  • Describe the course and relations of oesophagus?
    Write down the constrictors of esophagus?
    What is the length of esophagus?
    Arterial supply of esophagus?
    Venous drainage of esophagus?
    4 constrictions:
    At the commencement at C6: about 6 inches from the incisor teeth. It is produced by crico-pharyngeus part of inferior constriction of pharynx. (narrowest part of esophagus)
    Opposite the T4: here it is crossed by arch of aorta. It lies 9 inches from the incisor teeth.
    Opposite the T6: here it is crossed by left principal bronchus. 11 inches from the incisor teeth.
    Opposite the T10: at oesophageal opening of the diaphragm, 15-16 inches from the incisor teeth.

    Sir I have a query
    Growing end and nutrient foramina both are in opposite direction in long bone
    But nutrient artery has to supply the growing end (where it form loop like appearance) then why foramina in opposite direction?
    Is it a branch of nutrient artery which supply growing end
