      Nah homie, Mexicans have negative attitude towards blacks even Dominicans and a few black Latinos who work in Mexico get discriminated against. Now you get a black guy that doesn't speak a language and are different culturally then it's a different matter altogether. In Mexico you have to be respectful and humble, you can't be a loudmouth, you will be treated with respect but don't force your attitudes on the people and the expect them to adapt to you.

    Im half black, half Mexican and personally Mexicans in Mexico are cool compare to some Chicanos (American born Mexicans) especially in the LA area. I remember when I was young they use to tell I’m not Mexican and I was probably adopted by my mom who is Mexican. I had a hard time living in East LA but whenever I went to visit my family in Mexico I would get so much love in their town. Even when I left the town I never really faced racism plus I know how to speak Spanish so I never had any issues there with race but Chicanos are sometimes a different story because being born here some of them become really white wash and carry themselves different from Mexicans from Mexico.
    Mexicans in Mexico are not really into the politics they most want to ask question’s about the US plus I was getting mad love from the girls over there.

    • @YiNkZZ
      @YiNkZZ  3 ปีที่แล้ว +11

      You are soo true about Chicanos, which I have a lot of experience with them since I lived in El Paso for five years. They are the ones that try to segregate the most (again based on my experiences). But I think the American system has something to do with the mentality so they try to portray things on you. But Glad they treat you great in Mexico which is how it should be!!

There's a black guy that would stand on madero st in el zocalo (historical center) in mexico city and just stand there, so people would pay him for a picture. He was very popular and people would wait in line for a picture. Really, I'm not kidding you. He was buff and posed with a huge smile, people loved that.

    I finally went to Mexico in 2019, but unfortunately it was a short trip. Good thing was my husband had his visa approved. We spent a week in Juarez, then we went to Mexico City to get to my suegros. They live in an outer area of the city, and I’m sure I was the only American and Black person around lol. But it was a good experience. I could feel people looking at me because I stuck out, but people were welcoming. And it helps that I speak Spanish - I find that people appreciate the effort even if it’s not perfect. Planning on going back soon since last year was a mess.

    Please read,
    From what I have read, Activist such as Luis Moreno and Charlotta Bass have mentioned that African Americans And Mexican Americans have gone through similar injustices. They have been put against each other because loving each other together and being strong together is a threat to the systemic injustices that we we live. This is why I loved the Last Wakanda Forever Movie.
    I have to say that it’s ignorance and what was implanted in us by the people in high ranking politicians like the neo- nazis white supremacists who were hiding behind a suit and in a tie though out history “from boots to suits”. It has made these two groups dislike each other through generations. Especially strong to dislike and hurt each other in the jail system.
    Love to all people! Including Asian, Indian and everyone else we share this world with.
    Who I am and what do I know right !
    I have been asked where I’m from. I’m Mexican American and we all look different. We have so many mixes.
    I just took a dna test that shows that I have 9% Senegal 🇸🇳 where they had a center for slave trade. Another percentage is from Spain and and Portugal, Iran, European Jewish and Mexican Michoacán indigenous. It was shocking to learn that I have ancestors that lived and experienced the slave trade.
    The first book I ever really read was “to be a slave”. And I was angry and cried by the stories. This book and watching “Roots”opened up more curiosity on how people can be so cruel. I became more interested to learn about history.
    I have to say that in Mexico and other countries people African descent continue to experience the effect, disadvantage, and the systemic injustices through generation because of slavery. They are looked down on just because of the darker skin. If you are Mexican you most likely have a percentage of African American.
    What so bizarre is that in Mexico racism is so common. The light Mexicans that look more European/white although might have a high percentage or African and indigenous roots, will be favored and have higher paying jobs and are most likely to be get roles in movies and novelas. They only hire the dark skinned Mexicans as servants and criminals in roles.
    Media has made it appear that being lighter is being better. Brain washed people. My mom saw a baby with blue eyes and blonde hair and made a comment that the baby looked like an Angel. I’m looking at my moreno baby and I say, mom all babies look like angels.

    And remember black is not the same thing in Mexico for example black is kind of derogatory word for African people in the stolen land that is US too diminishes you but in Mexico being someone calls you black is not like evil intention is just like how the way you look but it's not like even bad 🤔 this is in my perspective in an endearing way like I don't know how to explain it more than this but of course there will be a lot of white wash Mexicans you know cuz I mean obviously Mexico was also colonized by the white colonizers people and half of Mexico was taken by the US so yeah that's sad and and remember Mexico is geographically a place not a race so race isn't much of a issue for us but I guess for white people it is.... And remember in Mexico we have afro Mexican descendants from Africa and indigenous mixed together also with indigenous Mexicans you know from different cultures in Mexico💜🙏🤎🖤

I’m talking about Tepatitlán, Arandas, San Miguel el Alto, Jalostotitlan región. HIGHLY influenced by Spain and France. Very beautiful towns and women. SOME very light skinned people. Mexico is NOT a racist country, we do not have those horrible issues like in the USA.
    We don't even have mean racist nicknames when we talk about jews/blacks/indigenous... etc... that kind of vocabulary does NOT exist in Mexico. But we have a BIG problem with social classes (poor vs rich).
    And if ur black and are in Mexico please dont be paranoid or feel weard if people are stearing at you, in like 98% of the mexican republic we are NOT use to see black people !! There are a few cubans or from Haiti around or some african mexican in Guerrero and Veracruz but in other places must people have NEVER seen a black person before !!! So dont be paranoid !!!
    Another thing in mexico we name people from their nationality as a joke, but is NOT a racist thing, we say for example "el Chino", "el Gringo", "el Árabe", "el Judío" etc.... and when we talk about black people, must of the time we say: "negrito/negrita", wich means : little back one (to be even more polite).
    But.... if you are visiting Mexico or planning to stay here for a while, I strongly recommend you to dress normal.
    Please leave behind your Hip-Hop/Gangster-Steet look, DO NOT come to Mexico with golden teeth, XXL Tshirts, giant golden jewlery, or if u are a woman... please DO NOT come with your mega long nails, very tight tiger patterned clothing etc... avoid that kind of look !! Otherwise you are going to be REJECTED,
    I garantee you will !!!!
    Another thing...we mexicans are VERY polite and we hate rude foreigners !! Please respect our culture, our traditions, be very polite and dress properly !!
    If so... you will have a good time in Mexico !!!
    🤗😊

    • @YiNkZZ
      @YiNkZZ  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Dan firstly muchísimas gracias🙌🏾 This issue of socialism seems to be the very same issues we are dealing with in Nigeria and I just hope that we can hopefully get better in this area.
      As for the terms used such as el gringo, negrito, todo está bien. I have not had any issues with it. Like you stated a lot of Mexicans are just not used to the black skin people so I am very used to people looking at me and never felt paranoid or insecured. Actually people typically ask to take pics with me and depending on the vibes I don't have any issues with it. I agree with the clothing part too, not dressing too crazy or out there can cause people not accepting so I have no issues there.
      This is a well written comment and thanks for the advice to other black people that plan on moving or visiting authentic places in Mexico.

      This is a great question that I do not have a response to because I learnt spanish on my own and with friends. Also Mexico is a huge country, so I advice that if you want to find the best schools you go to your local city and ask people around. Also while in the process of looking for schools, you can be learning through duolingo, watching spanish TV and listening to songs you already know in your native language in Spanish.
