OMG, So much entertainment sitting here on the couch, just add that story to the legend of the 2020 pct. You guys are sure getting your money's worth this year. Alls well that ends well. Hope the remainder of your northbound is as exciting but, SAFE. All the best.
YES ! Calif. Sierras were closed. My trip to the Mammoth area had to be cancelled. Waited all year only to have it closed on me. Mammoth , the city, was on evacuation notice. The fires are still going on...the Creek fire that effects Mammoth is about 25% contained. Man this year sucks ! Stay safe you two because Oregon and Washington are having there problems also...
Love your videos!!! Been watching from day one. Just to let you know Ozz is about to take a toke from bowl 🤣. I don't know how you feel about pot, but I'm cool with it. Just didn't know if you noticed. That's all. I'll keep watching.✌🏾🤙🏽
Ha! Oh yeah, I had met Ozzy several times before this and knew he was a big fan of the Devil's Lettuce. I don't partake myself but don't mind if others do. In my opinion it's no different than someone having a beer. There is a LOT of pot on the PCT, so if someone is against it they're not going to make many friends!
Thanks a lot Ken and Thia for your beautiful and interesting videos ! I have seen all of your adventure , and I want to tell you how courageous you are ! You have to be so proud of you for all that you have done since Campo !! I am 60 like you Ken and I have planned to hike the PCT in 2022 ! Fingers crossed because it depends of the situation with the covid ! I am from France and I want to discover your beautiful country and trying to realise the challenge of my life ! So I wish you a beautiful ending PCT , and congratulations for the quality of the informations that you gave to me ! Big hugs from France ! Merci beaucoup Ken and Thia !
Thank you Thierry! Hiking the PCT has been a dream come true for us. I really hope you get to come over in 2022 and experience it for yourself. I met many hikers our age out on the trail and their age did not hold them back at all. If I was not limited by the injury to my legs I know that I could have gone much farther and faster than I did. Good luck!
Yes, that could have been a disaster! It turns out that TooStep was having second thoughts about loaning his car to us us before he got off trail. He was sharing his concerns with a couple of other hikers, who turned out to be McGiver and Salt, and they assured him we were trustworthy.
LMAO!! Great entertainment! Roadkill does the "Too Step" with the help of a "Jelly Bean"!! 😁👣👍🏼 Hikers taking care of one another, even under the most entertaining circumstances. Stay safe Ken. Sorry I missed you and Jelly Bean when doing my sections. Be safe and don't get yourself arrested for GTA!! 😁
Hindsight is always 20/20. I suppose you could've exchanged cell numbers and messaged each other via your inReach, but hey, it all worked out. Hike On!
Hind sight being always 20/20, since he is Southbound, he might have made the same arrangement with another northbound hiker. I, being over analytical, would have probably taken the girls down to Packwood, gone out the next morning run my errands, left the girls and taken the truck back, but thanks to Jellybean, all worked out. For your end you didn’t know at the time about the fires in the south that caused him to come back. At this time you have had access to the fire maps so you know where the fires are at. I will keep looking for you. Again, beautiful scenery. Trek On My Friends!!!
Yes, we should have made sure we had his contact info. Lesson learned... The air quality has finally improved. Heading back out tomorrow for one last try.
You guys didn’t share phone numbers??? 🤨 lol sounds like something would happen to me. No all of calif is not in fire. The forest service closed all the national forests etc.
What a great story
I’ve enjoyed all your hard work!

Thank goodness for Jellybean! He saved the day! All is good. Glad to hear Too Step understood. He seems like a good guy. Glad it all worked out.

Roadkill is a gentleman!
totally innocent mistake
Thanks for not being as judgemental about this mistake as some others have been (Syndiethea and Valerie).
