Awesome! Welcome to the club! Getting the Roof and Canopy racks was one of the first things I did to our truck! I've really enjoyed having the extra space for maxtrax /rotopax/RTT. Let me know if you get any wind noise, We get some noise and I think it comes from the side holes that are uncovered....

My first Tacoma was a 2005 Xrunner, that I loved and did track days with, but I have a 2019 Tacoma TRD Off Road that I'm going to do the trail life with!

Highly recommend using the sound strip along the leading edge where it is closest to the cab. Without it, loud as hell. with it, not really any louder than without the rack!

For future reference, a grinder with a cut off wheel will cut that trim easily and leave a good edge.

The consensus is a 3/4 hole punch works best if you want the weatherstripping installed. I just left mine out and nobody is can tell.
You should do a test drive video with that rack. I'd like to hear how loud it is in the cab, if at all. Keep up the great videos.
plaztikrhino i had zero noise with nothing but rack. Very mild noise when i put my box and tred pro and rotopax. It got noisy when i put a double row led bar. Stick with a single row think it would help.

If I had to do this again I would do it differently. I would assemble the side racks onto the roof first before adding the cross members. I would also precut the molding like Max did.

How are the KM3 tyres performing in the rain on the road?
Great Video! You should buy some black weather stripping for the wind deflector otherwise it will scratch your paint, or crack your windshield over time. At high speeds it will rattle and move some.
mark orozco rack is 1.5" away from window. Don't know how you think it will crack the window.

Did you notice any extra wind noise when driving after you added the rack or does that wind guard take away all the noise?

hey man, love your rack and your channel.. So I have been looking into getting a roof rack. It is near impossible to find a rack that fits into the factory holes under that weather strip...
As much as I want to buy a prinsu rack, I am trying to get something a little less expensive. Are there any other racks you came across that will also with with the factory holes... (other than that silly plastic "factory" rack you see on most yotas)

yeah I have done a lot of research since watching your video, just going to do the same thing. But I had a friend at a fab shop just cut me some bars and I have "make shift" made a roof rack attached to the prinsu mounting kit. So once I get the rack, i will have have the mounting equipment installed and ready to go. Thanks for answering!

How well does it work with the sunroof?
Also Max is correct precut the molding and replace before you put the sidemembers in. I did not do that.

How did you quiet in down the rack you you installed it? To get rid of the whistling noise. Great video

I'm looking to get a Prinsu rack for my 2018 ZR2. How has yours held up, any issues with it so far. How much weight can it handle?
Did your roof rust where you removed the tape? I just installed my Prinsu and am freaking out because I realized the metal under the tape is exposed like yours.

Have you had any problems with the A-pillar lights being tampered with by potential thieves? I’m having my Tundra built out at SDHQ and that’s the one thing I’m leery of having installed because of A-holes
I like how SDHQ does their behind the grill lighting. From what I can see, they’d have to remove your entire front fascia and what not to get to anything.
Do you get any wind noise or notice extra drag?
Any reason you didnt just drill holes through the weather stripping and leave it in place? I know it would be a lot more measuring but I feel like it would be a cleaner install.

Question.....I have a Tacoma with a high rise camper shell. Where can I find a roof rack with raised rails to clear the raised camper shell roof and carry a canoe? I can't seem to find what I need. If anyone can help, thanks?
