Dear Mr. Willie. I answered your answer to my comment but I guess you won't see it, because utube changed a lot some months ago. No notification for getting an answer any longer. Only if one hits the thumbs up button, a notification will come.(but unfortunately sometimes only after a lot of hours or even days). Please be so kind and read my answer in the comment section. Thanks. I sometimes find bottles lying on the surface with the most minuscule chips or damage and it baffles me why anyone would leave them lying there. It only takes a little while and a little care to make them displayable - well worth the minutes/hours of work to have something in your collection for the rest of your life. Willie :)
Had to giggle when you referred to Gordon Ramsay's pans!!!!! Your humor is so great and I don't know how you come up with the things you say so easily😆😆. Another great bunch of finds and I really thought the swirled bottle was so great. Never seen one before.
Thanks Kimberly - very kind words. To be honest, I just talk nonsense most of the time! What you see on film is only a fraction of the daftness that goes on in my head! Haha! Definitely another lucky dig - and I agree - the swirly bottle is a beauty. Willie :)
Love to watch along as you your spectacular finds. I enjoy all the history that you share. Also, I just want to say how much I appreciate that you fill in your holes. I love that you leave your beautiful woods as you found them.
Thanks Cindi - I'm glad you enjoy the videos, and also take the time to comment. I like to leave the place in a neater state than I find it. I hope that eventually the wood has no trace of broken glass or ceramic on the surface. Willie :)
So glad I found yours and Sarah's channels. So nice to loose myself in your music and scenery and birdsong and dancing and painting and Jack. Bless you both.
When I started watching your Chanel I always sang along. Now I not only sing along, you've got me doing the arm movements too! So your show is now part of my physical therapy. Win win! Thanks.

Thanks Willie for taking me with you today. Tom Burleigh found his first no spill ink on today's video too. I love all the bubbles in the first double pen rest ink well. All kinds of lovelies you dug out of the rocks and dirt today. Have an awesome week!
Thanks Debbie - glad you enjoyed the video. Those ink wells are great, but cleaning them is almost impossible! :) Hope you have an awesome week too! Willie :)

Magnificent finds today!!! So many, hard to choose the favorite. I guess the best is the small stoneware pot, the swirly bottle and the lovely white with green leaf jug. Great job Willie! 👍🥰🐕🇺🇸
Hi Guadalupe - lovely to hear from you! Some real belters in this episode, for sure! A fun dig too - if a lot of hard work..! Glad you enjoyed viewing. Willie :)
Glad to know you are feeling better Willie. This was a great video! I love the wee stoneware pot and the no spill ink the best. The colours of the bottles all cleaned are beautiful. Your videos make me smile and I look forward to them each wee. Wonderful repair on the poison. Thank you for sharing and have a great week. Keep safe! 🇨🇦
Thanks Diann - nice to feel better too. :) Very happy that you enjoyed another adventure - some very lucky finds made! It's nice to hear that you and others look forward to these little adventures each week - makes them worthwhile. You have a great week too. Willie :)
Such lovely finds from the woodlands and the bird song was so nice too! Funnily enough Tom Burleigh just found a non spill ink too :) Great repair job on the poison, thanks for sharing ! Nicole & Craig
Thanks Nicole and Greg - the birdsong can be very loud at times - bouncing around between the trees. It becomes like a sort of chant, that can be quite overwhelming - but in a good way, if that makes sense?! Kind of like a woodland cathedral or similar. I'll check out the video that you mentioned - thanks. Glad you liked to see the wee repair job too. Willie :)
Hi Sue - I'd love to, but I do try to keep a bit of a low profile - hence the camouflage gear. I don't think a bright red kilt would help me too much there..! Maybe in a future detecting video though... Willie :)
Great video, definitely worth the effort and work… both there and behind the scenes. Love the ale pitcher. Sarah’s video was at Culross and coal mining history, how cool you found an item relating to coal! History bit well done. Don’t think I could pass the riddle rhyme sobriety test affront that fine draught of Ale 😵💫 Belter alley👍👍 Rubble alley 👎😂. Made the green poison respectable again. Cool spittoon and no spill ink, unique finds under the rubble. Good show. See you next time Willie…✌️
Thanks Greg! Honestly - we didn't even put those two things together! I just turned to Sarah and read your comment aloud about the coal connection and she thought it was cool too. Very observant! Always a pleasure to put these videos together when they're being appreciated. Hopefully my next visit to Rubble Alley will be LESS productive! :) Take care - see you next time. Willie :)
I loved this video! I am crazy for pottery, especially the ginger jar and the little Carmel colored beauty! I would never let that go if I were you! I think Scotland must have the best craftsmen because ya’ll have the most gorgeous bottles and ones I have never seen on the English tips or here in America! Great work!
@@dirtysecretsofscotland yayyyyyy! I’m actually coming to London in two weeks to do a bit of mudlarking, and I can’t wait! I have my permit, and I’m ready to get muddy. Maybe I’ll be doing my own version of the belter boogie!
Fantastic! You’ll have such a great time! My old favourite spot is in Wapping, near the river police station. Lots of erosion there, or there was when I used to lark there. The pubs are great too. Check out the Captain Kidd and the Prospect Of Whitby. 😊
I loved that helter skelter spirally bottle! And the wee brown jar was very cute, the no spill ink is an ingenious idea, must have been murder to clean though lol. Your repair job was brilliant, it just looked flawless. Thanks for another great video 🤗

Thanks Maurilio - Gail and Alex are so nice. Lovely of them to help promote our channel, right when we started out! Glad you're enjoying our channel. A pleasure to share. Willie :)
Thanks Richard - glad you could join us on another adventure. That Belter-Skelter bottle is so unusual. Not sure I'll ever find another one like it. Definitely another lucky dig! Willie :)
You really worked hard for your wonderful finds today Willie! I am happy for you! I love the little stoneware jars. They just remind me of the cream and milk jars that were in cafes and they sat out for customers to use. That was before germs I think because they always put the unused portion back into the refrigerator and added to it as needed. 😁 Please stay safe and be careful! I love watching you and Sarah and Jack! ❤❤
Thanks Mary - and yes - it was hard going, but worthwhile in the end. I love it - before germs! Made me laugh! You stay safe and well too from us 3 at DSoS HQ! Willie :)
Some really nice finds on the tip this video. The pink cream ( for a lady's face) is stunning as the ginger jar. I love the pub pitcher with the quote. Nice.
Thanks Mary - was another fun and lucky adventure! I did wonder if the pink pot was a cosmetics cream. Have you seen a similar one? I couldn't find another one similar online. The beer jug is great - shame it isn't a bit more complete, so I could restore it. Willie :)
Dear @@dirtysecretsofscotland Willie You're welcome, it's my pleasure. Thanks for replying and especially for a heart. I totally appreciate both very much. 2) I do those kind of wordplays for 46 years now (since I was about 13 yo I guess). Therefore I absolutely enjoy it, when the lovely Northern Mudlarking Ladies say stopple bopper! My heart/soul kind of opens up. But when gorgeous Gail and funny Alex don't say it or even do entire videos without wordplays, I'm definitely a bit sad. They also use mod carble sometimes but unfortunately seem not to like my wordplay dottle bump! Sigh... ;-) Sincerely yours. Christian
Thanks Christian - always nice to hear what makes others happy out there! Sorry for the delay in my response - we do get a lot of comments to reply to - which is really great! However, we also have extremely busy schedules, so we must prioritise making the content and videos, and answer everyone when we get the chance to - I hope you understand this. John Lennon loved his wordplay too. I think his main influence was Spike Milligan - an expert on wordplay and a very funny man too! I hope you're having a lovely weekend. Willie :)
What an improvement to your lovely poison bottle lip, how long did the sanding actually take? It’s a delight to watch your videos, your and Sarah’s channels are two of my favourite ones.
Thanks Cynthia - I'm happy with how it turned out in the end. It took around an hour - start to end. A much easier and faster repair than a stoneware, for example. Very happy that both of our channels are bringing you happiness and enjoyment. Willie :)
Love dirty secrets of Scotland.... doing a quick search on vintage pink jugs to help find out about your pink flower vase it turned out to be a pretty fun and funny search😆.... did not find your vase though. Also u should save the bottoms of all of your ❤️ breakers to make a colorful stained glass or a mosaic.
Thanks - very happy you're enjoying the channel! I also struggled to find out any more about the little pink vase. Very unlikely I'll ever find another one of those. That's a fab suggestion for the bottle bases - thanks! I might just do that! Willie :)
@@dirtysecretsofscotland Oh yeah those are so cool! I have seen some on vids, a lot are cracked and broken sadly. Here in the USA, I can't find dumps, they are deeply buried, but be darned I want to find the one my father took me to when I was a child, he used to repurpose nails and such for his work, he was a stone mason by trait. Anyways My goal it to find a good dump and use my metal detectors this year! :)
Aw - too kind! I bet Sarah occasionally would prefer it if I stopped talking! Haha! Orange dye - as in, for my hair? Sarah's got the market covered for that I reckon! ;) Willie :)
Try some UV resin on your glass pieces to see if that helps in your glass repairs, Check it on a piece of glass before you try it on a good piece, It won't feel like glass but it should look like glass. If it works get yourself some UV resin dye if you need to color the glass. Should cut down on having so many sanding steps.
Brill video. Loved it. With the progression from course grit to fine grit I find it difficult to know when to move to the next grit sandpaper? How do you know???

Willie :)
👍👌👏 Big improvement on that lottle bip! Very well done!
Loving the wordplay there! Very Alex (NM's!).
And thanks - it was an enjoyable resto.
Willie :)
Dear @@dirtysecretsofscotland Willie
You're welcome, it's my pleasure.
Sigh... ;-)
Sincerely yours.
Willie :)
Thank you.
Thanks to you too, for watching and commenting. Willie :)
Nice repair job Willie.
Thanks - was fun to do and to film. Willie :)
You make me smile.
Great finds again! Wonderful repair on the poison bottle 😃 x
Thanks Amanda - glad you could join me on another adventure! Glad you liked to see the repair job too. Willie :)
Estou fascinada!!!!
Todas as peças são maravilhosas!!!
Natal/ RN-Brasil.
Found through Northern Mudlarks. Awesome Channel!
Willie :)
very cool dig... i got gifted a local flagon last night :)
Willie :)
Love that little pink jar
Hi Andrea - yes, it's proving very popular. I think it's still available on our Etsy store too. Thought it would've sold right away! Willie :)
Wow so many various inks! I love the stoneware lovely finds!!
Hi Debra - I know, eh! I'm yet to find a cottage ink - that's very high on my bucket list.
Happy days got some great stuff.
Thanks - was a fun dig, with some lovely finds. Willie :)
Good repair job on the poison lip mate
Thanks mate. Nice to save these ones with minor damage - I didn’t have this size in green either.
I was waiting for Sir David Attenborough to begin narrating!
I'd love him to join me on a dig! How cool would that be?! Willie :)
You are just too cute with the dancing. Love it.
Thanks - it's all just a bit of fun. Willie :)
I think the cement thing is a unit of garden edging.
You're not alone in thinking this. Perhaps I'll need to make room in my bag for the next one I find. Willie :)
Thanks so much for making my Sunday so special with all your amazing finds. BTW I LOVE YOUR BELTER DANCES ❤️💗❤️💗❤️💗❤️
Thanks Ruth - that's a lovely comment to read! Glad you can join us on our adventures! Willie :)
fantastic it looks so nice after all of that work
Thanks Robin - always a pleasure to fix these items. Willie :)
Question are you ever sorry you started the absolute belter dance I love the dance but I’m just curious
I'D GIVE MY RIGHT ARM TO GO DIGGING FOR A DAY WITH YA'LL, SADLY I LIVE IN THE STATES :(
Hi Trudy - you never know - DSoS might get picked up by HBO and we can come visit you there! Willie :)
i could listen to you forever. Love the Scottish accent. No orange dye for you?
Aw - too kind! I bet Sarah occasionally would prefer it if I stopped talking! Haha!
Orange dye - as in, for my hair? Sarah's got the market covered for that I reckon! ;) Willie :)
Keep dancin' ma wee man!!
Ha! Thanks John, you know I will! Willie :)
Great video guys . Just wonder if the "helter-skelter" bottle is a fancy milk bottle as cooper and co deffo have cream pots . Only and idea though 🙂
Hi James - that's a possibility, as you're spot on - I have a cream pot from them. Thanks for the suggestion. Willie :)
Thanks - Pam - I'll give this a try. Always willing to try new things to get a good result. Willie :)
The pink looks Deco.
I agree - fits in with the age of the tip too - late Victorian through to early 1930s. Willie :)
is the pink thing a 20s talcum powder shaker type thing. I seem to remember my granny having a similar yellow one. Great vid as always😊
Thanks Nelly - great suggestion - could be exactly that! Glad you enjoyed the adventure. Willie :)
Did you sell the little pink vase ? I would love it if you havnt.
Hi Lynn - I think it's still on the Etsy Store. Sarah hasn't mentioned it selling just yet. Willie :)
Any Hamiltons or Codds bottles in there Will?
Hi Stuart - yes, both. But Codd especially are scarce there. Flat bottomed Hamiltons are less scarce, but usually smashed. Willie :)
Brill video. Loved it. With the progression from course grit to fine grit I find it difficult to know when to move to the next grit sandpaper? How do you know???
Thanks. Once you get it looking fairly well graded, without scratching, move into the next grit. 🙂
Hi there. I'm confused! Sarah calls you Willie & Kleggy calls you John?????
Hi John. Thanks for letting me know. I’m definitely Willie. Not sure if he’s got a his wires crossed there..!
Did you have a cold when you made this?
P.S. Just found out from a DNA test that I'm 23% Scottish! WOO HOO
Hi Cathy - no, I don't think so. Why did you ask?
And excellent! You're one of us! Willie :)
Your voice sounded kind of thick that's all. Excellent vid, tho. Sarah, too
