  • Welcome to @Happy Hymnody! Our #hymnofthemonth for January 2025 is O For a Thousand Tongues to Sing written by Charles Wesley (1739). Lead by April, Derek, Peregrin (5), Avielle (12), Judah (11) and Eliora (14) on the melodica. We chose 8 of the original 18 verses from Wesley's hymn to memorize this month, a wonderful song to start off the new year. Come and join us all year long for our monthly hymn study. We desire to teach these beautiful songs to our children and plant these truths in our own hearts as well. We love singing together as a community and would love for you to join us!
    Lyrics:
    1. O for a thousand tongues to sing,
    My great Redeemer's praise;
    The glories of my God and King,
    The triumphs of his grace!
    2. My gracious Master and my God,
    Assist me to proclaim,
    To spread thro' all the Earth abroad,
    The honors of Thy name.
    3. Jesus, the name that charms our fears,
    That bids our sorrows cease;
    'Tis music in the sinner's ears,
    'Tis life, and health, and peace.
    4. He breaks the power of canceled sin,
    He sets the prisoners free;
    His blood can make the foulest clean;
    His blood avail'd for me.
    5. He speaks, and, list'ning to his voice,
    New life the dead receive;
    The mournful broken hearts rejoice,
    The humble poor believe.
    6. Hear him, ye deaf; his praise ye dumb,
    Your loosen'd tongues employ;
    Ye blind, behold your Savior's come,
    And leap, ye lame for joy.
    7. Look unto him, ye nations, own
    Your God, ye fallen race;
    Look and be saved through faith alone,
    Be justified by grace.
    8. Glory to God, and praise and love
    Be ever, ever given,
    By saints below and saints above,
    The Church in earth and heaven.

    From the students of Stony Creek Colony School who sing your songs every day: "Please keep on making your songs. They are good. We would like to know if this is all your family because sometimes the children in the video change."

      A BIG hello to the students of Stony Creek Colony School! Thank you so much for singing with us every day! Yes, all 4 Brover children are here in this video. On occasion, just one or two will join me in singing the hymn of the month. And sometimes other families lead the hymn! We are so excited to worship Jesus along with you and so many other people around the world! Big hugs and blessings to you all! Love, April

    I love your family and we use the hymns that you choose for your family during our Bibletime every other month because we throw in some Gospel hymns too. To God be all the glory and God bless your Christ-centered family😍🤲🏾

      It's called a melodica! It's similar to a pump organ or harmonica--you just blow through the mouthpiece and play on the keyboard. They are so fun!
