Kings Island is also my home park and I agree when you first get into KD, it feels "strange" like things are familiar but nothing is the right place. 😅
Great video! Its great to see you had a good time! With having been to Kings Island 9 times and have never been to Kings Dominion it reminds me of KI so much.
Nice video. I totally understood your disorientation being in Kings Dominion when Kings Island is your home park. There are so many elements that are the same and so many that are slightly different! When I was at KI, i felt like was in some form of warped, dream version of Kings Dominion. Now, you’ve got to experience Kings Dominion when the water park is open. I was also surprised you didn’t reference the massive new wing coaster that is already under construction…
Thank you! To be fair, I didn't think much about the wing Coaster construction, because we've known about it for such a long time. You get a great view of the construction from Reptilian, though! What is special about the KD waterpark?
@@Doofles One cool thing about the new coaster construction is that it is happening in front or our eyes. Kings Dominion has changed the construction walls literally every week. Extra plantings and pavings change every week. The new footers for the new coaster have new foliage. A couple of local VLOGGers who live close are covering it every few days. As a coaster nerd, I’m into it. And, watching my home park transform has been really cool. Especially, since I got my Kings Dominion Prestige Pass. I love that bad buddy and will be doing Prestige going forward for forever.
@@Doofles As for the Waterpark, I cant speak to KI’s. So, I don’t know what’s “better”. It’s very pleasant and themed well. I’ve always been disappointed with Ohio parks because the theming is lackluster. But, I now understand that Busch Gardens wants Universal/Disney theming on most things. Cedar Fair is moving the same direction with Kings Dominion. Especially if they sell the land for the DC park. Intimidator at Carowinds got the quick cheap theming. Kings Dominion is getting a project. Big difference! The water park is fun, beautiful and well cared for. Without any extra parking fees, etc.
I’m still a little torn over which version of International Street I like better… KD is definitely much more well landscaped and quaint feeling, but there is also something about the grandeur of KI’s that is appealing.. the redesigned fountains are cool, and even though I love all of the trees in KD’s, KI’s “feels” bigger. I think KI also needs its wider walkways with how busy it can get… I think each version fits its park well!
All the effects do work on backlot except the helicopter, it's just they don't always turn the effects on. It seems the fire is turned off more when it's raining.

loved this video! i’ve been watching KD videos in preparation for my visit this week, i’m super excited to go back!
Have fun!
Went to KD with my other half last summer - what an amazing time we had! KD is definitely on my list of best-kept US parks nowadays.
I love roller coasters so much!!!
I miss snoopy land at kings dominion😭 my whole childhood I wanna go back and visit

I still can’t get over how good i305 was
Used to be…. A lot of the wheels have flat spots on them and it makes the ride thump under your seat on the silver train.

KD has the superior one, because it has trees for shade. KI doesn’t.

Kings Dominion is usually very crowded
Amusement parks in general are not very crowded on a rainy day...
its literally raining ofc its empty lmao
