Silas sacrificed himself so that Bobby could complete his training. He knew exactly what Bobby was going to do which is why he smiled at Mercedes.

Silas's goal was always to pass on his evilness to his grandson and it seems to me he succeeded in his goal. That will be his legacy so his death looks like a sacrifice for greater evil. Bobby got that Omen vibe since Grandpa got his claws on him and poisoned his head. Silas is dead but it looks like even in death he came on top.

It was a good episode, but must say Silas dying makes a lot of sense as there is a bigger baddie in town and that’s Norma. And we’ll there can only be one big bad.

Bobby delivering that final unexpected blow to Silas by pushing him into the chessbard at the right moment. I wonder what Dave did after learning Ethan killed Maya. Silas obsession over the McQueens mainly Mercedes reminds me of Orpheus obsession for revenge on Marlena due to her ex husband Roman Brady accidentally shot and killed Rebecca while being on a assignment for ISA.
Aaron Acklam OA Silas playing chess reminded me of a similarity of Stefano DiMera and when he strangled those Females he reminded me of Ben Weston before he was redeemed.
I hope Dave doesn't grass Ethan up. Maya was a headcase, he did everyone a favour really. She would of killed him, or his niece without a second thought.

Wouldn’t be routing for him though. He left Silas to die. He’s killed Silas hopefully. Serial killer in the making he’s no different to Silas now. The evil smirk he gave before pushing him he knew what he was doing and that it would kill him. Won’t be long before he kills someone else or leaves someone else to die
I'm not going to lie, I would play Silas games if they didn't end up hurting people, He is really Creative and Smart.

The soundtrack of this special was brilliant. That song (How Villains Are Made) was PERFECTTTT for Bobby killing Silas.
Fun Fact: How Villains are Made was only used for the TV release. The song in the TH-cam clip is not the same (there are differences in the ending I picked up on due to my autism and it's infuriating)

I am glad Olivia is still alive after risking her own life to get Mercedes out. I think Jeff Rawle and Jennifer did fantastic and haven't seen it so epic in years.

@@louisa5518 Jeff Rawle is probably the greatest actor to ever grace Hollyoaks. He's a harmless looking old man who completely sells that he's the spawn of Satan and seems to have a ball whilst doing it. It's a fine balancing act because in order to maintain an aura of menace, he can't go too over-the-top but, as he once commented in an episode with Lyndsey Butterfield, Silas enjoys "a bit of theatre" so he allows himself to have a bit of fun with the role as well.
@@tomnorton4277 Oh he's a brilliant actor and the one who portrayed Breda could never come close to him. It's absolutely a shame that Jeff Rawle has gone. Watched him in a few things and find him exceptional as he adapts to anything. Some actors are very flat. But he dives into his Character very marvelous and entertaining.

Don’t get me wrong I actually do like the actor and all and he really did play a good job with his character playing John Kramer but I’m glad Silas is dead and he’s never coming back. Yeah I'm pretty sure Silas planned Bobby to kill him, since Silas was already finished and he was going to get caught anyway, so that was when he signalled Bobby to push him; a rather symbolic way of passing on his duty to the next generation.
Well it had to happen sooner or later. Like a slasher villain, you can bring them back but sooner or later you have to get rid of them indefinitely otherwise it gets ridiculous

I hope they win an Oscar award for this, I haven't watched holly oaks since the battle between Sid and victor due to the stories being boring and just dragging out but when I heard jeff was back in it I had to see it I'm glad I did this was amazing they should keep doing more stories like this

Silas planned it 'cause he knew he was finished. It was why Silas did his speech and gave a signal at 14:15 for Bobby to push him at the right moment. Silas did his work and he wanted Bobby to continue his work. It was probably why he had his book filled with victims in the first place, because he knew Bobby was going to take it.

My Guess Is That Silas Let Bobby Kill Him Because He Knew That Bobby Would Carry On What He Couldn't, Which Is Why He Gave That Speech, You Could See That Silas Gave Him Permission, It Was So That Mercedes Could See Bobby Was Basically A Mini Silas
hyped this stunt episode to be the one that killed a lot of characters off yet only one died which was silas that we expected to happen. Hyping an episode that did nothing just to get ratings in shocking
The fate of James, Norma, Warren, Prince and Lexi are all still to be revealed. Also Goldie finally knows about Bobby leaving Sylver to die, Warren finally knows Norma is his mother and Mercedes knows how disturbed and twisted Bobby truly is. Also a serial killer that lasted 12 years of the show to die and fulfil his wish in life is a big deal so you're downplaying the episode by a lot. The best episode in years, I'd say.

I like Silas from back in the day but that script is super clumsy, it's a shame he went out like this. His early days with Lynsey, Brendan, and old Mercedes were brilliant and compelling. He's still a good actor but whoever wrote Mercedes' big speech is not a good writer in my opinion.

That is what you get when you groom a child to be a killer - you warp their sense of right and wrong. Silas groomed Bobby to become a killer from a very young age. I still remember the time all those years ago when he targeted Bobby, and now Bobby is ruthless as they come. It was a great arc and it ended beautifully. The young actor who played Bobby did a good job so did the guy who played Silas. @14:11 Did you see the evil smile he did just before he pushed Silas? Bobby has now completely gone to the dark side.

I think this was ridiculous. So so far fetched. Hollyoaks has always been far fetched but could get away with it and that why people watched it, but in my opinion this epp when to far so unbelievable and a poor end to Silas. Funny how there was a massive explosion but the village looked perfectly fine a few days later. Watched old Epps from the early 00s and it was so much more gripping
