The largest used book store in the US is John K. King Used Book Store in Detroit MI. 4 levels, they give you a map. It used to be a textile factory. I went with my cousin a few years ago. It’s giving old used store vibes, and also, easy to get lost in.
@ there’s so many beautiful places in Detroit now. The old Grand Central train Station was just restored last year and it’s gorgeous. They kept all original architecture they could and made 3D printed pieces to fill in the missing aesthetic pieces. It’s Gorgeous with a garden out front and then leads you right into cork town. Definitely worth a visit.
John K King is the greatest …… I didn’t realize it was the largest used book store in the US. But I love going there, they also have a small satellite store in Downtown Ferndale which gives small store vibes and is also close to great restaurants. I love going to both. And I completely agree Detroit has really turned around, Dan Gilbert has put a lot of his fortune back into the city ( seeing that he owns most of downtown 😅) it’s crazy but nice to see all the change in the city.
@ well, there are larger book stores but specifically it’s the largest Used book store. But yes, it’s been so great to see Detroit slowly coming back to its former glory with new and creative ideas and businesses and people.
@khalilahd. it's beautiful, breathtaking, and magical. I was there for two weeks. I did not want to go back home, and I was looking at property to buy!
Yes, the Harry Potter destinations are a “must” for fans of the series. I have been to all the Harry Potter locations: Universal Studios HP World, the Elephant House in Edinburgh (for lunch), Platform 9-3/4 in London, and Warner Bros Harry Potter in Leavesden, England. I also rode the Hogwarts Express (Jacobite Train from Fort William to Millaig).
You should add the town of Haye-on-Wye in Wales to your list! It has over 20 bookstores and is known as ‘a town of books’ They have a really cool book festival in April/May.
New subscriber! ❤ I’ve been a reading teacher for 20years and sadly have slacked in my personal reading so I’m looking for great channels to stay connected with and for recommendations and reading motivation! Keep it up! 😊
12:50 Lello bookstore is actually pretty crammed. Even smaller for the wild hordes of tourists. The book selection is also limited due to different sections holding books in several different languages. But it is stunning :)
I love art museums, traditional art museums, often hundreds of years old. A one-year-entrance is not so expensive, but you have all you need. An inspiring athmosphere, nice people, enough light and stylish places to sit or to have a cup of coffee. I am from Vienna/Austria/Europe.
Jane Austen House for sure! I am going to the UK for the Jane Austen Festival this year with a couple of friends, and I am so excited. Also, I am still begging you to read Pride and Prejudice, Khalilah❤
Hey Friend, Happy Friday. I love that this video is different from your normal videos. All of these bookish places are beautiful and I know book lovers would do anything to stay or see these places. 😊🥰
Petition to disable the automatic translation in video titles 😂😅 (I'm from Spain so my TH-cam app is fully in Spanish, but I don't like it when the titles in English are translated into Spanish, specially because the translation is really really bad and sometimes even more difficult to understand) PS: love this concept for a series in your channel!!! PS2: drink a shot whenever Khalilah says "literally" 😂
Yay Portugal mencioned 💓 Lello is a beautiful bookstore but is extremely crowed at all times. Lisbon and Óbidos have a lot of beautiful bookstores as well. If you decide to visit Portugal I highly recommend a trip to Sintra, it looks like it’s out of a fairytale
You’ve just inspired me to check out the libraries when I go to Malta next month. I looked them up and there are a couple that look beautiful! What a fun video 😊
Just 4 minutes in and can tell that we’re kindred spirits 🥹 I love Twilight 💚 I would love to visit the filming locations, and I love Harry Potter! I’m also in house Gryffindor! ❤ 🦁
The Library of Trinity College is easily in my top 5, can you imagine the euphoric smell? Nothing smells better than old books and wood 😍 lol. Wigtown (book town) in Scotland is probably top tier. I believe they dedicated it in the late 90s as their official book town. Its supposed to be literary heaven 😁
There is another bookish destination you would like is the Boston public library. Its amazing. Very historical. You will see a room with tons and tons of books and also students studying there too. It’s amazing!
Hello love happy new year. I absolutely loved this video. I love looking at different bookstores and the architecture in just fabulous. Hope you do another video. Have a blessed day.
Aaah I'd love to go to Westminster Abbey! I live in England but our public transport is so expensive that it's genuinely cheaper for me to go to Paris than London...and that ain't a hard choice, so i probably won't be visiting unless I'm doing some grand tour of southern England 😂 Edinburgh also has The Writers Museum! It only focuses in three writers, one being the guy who wrote Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde, which is a god tier book 👌🏻 John Rylands library in Manchester UK is beautiful, and there's a few book stores around there too!
Happy new year darling, wishing you the best year full of love and books❤❤❤I will add : "Carturesti" the amazing library -book store in Bucharest Romania💗💗💗
In my country (Belgium) there’s a small store in Bruges called House Of Wizards that has full of Harry Potter stuff and I feel like you would enjoy that store so much 😊
I'd love to go to the beautiful theatre/library in Argentina and get Augustina Bazterrica's books published in her native language!! Can I read them? Nope!!😂
Please don't go to bookstores for Instagram posts!! I just came back from Paris, I'm there often as my bf lives there and one of my favorite places is the bookstore Shakespeare and company. Unfortunately it has been destroyed by all the tourists going there. You often have to queue in like it would be a night club and you notice most people going in are not even there for the books, you see people coming out with only the tote bag, or nothing at all. But the worst thing is that many ignore all the signs saying no photos or videos, especially upstairs where there's a super cozy reading space I often go to when in Paris and needing a break. Even if you sit right next to a sign there will be tourists putting a camera in your face like you are some tourist attraction. I heard the same thing from people studying at Trinity college, if you go there, please remember there are actual people studying there, they are not actors for the tourists. I love travelling but damn we all need to learn to show some respect, mass tourism is super toxic.
Thanks for the breakdown! I need some advice: My OKX wallet holds some USDT, and I have the seed phrase. (alarm fetch churn bridge exercise tape speak race clerk couch crater letter). How can I transfer them to Binance?
If you do another video you could include the public library in Stuttgart (Stadtbibliothek am Mailänder Platz) or the state library in Berlin (Staatsbibliothek Unter den Linden) they are the most unique in Germany 😊 (where I am from)
The minutes the Twilight music started god damn xD We love being a Twihard ♥ Regarding HP, I remember when the first book came out and it's a big reason I became a writer. HOWEVER, as long as we all remember that Joanne is actual human garbage and don't actively support her. One place I want to go is the library in Oxford Uni that was referenced in A Discovery of Witches. And obviously the Beauty and the Beast library... obviously.
Harry Potter World is at Universal Studios so it’s the one thing Disney does not own. I’m a huge Disney fan but must say Universal did an AMAZING job bringing Harry Potter to life.
So I love disney world and you should definitely go. But Harry Potter stuff is at Universal Studios, and split between both Islands of Adventure and Univeral Studios. Don't want you to go to Disney World only to realize there is no Harry Potter.
I firmly believe books belong to their readers & fully love Harry Potter still & support & understand people who love it, but I don't think I could go anywhere that celebrates JK Rowling specifically in any way anymore or give her my money. It feels like an endorsement of her hatred for the trans community & ignoring that feels like agreement with her views. I scrolled through comments for a while & didn't see anyone give that disclaimer or point that out so I just wanted to so everyone had the full picture. Love the concept for this video otherwise & love the unique suggestions :)
Your energy really cheered me up, I could not hand in an essay that I spent two months on and cancelled plans to finish. For some reason the hand in website wasn’t working. It was due in an hour ago, I just sent my lecturer so many emails but she’s not working today, I just have to sit in it for now and listening to you talk is really helping me get through that 🫶
Guys! I misspoke, The Harry Potter world is actually in Universal Studios NOT Disney! Sorry about that! (why yall cooking me tho 💀💀)
Harry Potter fans are intense lmao
Which of these literary spots is your dream destination? lmk down below!

@@victoriakohler627 that was my mistype 😅…. I edited it to say used book store
I've been to Forks, LA Push, the café, etc. Going back again this June!❤
That’s so cool! I’ve always wanted to go!
@khalilahd. it's beautiful, breathtaking, and magical. I was there for two weeks. I did not want to go back home, and I was looking at property to buy!
I live really close to the swan house like 30 minutes away
Oooh how was La Push? I always liked how it was described in the books
@Sharletwitch it was amazing! I did the Twilight tour and we had a bonfire, s'more and listened to stories about the reservation and the vampires.

Just outside of Lisbon you have Quinta da Regaleira. Those gardens will make you feel like you stepped into a book narnia style❤

Fun fact: Buenos Aires is the city with most bookstores per capita ☺and El Ateneo is beautiful

Hello love happy new year. I absolutely loved this video. I love looking at different bookstores and the architecture in just fabulous. Hope you do another video. Have a blessed day.
You may want to come down to DC and go to the Library of Congress and the National Archives. Boudin College in Cambridge as well.

For your Harry Potter adventure i 100% recommend the studios in Watford, UK! I am not a fan and I was still so impressed with it and had a lot of fun
Forks, Washington of course, but Trinity College is in for a very close second. I have always loved that Library
“And my family’s kidneys.”
