Thank you, Jonah, for your continued support for this concept. I live in the White Mountains of New Hampshire and am planning a cord wood earthship! The forests are being cut to fuel power plants, so I think a few trees for my "ship" will be a much better way to use them. As in the use of concrete, the life time energy saving gives a better"bang for your buck". Back in 2001, husband and I built a double walled, passive solar, elongated octagonal, home. It was dug into the south easterly slope of our granite ridge. It's outer walls were made of concrete filled, ips modules. Shell was minimally icynene foam sprayed. Twenty two square feet took two cords of wood a year to heat! Combination of materials and good design works!
