This was their SECOND Grammy. They won Grammys for musical arrangements for this and “Daft Punk Medley”. They won a third Grammy for the cover of “Jolene” they did with Dolly Parton herself. That Grammy was for the vocal performance!

BEST reaction I've seen in ages! I laughed out loud! 😂 Thank you for that! yeah.. Mitch "mean-mugged" us! Avi had a theatrical gift for going what I call "Darkside" and this was the first time Mitch gave it a try! The first time I watched this video I was in bed all relaxed and ready to go to sleep and thought it would be nice to watch a new video by Pentatonix that was a nice, classical piece. When Mitch shot forward with that high note and his mouth in the sneer right in my face I dropped my tablet and literally started scrambling backwards as fast as I could but the wall was in my way! lol I'm surprised that the editor didn't win something for the editing on this video as well! Their first Arrangement /Music Video that got a Grammy was Daft Punk. Scott's friend, Ben Bram, recorded and edited Daft Punk and he won a Grammy for his editing and accepted it along with Pentatonix when they got their Grammy for the arrangement! Ben Bram is the person who told Scott he should get The Trio back together and add a bass and beatboxer, then audition for The Sing Off. That's where Pentatonix began and Ben has been with them since their formation. He is so talented!

Just wow. 1) Someone had to come up with the concept or vision for this video to start. 2-6) Then each person had to learn their audio and performance part, then 7) the camera operator captures it. Finally the 8) video (and audio?) editors get to work to assemble the package. The fans get to enjoy the ensemble's work.
Read somewhere that Avi loved making this video the most, because it only took less than an hour to film it. And Kirstie loved it because of the makeup.

Their video for Royals had a similar conceit, where they were positioned in a vertical line with Mitch in front (as he had the lead), and as each member had a part to sing/perform, they would step to the side into formation, then back into "hiding" in line when they weren't singing. When the holidays are over, you should check it out as it's pretty great.

the editing is not so difficult, but very very kreativ. to synchronize the keyframes to switch the opacity, the scale and the position of the layers to the music is hard work...it works with adobe premiere pro...but.... it's perfectly done in this video.

But please, wait until after the holidays, after you have been to see the dr, to make sure that you don't have any hidden medical conditions, and after you install a seat belt. The thing about this video I like and what makes it special , is of course their performance, but how the song saves this video... If you dubbed over some heavy metal or punk or something in a minor key, how scary this video would look. All black, their serious faces, Mitches scowl, their outfits, especially Avi's, it all looks very Goth. the editing is not so difficult, but very very kreativ. to synchronize the keyframes to switch the opacity, the scale and the position of the layers to the music is hard work...it works with adobe premiere pro...but.... it's perfectly done in this video.

The thing about this video I like and what makes it special , is of course their performance, but how the song saves this video... If you dubbed over some heavy metal or punk or something in a minor key, how scary this video would look. All black, their serious faces, Mitches scowl, their outfits, especially Avi's, it all looks very Goth. I think you would greatly enjoy some of Home Free's, Voice Play, or Voctave's Christmas music as well. Yep giddy!
