BILLY THE KID: Matt and his assistant Frankie set out on the trail of a gang of cattle rustlers led by one of the West's youngest and most notorious outlaws, William Bonney, aka Billy the Kid.
This is a great retelling of the final days of Billy the Kid.
Matt and Frankie sure had good chemistry together. One of the things that made this such a great show. I always enjoyed their bantering back in the day. Now that I can watch them again 65 plus years later they're better than ever.
The cattle scene is from "angel and the bad man". I am watching it on DVD as I'm watching this. Almost perfect timing.

I always try to guess who's playing the main role of the criminal I think this was Richard Jaeckel playing the part of Billy the kid. Will wait & see , Sure think it is tho, I just got a better look at him , and it is Richard ! He played in many westerns. Usually that of the bad guy. Thanks Pizza Flix for another episode of Stories of the Century , I love these shows !
Yeah he played Eddie in "The Gunfighter" 1950 Gregory Peck.
Well done story of the death of Billy the Kid. I am particularly intrigued by the evidence of a female railroad detective in those days.
Exactly when did she change from the saloon girl dress she was wearing when Billy took her with him into that fancy satin gown she is wearing at the end of the show? I don't remember Billy giving her the chance to gather her luggage before they rode out.

In most of the accepted versions of Bonney's death Garrett was laying in wait in the bedroom and effectively executed the Kid. In peoples' minds Garrett gradually (and inexplicably) became the bad guy because "he never gave the Kid a chance". Oh the poor little murdering psychopath. Good. Dead. Move on.
Absolute rubbish.
