Please don't leave your dogs/cats behind. Today it's not that hard to find a pro animal hotel. Where I live most hotels allow dogs/cats. IIRC most Hiltons allow them. I know for sure the Homewood Suites by Hilton do. That's where I always stay when I travel and I sometimes bring my dog with me and they're a super dog friendly place to stay.

Stop and think guys, if a hurricane is 100 miles wide moving 10 miles an hour and you get close to or a direct hit that's 10 hours of whatever sustained winds plus gusts on top of that. This is about 150 mph plus gusts and hurricanes spawn tornadoes in the rain bands. Can your garage doors,windows,roofs,etc withstand that? There's been a lot of rain in the past 2 weeks and the ground is saturated. Trees are going to be uprooted. It isn't a joke. It's life or death decision. God bless and protect.

Because even in a life and death situation people for whatever reason will balk or stall with hesitation, uncertainty and doubt. Their minds are numb with utter disbelief about what is going on around them or what is certain to come. They are lulled into a false sense of security by their long held possessions, their home with the kids and grandkids pictures in the familiar place and besides "I don't believe it's going to be as bad as they say", or " I have never had to move before" or "I will be all right. I trust God." And sometimes, it doesn't end so well.
I had fly out to Orlando for work on Monday and was planning on catching a flight back on Wednesday. My flight back was canceled so I drove 18 hours from Orlando to Erie Pennsylvania. I got home yesterday at 4 pm and slept really well. Hope everyone is safe

I heard the storm has sped up. It will be there at 7 PM and the winds aren’t going to be as bad as they thought. Also heard it’s heading south more towards Sarasota.
Anyone who is in an evacuation zone and doesn't go to a shelter or some other place out of the zone can take the consequences. No emergency worker lives will be sacrificed to try to rescue them.

They are all booked. We tried to find something and there wasn't anything two days ago. Thr best bet is a shelter. You can bring pets, and its free.

I heard the storm has sped up. It will be there at 7 PM and the winds aren’t going to be as bad as they thought. Also heard it’s heading south more towards Sarasota.

Anyone who is in an evacuation zone and doesn't go to a shelter or some other place out of the zone can take the consequences. No emergency worker lives will be sacrificed to try to rescue them.
Some people are bed ridden etc and can't leave.
