminate the video.

Steve please save those bucket seats they are awesome I truly love this Malibu. My father had a 79 with the 6 cylinder and it was like a metallic baby blue and grown up I always asked him to fix it up that day never came. But that metallic gunmetal gray with that red interior and those two tones seats just awesome please don't change the seats if for some reason they're unsafe please try to transfer that same look onto another set they just go with the idea that you have for that build.

Plus they usually have a semester or two of worth of time as they slowly go through the process.

Steve, it’s been a year or so since I did the 8.50 cage in my G-Body Malibu, but I’m
Pretty sure that cage is going to need a dash bar and lateral supports off the main hoop under the harness bar. Great looking ride, you should look into boxing in the frame with the Hellwig Frame FX kit. It did wonders for stiffening up the flimsy frame under those cars.

    • @misterquintus
      @misterquintus 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +5

Dash bar isn't required on a stock Firewall car at 8.50, Lateral Supports ("D" bars) are only required if the main hoop is on plates not the frame .

Love the build I raced almost the exact same car for a few years. The only thing I would change is swap in a parallel link kit from the start, I struggled for years trying to get the instant center dialed in until I linked it then it'd run consistently.

The underside looks so clean. Lucky to find something that old in such nice condition. Beautiful find. I also like that you're not installing one of those fancy , schmancy Steve Morris engines in the car. 😁😁😁
Further more, I'd actually like dual Holley 750 carbs.
.......if for nothing else, to frustrate Kyle. 😂😂😂
Seriously, great project. I can't wait for the first pass.

Should have used the TRZ front upper shock mount so can us normal springs and coilovers in the front. Gets better front travel.
