We always stick welded the seams with 7018. Reason being is it's nice to full weld the seams and the stick cuts through the contamination better then mig. Because even if it's a sand blasted clip the ecoat will start to leak from the seams as you weld it.

Re-stitching the seems help make it a little more ridged. Also stacking a thin material to reinforce what was cut out.. the more flex you take away the more you will be consistent.. a few other things aswell. To your point,Yes the chassis will be more consistent in return will be faster and let you get closer with spring rates.. the more flex the more guessing you do with the right spring rates versus a more ridged chassis that allows the spring to do its job when you need it most. . It’s impossible to calculate flex into your set-up so the correct spring rate is chosen for maximum performance that corner would perform at..you hit it above when someone mentioned the all free part… ton of work but no fun like getting faster

Why buy the milk when the cow is free? The people that pay attention to your videos and actually apply it to their cars will get faster.
