There's a good Canadian movie, "Harry Tracy," with Bruce Dern in the title role. Not much resemblance to this version of the story. Harry Tracy was one of the Hole in the Wall Gang.
That movie is almost completely inaccurate and he occasionally teamed up and rode with the hole in the wall gang but was never a true member. There is so much mystery around Tracy, alot of people don't even know that Tracy and Merrill actually switched places at one point as they looked similar after meeting in prison. Many believe the real Tracy served out his time in jail and returned home, while it was Merrill who took on the name Tracy and it was Merrill who was killed in the shootout. We still have a few letters Uncle Harry sent to his sister floating around, family heirlooms now.
You do realize how inaccurate this movie is right? As far as outlaws go the real Tracy was very complex and often known for being a gentleman especially to women and children. Compared to some outlaws Tracy was by far not the worst. Now when Merrill took over Tracy's name that is when things got weird.

A very good episode of "Stories of the Century" with Jim Davis and Mary Castle. Steve Brodie did well in the role of Harry Tracy.
