I use popcorn a lot in some of my resin projects. I also color it with food coloring. Just put popcorn in a baggie and a few drops of food coloring, shake well and put on a paper towel to dry. Something fun to try
Omg what if the resin got so hot it cooked the popcorn and they started popping mid curing!!! Lol that would be insane looking i bet!! Lol they turned out adorable hun thanks for sharing!! 😊😊
That looks so great , maybe you could do the pear one with real or fake pear slices and the apple one with real or fake apple slices and any other fruit or vege molds you have, oh maybe do a competition with your husband.🙂 I love what you create
The best way to do it is to put all the popcorn into your resin and coat it all then put it into the mold. I have done that with coffee beans and shells. It works much better for me.
Looks like peanuts to me. Made me want a payday. Hahaha. Cute pear and apple molds. Kind of surprised the kernels didn’t pop when the resin got hot. ❤❤❤ how it came out. 🥰
I took a glass jar, placed a mold inside. Then I poured popcorn in between the glass and mold, then filled it with resin. I use it to hold my "stash" of cash, and to potential burglars, looks just like a regular thing of popcorn 🤣. Sad to say, I saw it on 5 minute crafts, but it came out pretty awesome 😊
Popcorn kernels is a first for me 😂 I think I like that mold though. Had it in my cart on Amazon. For hard to unmold pieces I always just squirt a bit of alchol in it. Then they slide right out. People say the alchol will dry out your mold eventually. But on a pretty cheap mold I don't really care. Thanks as always Michelle! Have a blessed day 🙏
If you hold the pear stem shut, then add resin and slowly let go of the stem you will prevent bubbles. I would try using tape to clean the outside of the mold. I would leave the 🍐 stem short. Not all stems need to be the same length. Very cute project. The pear will hold lots of goodies. 😉
What a cute SOH you have. That pear will look really pretty on the counter but you’d almost have to put anything but popcorn in it. Might also be pretty with layered whole spices or dried chilis. Happy resinating!
Hey Michelle, alcohol is your friend when demolding delicate pieces, like the stem of your popcorn piece. I had issues when demolding snails. The antennas tended to break off until I started using a spritz of IPA into the mold and “massaging” it a bit. Things come out much more easily. Good luck.
That is true, unfortunately a piece of corn prohibited the resin to attach to each other around the kernel and there was a void in the stem. But yes, I do agree!
What a creative project(s) with the popcorn. Gives many ideas of so many different things that you can use !! Love 💕 all the pieces !! Thank you Michelle
grab a funnel that has a big enough hole for the popcorn to go thru then u can move the funnel around and get the kernnals in easier. that was how i put nerds into a trinket jar mold that i did.
Hi Michelle, my name is Saundra and I’ve just recently started watching your channel and the work that you do with glitter is simply breathtaking. I too am a glitter lover do you think maybe you could do a crab in the glitter? Also, just a suggestion alcohol will takeoff, wet resin Isopropyl I think that’s how you pronounce it alcohol Julie from pouring your card out uses alcohol wipes for everything to clean up and it works well for her on her moles that she makes I saw the other day that she had one of her moves. I was so excited to see how theproject came out and it was just perfect. So just try a little alcohol that big ball you had. You would need a lot of alcohol but anyway it’ll come off with the alcohol. Keep up the good work cause I’m getting a kick out of watching you.❤❤
Here is a video with a crab in it: th-cam.com/video/jOx6q6Xf4nk/w-d-xo.htmlsi=15MrE98xZA50gyD1. And yes I buy 99% alcohol by the case in this house LOL and I use it on just about everything. Hope you enjoy the channel, there are enough to binge watch a while LOL
Oh Michelle, this look like it was so much fun and I was sitting here watching you and I started laughing first to myself and then out loud. What would you do if you put those on the heating pad and the popcorn started popping inside the moles? Lol😂 but I loved it. Can’t wait to see what you do next.❤❤❤
Using alcohol on your molds will cause them to dry out and need replacing more frequently. However, I did learn a trick from Wendy at TOONPISH Crafts, that you can you use just a tiny microscopic amount of alcohol on your brush or micro brush and then dip it into your mica powders to brush onto your molds and it will stay where you want it and it cuts down on most of the static cling and keeps it from getting all over the place. I mean you barely touch your brush to the alcohol tap it on a paper towel so that it's not wet. She's got a great video on her channel on how to do it but it works like a charm. And you can use any kind of soapy water or anything like that to help release your resin pieces from their molds. Sure alcohol works in a pinch but it's not recommended. And of course using mold release spray before you do anything helps a whole lot.
Who knew that popcorn in resin could be so pretty?! OMG!! Do you happen to have the link for the mermaid tails mold? I have never seen that, and I must have one. TIA, Happy Holidays, and Happy Creating!!!!
Aww, too bad about the stem - though, you still made it look good with the paint. It might be cute to make a themed set with other similar molds; use peas and/or beans, coffee beans, etc.
I really like the pear! Looks good! ☺️I know it would cost a lot to do but would love to see it filled with abalone pieces. Things like that cost sooo much money here in the Uk.☹️
Never thought of using un-popped kernels before. Cool! And it gave me ideas of using various dry beans and peas too. They come in a good variety of colors too. Would be extra-cute in the kitchen, maybe in a spoon rest. I like the apple, personally, as my kitchen is in apple decor. Very nice❤. Wishing you and hubby a very happy new year.
You can and I would’ve but I was trying not to waste resin. But then in the end I added more corn so had I known that I would’ve dumped it in at the beginning 🤦♀️
Different that's for sure. If only it were more masculine. Gave me an idea though. Going to make a coaster for my popcorn loving son. 😊 Thanks for the idea. 😁 Don't worry about the stem if you don't point it out we won't know. It sure doesn't bother me. 😅
Go by volume not weight. When I say ounces I'm talking about the "ounces lines" on the mixing cups not actual weight. Sorry! I'll be more clear next time. Hope you made a bunch of cool extras!

Interesting!!! Thanks!!

That would’ve been my “viral video” for sure 😁😁😁
😂😂😂That would be something to see.
Try spraying alcohol into the mold to get your prize out. They pop out like a pig in a blanket. Lol
Or soapy water and a blast from the air compressor. It'll shoot out like a cannonball.💣💥☄️😂
It turned out really cute. Nobody is going to notice the stem except for you.🎉
Super cute great use of of easy to find product.
Next time try Epson Salts! It’s a great way to fill up a large mold without having to use so much resin! Plus it looks really cool! 😊
Great idea!
Maybe some ultra fine glitter to go with the popcorn😊
That looks so great , maybe you could do the pear one with real or fake pear slices and the apple one with real or fake apple
slices and any other fruit or vege molds you have, oh maybe do a competition with your husband.🙂 I love what you create
🎉This was fun to watch something different!😊
How FUN is this??!! 🍿❤️
Cool idea. Turned out great and you wouldn't know stem is too short.
The best way to do it is to put all the popcorn into your resin and coat it all then put it into the mold.
I have done that with coffee beans and shells.
It works much better for me.
Yes, I was just trying not to waste resin, had I known I was going to use the rest for popcorn "extras" too I would've done that LOL
Dying the popcorn different colors would be cool too
Wow this is amazing....so creative and different....thanks for sharing
your pear started looking pregnant towards the end there lol I really love the seashell! It's really neat!
Michelle, this is adorable!!!! Your mind never stops does it?! Never thought to use popcorn!!
Right?! LOL
Indian corn would be so pretty in there! I love watching you.
Thank you ☺️
Awesome idea love how it turned out very creative
There nice I love the mermaid tails
You are so patient 😮. Fun piece
That was a fun project 😊❤
love how the pear came out.great job.🙋♀
They look great.i love popcorn.
Hey Michelle maybe try pushing down on that center part of mold and pour popcorn in at the same time
I love popcorn. I make it once a week.
Those came out awesome. Now for a corn mold😅❤
Michelle you worked hard for these but well worth it. They are so cute. ❤❤❤
Love the pop corn idea. It might also look cool in a coaster.
Yes! I was just telling my hubby this!
Definitely different love it🎉🎉
They turned out pretty good!
Looks like peanuts to me. Made me want a payday. Hahaha. Cute pear and apple molds. Kind of surprised the kernels didn’t pop when the resin got hot. ❤❤❤ how it came out. 🥰
That would've been hilarious! 😁
@@glitznglitterbymichelle1 Agree. Kept waiting to see if any kernels popped. lol
Can put a funnel between the center and side of the mold, it will help add the popcorn easier 😊
Pretty cool pieces!! For the apple do candy and it will be a "candy apple"😂
Already in the works !😁
I LOVE IT ❤❤❤❤
Oh my I love this!
Just when I thought I should slow down on buying more molds lol… yep! I went ahead and purchased the pear & apple lol ..
Corn is a very cute idea! 🩵
😁😁😁
Can I pop the popcorn. 😂I love it ,it's unique. ❤❤❤
It would've been funny if it popped while it heated to cure!! 😁😁
You would have had a bigger mess to clean up.
I took a glass jar, placed a mold inside. Then I poured popcorn in between the glass and mold, then filled it with resin. I use it to hold my "stash" of cash, and to potential burglars, looks just like a regular thing of popcorn 🤣. Sad to say, I saw it on 5 minute crafts, but it came out pretty awesome 😊
hmmm interesting!
I love your positive attitude when things go wrong. It has helped me to realize resin isn’t a perfect hobby and that everyone has moments.
It definitely goes "awry" alot LOL
Very cute idea❤

Yes alcohol works too but the kernel made a void in the resin stem so I couldn't even glue it together when we finally preyed it out.
So cute!!
Love the pear popcorn is a clever idea.
Wow I love this idea of popcorn in resin Just loved what you made
Thank you so much 😊

Such I neat idea! I wonder what Pear flavored popcorn would taste like? ❤❤❤❤

Unique idea
I was thinking of doing aquarium rocks, black mixed with yellow and pink. But my OCD is not gonna let me do 'the mess'. You my dear are brave!
Thats a great idea too, give it a try, messes can be cleaned up easy enough...
Wow that’s neat

Really cool idea! Where did you come up with the idea? I think it's great! Keep your ideas and projects coming! I'm a fan!!❤❤
My brain doesn't stop, I'll just be walking around whatever store I'm in wondering what I can put in resin, this was at the grocery store LOL
so fun!
Interesant . Am sa încerc si eu. Bravo felicitări
If you spray the mold with soapy water (instead of alcohol which can damage silicone) , molds empty very easy

That looks neat .
I really love them. Soooo pretty. Happy New Year
Happy new year!!
🎉wow you really put your heart into this mold.
Popcorn? Hmmm...interesting. looks good, though.❤
I love it 😀 this is one creative piece. All the pieces look great 👍 👍👍😃
Thanks so much 😊
Good to know the resin doesn't get hot enough to pop the corns 🤣
That would’ve gone viral 😁😁
I’ve never tried popcorn, but I do use a lot of crushed glass and coloured stones in my larger projects. It saves a fortune in resin!
Love love love it
Who knew that popcorn in resin could be so pretty?! OMG!! Do you happen to have the link for the mermaid tails mold? I have never seen that, and I must have one. TIA, Happy Holidays, and Happy Creating!!!!
I bought it at Michaels in the cake section
When I did my pumpkin mold I did the stem first with glow in the dark green and let it cure before doing the top of pumpkin top.
What a great idea!!!
Aww, too bad about the stem - though, you still made it look good with the paint. It might be cute to make a themed set with other similar molds; use peas and/or beans, coffee beans, etc.

Working on the apple video now!! Stay tuned!
You could add red popcorn to your apple
Great idea!
Luckily the outside can dry and you pop it off and use tape for the rest.
There's popcorn shrimp so why not popcorn mermaid tails and seashells?
Interesting idea .. very unique pieces.
😁
Love it.
Waaw 😘
Would popped corn work in resin? These are really cool! It makes different kind of look.😄
Yep! Here’s a video th-cam.com/video/krjQLcBmjFY/w-d-xo.htmlsi=nnjffiBKqQw_afkJ 😊
While watching you do it this way, an idea popped up. Why can't you mix the popcorn and resin together first, then place it into the mold. 😊
You can and I would’ve but I was trying not to waste resin. But then in the end I added more corn so had I known that I would’ve dumped it in at the beginning 🤦♀️
How about wetting the pop corn with resin before putting it in? Maybe to see better into the stem, shine a flashlight at the bottom?
Yes I agree with you on that 😁
Different that's for sure. If only it were more masculine. Gave me an idea though. Going to make a coaster for my popcorn loving son. 😊 Thanks for the idea. 😁 Don't worry about the stem if you don't point it out we won't know. It sure doesn't bother me. 😅

Your neighbor from across the state.
Can pink salt or other salt be used. Please let me know. Thanks
I know epsom salt can be used, not sure of pink salt though....
Pink peppercorns in the apple?
Good idea!!
🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
So today I did the fill mold with water and because resin is thicker I ended up with a ton of leftover resin. Next time I’m not sure what to do. Help
You have volume vs weight totally different measurements.
Not to mention thickness of the resin which is greater than water per volume
Go by volume not weight. When I say ounces I'm talking about the "ounces lines" on the mixing cups not actual weight. Sorry! I'll be more clear next time. Hope you made a bunch of cool extras!
Once you have corn in the lid can you debubble it in the machine? Same with bottom piece?
No it would bubble over in the chamber unfortunately
