AHHH thank you!!! Not only do I get to wake up and start my day with a fresh Simon & Martina video but I also get to get some insight into some delicious vegan noms from Tokyo?! Thank you SO much - also thank you to all the people in the comments sharing more vegan places! There are dozens and dozens of places to pick from on Happy Cow but when we go to Tokyo for work we're really pressed for time - I'm going to take so many notes! One of the most stressful things about traveling abroad as a vegan is finding good food and not feeling a tiny bit bitter if you feel like you're missing out on the experience of being out in the world adventuring because it seems all the good vegan food doesn't exist or is hiding - getting little glimpses of good vegan food made from someone who is passionate about their work like this? Its SO encouraging, thank you!
Vegan ramen: we're going for it here in Tokyo. Is it any good, though? How does it compare to regular ramen? Is it worth checking out? We'll let you know in this week's video!
That reminded me so much of Bojack Horseman... "What do celebrities know? Do they know things? Let's find out!" (And I'm pretty sure I quoted wrong, but you get the drift)
I love you guys so much! Had an EDS flare up this last week, but seeing you rocking it all the time, through it all, really gives me inspiration. Oh, and hunger pangs. LOTS of hunger pangs. I really enjoy some vegan things, really glad to see the options out there growing!!
I understand why you wouldn't want to post videos of places you didn't like but I feel like that'd be really informative too. Like it' good to know whats not great and what to look out for ^^ I do love that you're covering some veggie places too! x
Seeing Martina using a cane made me sad at first but I stopped myself. I admire her for going out and making the best out of the situation. Making memories with Simon even though she is going through her pain. You are awesome Martina! Hopefully will meet you one day when you are back in Toronto.
I am not vegan myself, but I have worked in a vegan restaurant so I love it when you guys showcase other vegan/vegetarian places around the world. It also makes me so happy inside to see how polite and caring you are to the people who own and work at these restaurants, because let me tell you! Sooooo many of the customers I would have there were rude, entitled, 'holier than thou' and would treat my coworkers and myself like shit. You guys are always so loving and gives me the fuzzies inside. I also had no idea about the oriental vegetarian diet and not eating the five pungent roots. I have literally never heard of that until now and I find that fascinating. Thank you both for teaching me something new today! Love you Simon and Martina! Thank you for always inspiring me to keep building my ladder!
Wow, vegan ramen and gyoza in Tokyo! That is amazing. I'm so happy you liked it. I definitely have to try that place. Thank you for the tip! Lotta/Lanttimatkat
Was it one of the ones... that didn't make the cut? I ate there Friday and was quite delighted! Also some CoCo Ichiban places do full vegetarian curry! So you could pretend like that's a good reason for another video and dinner session! (I thoroughly enjoyed that too!... the curry. I mean, the video too... Case in Point, hooray veg. stuff!)
Yes guys, test this one, it's amazing! Not sure about the chain. I think there's another one from the same owner (T's restaurant), but I though T's TanTan was the only restaurant of this kind.
Thank you guys for this video. Today I had one of the worst knee pain days I've had since I was injured a year ago. My partner kindly lent me his arm to use as a cane of sorts because I could barely move a couple steps without falling over. I was crying on the bus on the way home because I finally reached the point where I realised this disability is my new reality and it hit me that, how can I ever accomplish my life dream of travelling the world if I can't even make it up the stairs of my own house? Seeing you two push through so much together and not letting the reality of your situation be what stops you from accomplishing your dreams, it really helps me push forward. I love you Simon and Martina, you two are one of the biggest reasons I can wear my hot pink decorated knee brace and still smile about it most days. I'm also a relatively new vegan. This video was perfect. Thank you again ♡ You're really helping me keep my dreams alive.
Simon and Martina I hope the fact that just by being yourselves, you've managed to help people all over the world who you haven't even met (yet), adds another rung to your ladder. Having my senpais tell me I was able to inspire them sure added to mine :3 #buildaladder
One, this looks incredible and I'm so glad you spotlighted it! Two, now I'm super curious about all the deleted sad footage!!! Ah!!! Help us not make your mistakes!!!
My mum's vegetables stir-fry recipe with tofu, mushroom and tofu skin is my favourite but a place that also has good vegan food is the Buhdist temple near my place.
I've been a huge fan of yours for years! It makes me so happy to see you both being more open minded to vegan foods. Your fanbase really appreciates it. Thank you for the hard work!
Yes!!!!! Now I LOVe LOVE all your videos but being vegan this one just touches my heart and well, my tastebuds haha amazing I love that you guys show all different places for every taste!! That's why you guys are the BESt!!!
Simon was actually a vegetarian when I met him and my mom is a pescatarian so we definitely know veggie food. :) But I do think that vegetarian and vegan food has really really improved since back in our day.
I tried vegan food before, and honestly, to find actually a good vegan dishes is not that easy. Some of it tastes even disgusting. So i'm glad, that people being more creative nowadays, and cooks a better quality food for vegans.
I’ve been on a vegan diet for a few weeks to see if it would help with my type 1 diabetes and fibromyalgia and honestly I’m feeling worse. I managed better when I was piscitarian. Gutted this vegan thing didn’t work for me :(
That's a great point, it has generally gotten better in the past few years, at least here in the UK. We're kinda spoiled for choice. If you guys ever make it over this side of the world, I'm so pointing you at some good places to chow down.
I'm so proud of you both. You give your fans such a wide variety of things to watch. I'm so happy to have been a subscriber for a while. Thank you for your content.
I am blown away on how that guy can manage the place by himself!! I work in a take out Chinese restaurant and it feels so busy with 4-5 people working. People coming in, calling, delivery, online orders. I am so freaking impressed by that guy. Hopefully no one is a crappy customer and gives him too much trouble.
THANK YOU for doing another video with vegan stuff in it :D I'm so happy!!! What a treat. I'd love to try this someday but I will probably never travel to Japan so lol
You never know that! One day you might find a reason, a way to get here. And when you do, hopefully you can come to this place and remember this video :D
Its so interesting coming back and watching this video again. I never realize how long I’ve been viewing your videos until I watch a video I thought was from a few months ago is apparently from a few years ago. Also wanted to point out that wow I thought at the time your videos were great but since then you have definitely improved so much (in editing and overall quality). I love you guys so much and hope to continue watching your videos for many more years 😊
It just hit me that yall are so committed to showing the great parts of Japan and expecting excellence by not publishing videos unless they meet your standards. Thank you so much for your hard work even if we don't see it. :)
I'd go there for the delicious vegan foods.....but in winter because no AC is unnecessary.....love all the options!!! by the way...are those KIWI earrings Martina? :D ..great video again you guys!!!!
this is ridiculous, your videos just makes me excited for my graduation trip to Japan :( not my first trip there but I really love Japan overall. thank you for venturing out to find the best food for the viewers and also helping us to understand our food better! Much love from Singapore!! 🙆🏻💕 been enjoying your videos since your days in Korea!
Before when I just started watching your videos, I was such a picky eater and didn't like going out of my comfort zone. But you make every food look awesome and delicious and I've definitely been more adventurous! Thanks, guys! 💛
it's so nice that you don't post videos when you don't like the food! i like that you're keeping it positive and just supporting nice restaurants instead of critiquing bad ones
Definitely Japan. The places here are creatively smaller. And I'm sitting on the floors here more than I did in Korea. And I'm beefier than before and so it's tougher.
"creatively smaller" haha I would assume the ceilings are overall shorter here too. I guess the struggle is real! Try not to lose a limb or give yourself a concussion!
Yes!!! Finally! I've been waiting for you to do a vegetarian/vegan friendly vid in Japan but I remember that you said you were having a hard time finding good quality. Glad you finally one good enough to show to us! 💕
I've been watching your videos since the first eat your sushi, and I just wanted to say that I love all your videos. You guys are amazing, and all your adventures inspire me to go further in life and enjoy more. Thank you for all the dedication you both have
I've been suscribed for some years now it makes me really, REALLY happy when I see you guys go to vegetarian/vegan places and enjoy the food :) as I am a longtime vegetarian/recent vegan. Keep it up guys and lots of love from Mexico!
I absolutely Love your videos y'all! Your part of my top five favorites on TH-cam. Sometimes!es when I'm cooking I just pick a random playlist and just let them play! Thank you for sharing!
It's so cool to see you guys shooting more vegan restaurants! I've been trying to figure out if vegan ramen was even possible and now I'm super stoked to give it a try myself 🤤 Great video!! Simon and Martina: you rock! 🤘
Yay! finally a vegetarian/vegan friendly video! I love your food videos (who am I kidding all of your videos) but when its food I can eat it makes me like 5 times more excited to watch it
I hate heat. I know your pain Simon. I might actually love to try this place because I am allergic to shellfish and hate the taste of fish so this would be a great place for me to try good ramen.
I've actually been doing some vegan cooking at home. Not that I'm going full vegan, but I think cutting back on eating meat 4-5 times a day would be a good thing for me :D
Yummm! I've been waiting for the vegan Ramen video! So glad you finally found one that made the cut. My favorite vegan restaurant is in Winter Park, Florida and it's called Vegan Café. They have the BEST menu filled with yumminess from Summer special Bean Burritos to Hawaiian Pizza. Sooo good!!
OK so like their was the bad Korean toast place, there was the soup dumplings place, the weird squid place with the two British guys. There might be more I don't remember.
Oh my goodness finally! Thank you both for uploading this hehe. One day when I travel with my bf we can go here and eat bc he's Muslim and it's hard to find places like these in a different country. Have a wonderful day my loves 🤗
Thank you so much for posting a video about vegan food!! I've been to Japan before but had a really hard time finding even vegetarian food, so I'm so excited to put this on my to do list!!! There's a place with vegan ramen where I live as well, and it is delicious!
See, I totally want to see footage in places you guys didn't like too. You don't even have to name the restaurants, you could just turn it into a blooper reel!
Thank you for making this video! I love seeing more vegan/vegetarian options in Japan. So thank you for exploring places with different dietary options! Much love
i think you should post the videos on the food places you didnt like on your 2nd channel, so we can know which places to avoid and why!! and great video btw!
Thank you for your recommendation! I am really interested in trying out vegan ramens lately. One of the best I had was from Ippudo New York - the vegetarian ramens actually tasted better than the meat version. I was amazed by how satisfying that could be!
Would you ever do a video telling your worst food experiences? You don't have to say the name of the places if you don't want to, I'd just find it interesting to hear you guys talk negatively once haha
Simon and Martina thank you so much! Definitely will try to make the best of today with friends and lots of cake. :D thank you! Wish I could send you guys some cake too. Haha
Ah, I know. It's sad to see her when she's in pain. But I'm happy - we're happy - that she has a cane that can help her on the days she needs them, so she can keep on having adventures and building her ladder :D
I always have that pang of sadness when I see Martina with a cane or in a sling or even just having her wrist or knee in a brace, but then I see how she is still out doing things she loves to do. It reminds useven though she deals with pain ever day, that she goes out there and lives life and has fun. Build a Ladder!!!
This actually makes me feel hopeful . She is in pain no matter what she does . But she chooses to be out there and explore . Seeing her like that gives me courage to ignore my pain and try to go outside too...
Awesome video! Thanks guys, definitely adding it to my list for next time - been veg for a year and the saddest part has been the loss of ramen choice haha
+Nimet Tree in Japan, we rarely ever eat at a bad place. But most of the times we did were in our search for vegan food. That’s just our experience, though.
Ah I'm so glad you did this video! I've stopped watching your other food videos now as all the close ups of meat and stuff makes me feel really sick :/ but I love your channel and your editing style and I've been around since you were in Korea. Thanks for making one little grass eater very happy :)
I would actually like to see videos where you don't like the food also. 1. It would be interesting to see if some weird local dish that you don't like. 2. Makes me value the videos where you like the food a lot more. If all I hear is that everything is delicious I won't believe you as much + it will give a false image about Japanese food culture
Thanks for the video! It's always good to see the vegan/vegetarian options around. I'm vegetarian and I dream of travelling to Japan, but I always worry I might have trouble finding good places to eat. Would love to see more! It makes me just a little bit sad that your expectations were so low at the beginning :( don't know if it's because you already had trouble finding good vegan places or just don't expect much from vegan food in general. I hope that changes in the future!
This looks AMAZING!! I would love to see more vegan options around Japan
+Cheap Lazy Vegan we’ll try to find more :)
Yesss agree more vegan places would be great to see ❤
Cheap Lazy Vegan I follow Simon and Martina in hopes of more vegan videos!
Hi Ros!
hi Rose!!

Anyone noticed that the pattern on the sweat cloth is duckies?😃
Vegan ramen: we're going for it here in Tokyo. Is it any good, though? How does it compare to regular ramen? Is it worth checking out? We'll let you know in this week's video!
Love you guys, keep up the fantastic videos!
Simon and Martina interesting🤔😂
That reminded me so much of Bojack Horseman... "What do celebrities know? Do they know things? Let's find out!" (And I'm pretty sure I quoted wrong, but you get the drift)
Can you tell us how much-ish all the dishes were? I'd be interested to know if its more expensive than the average ramen ^-^
Yay! Thank you for a Vegan food review! Please make more! Luv you guys! :)
I love you guys so much! Had an EDS flare up this last week, but seeing you rocking it all the time, through it all, really gives me inspiration. Oh, and hunger pangs. LOTS of hunger pangs. I really enjoy some vegan things, really glad to see the options out there growing!!
You two are so fun! I love this channel.
I understand why you wouldn't want to post videos of places you didn't like but I feel like that'd be really informative too. Like it' good to know whats not great and what to look out for ^^
I do love that you're covering some veggie places too! x
i frikken love the quaintness of these low light alleys with tiny little booths. Just seems so serene and enjoyable, like heart filling warmness.
I love that I'm watching this less than three minutes after up load, and there's already near 800 views.
Hi notified nasties!
Notification squad is the best squad!
Simon and Martina pretty sure notification squad is the squad that all #squadgoals are based on
*salutes* reporting for duty! Great video! Came as soon as my BTS video finished.
MrsInAbox Sup.
Amber _ nice to see you here!
Vegan Ramen sounds AWESOME! I really want to try! 😃

Wow, vegan ramen and gyoza in Tokyo! That is amazing. I'm so happy you liked it. I definitely have to try that place. Thank you for the tip!

The best vegan ramen is from T's Tan Tan in Tokyo station! Seriously, it was so good, that's all I ate when I visited Japan 😭
I know that place! It's actually a chain (I'm pretty sure)...
Was it one of the ones... that didn't make the cut?
I ate there Friday and was quite delighted! Also some CoCo Ichiban places do full vegetarian curry! So you could pretend like that's a good reason for another video and dinner session!

catbirdkurt I just said the same thing! 😂
love this place so much
I hope I can try it when I visit Japan.I like how you guys eat & make videos on many different kinds of foods, even vegan.
We love all foods. We don't discriminate. We are equal opportunity eaters :D
Thank you guys for this video.
Today I had one of the worst knee pain days I've had since I was injured a year ago.

yeah, was wondering about that, too!
A Monday full of Simon and Martina! First the Eat Your Kimchi podcast and now a food vlog. Thank you for making this Monday even better.
Also, NOTIFICATION SQUAD! What's the best vegan place you've ever been to? We're trying to find some good ones :D
gotta watch the add for the fruits
~ Looks very guilty while eating a piece of chicken ~
The Impossible Burger is crazy realistic. It tastes like real meat.
Simon and Martina i've actually never eatrn vegan food *I don't eat veggies*! But you guys make it look so appetizing!

Thank you! I hope you like this episode :D
Hey Martina, i'm going through a rough time in life right now. Your videos (You and Simon) brings a bit of light into my life.
My favourite genre: People who eat meat being constantly surprised that veggie/vegan stuff tastes good. xD
Thanks so much for this video, guys!
I don't need my phone. I got my duckie - Martina 2017. You guys are too sweet!!!!
Yoan Hartono ahaha, that's how i am when I'm with my hunky and my phone dies. I'm like "who would I call anyway? We're good!"
My heart skipped a beat when Simon bit into the gyoza. Ahhh. The crunch!! Thank you for finding vegetarian/vegan food options.
Love you guys!
GROUP HUG!
I love you guys so much and hope to continue watching your videos for many more years 😊
After watching this video I need to try vegan ramen, cool video.
+Video Game News I hope you get the chance one day :)
It just hit me that yall are so committed to showing the great parts of Japan and expecting excellence by not publishing videos unless they meet your standards. Thank you so much for your hard work even if we don't see it. :)
Drops everything I’m doing when I saw EYK notification
You're a good person :D
Thank you so much for posting this video, you have no idea how much this means to me
I'd go there for the delicious vegan foods.....but in winter because no AC is unnecessary.....love all the options!!! by the way...are those KIWI earrings Martina? :D ..great video again you guys!!!!
this is ridiculous, your videos just makes me excited for my graduation trip to Japan :( not my first trip there but I really love Japan overall. thank you for venturing out to find the best food for the viewers and also helping us to understand our food better! Much love from Singapore!! 🙆🏻💕 been enjoying your videos since your days in Korea!
Definitely want to visit this spot, thank you for doing a vegan video!
Thanks for being real in your videos. Another reason why I love you guys!
I love that you guys are takin such a progressive step forward! Love these vegan videos
When I get the notification you have uploaded it puts a springboard in my step and something to look forward to at the end of the day
I love you guys!!
Before when I just started watching your videos, I was such a picky eater and didn't like going out of my comfort zone. But you make every food look awesome and delicious and I've definitely been more adventurous! Thanks, guys! 💛
There's another really good vegan restaurant in Tokyo station !
+Antastesia we’ll go check it out :)
it's so nice that you don't post videos when you don't like the food! i like that you're keeping it positive and just supporting nice restaurants instead of critiquing bad ones
Which country are you more cramped in Simon? Korea or Japan?
Definitely Japan. The places here are creatively smaller. And I'm sitting on the floors here more than I did in Korea. And I'm beefier than before and so it's tougher.
"creatively smaller" haha
I would assume the ceilings are overall shorter here too.
I guess the struggle is real!
Try not to lose a limb or give yourself a concussion!
Oh I've bumped so many things with my head. I miss having hair for the cushioning of the blows!
Simon and Martina you've gotten -before- beefier in Japan? Is that because the food is better or because you don't get as much exercise?
NewKingBrandon do you mean to ask why Simon has gotten "beefier"? It's because he's working out a lot to gain muscle.
Your little ducky cloths are adorable!! Great video as always
Please please please upload a blooper reel of all the restaurants you guys did NOT like, please 🙏🙏
Yes!!! Finally! I've been waiting for you to do a vegetarian/vegan friendly vid in Japan but I remember that you said you were having a hard time finding good quality. Glad you finally one good enough to show to us! 💕
I live for these videos! ^-^
I've been watching your videos since the first eat your sushi, and I just wanted to say that I love all your videos. You guys are amazing, and all your adventures inspire me to go further in life and enjoy more. Thank you for all the dedication you both have
I don't know about anyone else, but I would love videos of places you don't like. Use the footage! Even if it's only on your "Extras" channel.
I've been suscribed for some years now it makes me really, REALLY happy when I see you guys go to vegetarian/vegan places and enjoy the food :) as I am a longtime vegetarian/recent vegan. Keep it up guys and lots of love from Mexico!
If we can keep finding good places, we'll keep shooting them!

Yeeees❤️
I absolutely adore your videos! I'm glad you guys came back to make videos!!
I'd like to know what restaurants you didn't like .
It's so cool to see you guys shooting more vegan restaurants! I've been trying to figure out if vegan ramen was even possible and now I'm super stoked to give it a try myself 🤤
Great video!! Simon and Martina: you rock! 🤘
HOW THE HECK is the chef so chill! Look at his dry shirt! AND HIS WOOL BEANIE! and he works in the kitchen solo? Wut sorcery is this?
Yay! finally a vegetarian/vegan friendly video!
YOU GUYS ARE COUPLE GOALS FOREVER. I've literally watched all of your videos 17289 times. Love from India
Great to see you guys trying plant-based food! Looking forward to seeing more vegan food videos!
I've actually been doing some vegan cooking at home. Not that I'm going full vegan, but I think cutting back on eating meat 4-5 times a day would be a good thing for me :D
If we can find more good places, we'll definitely make more of these videos :D
Sooo good!!
I'd actually like to see a negative experience in a vid guys
Chris Dooley they don't want to bash anyone lol...
Chris Dooley same lol
they have had negative experiences aka their old korean toast video
OK so like their was the bad Korean toast place, there was the soup dumplings place, the weird squid place with the two British guys. There might be more I don't remember.
Nicole Pearl go watch Korean pizza HAHA that video still makes me laugh
Oh my goodness finally! Thank you both for uploading this hehe. One day when I travel with my bf we can go here and eat bc he's Muslim and it's hard to find places like these in a different country. Have a wonderful day my loves 🤗
I hope you enjoy this place when you come to visit :D
Yass!!!! Finally you guys did a vegan meal!!

See, I totally want to see footage in places you guys didn't like too. You don't even have to name the restaurants, you could just turn it into a blooper reel!
Duplicated scenes are totally your thing now Simon and Martina XD And I love it!
Whattt don't delete the bad ones. We need to know where to not go as welll
S & M! I’m a very happy guy & your vids always make me happier! You 2 Rock the Big Time! ❤️👏❤️🌊
Looks good, I would want to try it! Try more vegan food!!
Thank you for making this video! I love seeing more vegan/vegetarian options in Japan. So thank you for exploring places with different dietary options! Much love
You shouldn't delete the footage from places you don't like, just hide the names. Most of the time the negative reviews get more views.
Good timing! I am heading over there tomorrow :) so excited thanks for the recommendations!
CAN WE JUST TAKE A MOMENT TO NOTICE HOW BEAUTIFUL JAPAN IS?? AND THE GORGEOUS PEOPLE THAT LIVE IN IT? 💕💕
It's pretty great here, I'll admit :D
Every time I watch your videos, my mouth starts watering 😍😍
I’m a vegan, so this ramen should be right up my alley
i think you should post the videos on the food places you didnt like on your 2nd channel, so we can know which places to avoid and why!! and great video btw!
I bet $10 Martina still wished she was eating coco curry
I think she's ALWAYS wishing that. ;)
Thank you for your recommendation! I am really interested in trying out vegan ramens lately. One of the best I had was from Ippudo New York - the vegetarian ramens actually tasted better than the meat version. I was amazed by how satisfying that could be!
I'm angry cause my TH-cam notification was 21 minutes late
+Brian's glabella you’re still on time though!
Simon and Martina omg has I been replied *gasp*
Yes! you guys did veggie options! Love to see you guys helping out us veggie-foodies :) great video
Would you ever do a video telling your worst food experiences? You don't have to say the name of the places if you don't want to, I'd just find it interesting to hear you guys talk negatively once haha
Today is my birthday! And seeing you guys upload a video today makes my birthday so much better!!! Love you all your videos and you guys!
Happy birthday to you! I hope the rest of your birthday surrounds you with smiling friends and birthday cake!
Simon and Martina thank you so much! Definitely will try to make the best of today with friends and lots of cake. :D thank you! Wish I could send you guys some cake too. Haha
That little heartbreak u have when you saw martina holding a cane...
Ah, I know. It's sad to see her when she's in pain. But I'm happy - we're happy - that she has a cane that can help her on the days she needs them, so she can keep on having adventures and building her ladder :D
Simon and Martina yay~~~ Martina Hwaighting!! 💪😁
Simon and Martina Martina you inspire me to look past the difficulties in life and to strive by in happiness instead thank you so much x
Yo vegan food is bomb. idk why everyone's always like: "MBLEH! VEGAN FOOD"
We've had lots of bad vegan food, that's why.
+Nimet Tree in Japan, we rarely ever eat at a bad place. But most of the times we did were in our search for vegan food. That’s just our experience, though.
Every time I watch you videos it just makes me want to go to Japan even more! 💗
Love the Muslim friendly sign!
Right!? It's so considerate and sweet
Ah I'm so glad you did this video! I've stopped watching your other food videos now as all the close ups of meat and stuff makes me feel really sick :/ but I love your channel and your editing style and I've been around since you were in Korea. Thanks for making one little grass eater very happy :)
Awh I wish you guys would publish the places you didn't like instead of deleting them lol
Would love to try this! Thanks for sharing!
I would actually like to see videos where you don't like the food also. 1. It would be interesting to see if some weird local dish that you don't like.
2. Makes me value the videos where you like the food a lot more. If all I hear is that everything is delicious I won't believe you as much + it will give a false image about Japanese food culture
It's Local, not lokal, there was nothing low calorie about that food XD
Janos Audron oh thank you, didn't notice that I didn't write that word in English xD
Vegan food is soooo good! Glad you know it now. lol
Interesting. I would totally try that now that it's got the Simon and Martina stamp of approval. Also, your earrings are amazing.
