I can tell from this video and the comments, there is a good amount of Afro American brothers and sisters living in Merida. As a Mexican, all I can say is I feel proud to see people from other ethnicities and cultures want to move and live in my country. (I’ve never been to Merida) but we Mexicans welcome you to our country. Ironically, I am a Mexican born and raised but I reside in the USA since 2007. Great video btw.

@@thecapitalg With little money, many Mexicans can live with luxuries in Mexico. We are a country of great wealth in food, materials, culture and art. USA is rich in credit. And those who have brought gentrification and higher prices have been the US Americans.
Yes. i joined the US Navy to see the world and it did open my eyes and mind. Apartments like those would cost 3,000usd in Los Angeles where I'm from, can't never go back on fixed income of 2,000 usd, I'd have to live in Watts or Compton...
I liked #2, the furnished one and the only one that has something that looks like a pool. Also, those apartments may look like a bargain to people from the US, but in Mérida they are considered high rent, very expensive. Another thing I've observed in many Mexican homes is a tendency to build stairs without handrails, which I think it's very dangerous. Regarding Mérida, you often see what appear to be very nice homes/apartments, but built in new developments that are really undeveloped: no sidewalks, dusty streets, few trees, not meant for people to walk or stroll, but you really need to have your own transportation. Then many of these are for sale, but I have read comments from some Mexicans who say those houses are built to look "pretty" or modern, but are not really well built. Developers really want to make a quick profit and then they will not be held accountable when things go wrong. The reason electricity is not included is because Mérida is really, really hot and humid, very humid in the summer and actually most of the year,, except for 3 or 4 months, and people will need to use their air conditioning units a lot. That will consume a lot of electricity, which then translates into very high bills. They do not seem to have central air there either. Also, it rains a lot in Mérida and there is also flooding in many areas, so those developments with hardly any sidewalks and undeveloped streets with no public drainage could become a nightmare to navigate. Although I would think in the newest ones some type of drainage should exist, but do not take anything for granted.

It should be like that in the states. I mean like you said, it’s so simple to get a apartment in Mexico. In the states you have to going through pens and needles just put a roof over your head. You have to have good or very good credit to get a decent apartment or home. But in Mexico all you need is your passport and cash!

I find it interesting that while those "contemporary-modern" looking apartment styles have been around down there since the 90's, in the States are barely catching up. I agree they must place rails on those stairs.

Always been my dream to live there short term. I’m more drawn to the old colonial homes that have been renovated. . They look like nothing from the street but once inside they are beautiful with interior patios. Perhaps one day soon.
I love how you are so polite when you see something you don't like you do positive comments on a furniture l. The 2nd one is my fav and the lady is super nice.
Latinos are moving to US to better their living by finding a way to make money. Americans move to Mexico when they already have income and changing place to lower cost of living and explore. So its very different cases. I can see people moving to Merida to make better living , but they always come from places like Cuba , Venezuela or other countries with lower life quality.
@Life's Happy Its true i worked in the border in Tijuana for 5 years... Most of the people crossing is Central Americans. Just like lots of Americans are buying properties in Mexico, main reason is they cant afford to buy shit in the US. Thats a fact..

Super cool places!! Definitely a fan of the private pool apartments. The concrete stairs w/ no railing scares me tho. I’m excited to see which place you decide!!
Hi!, My name is Howard, from St Louis, Missouri, all of the apartments are georgeous, but my favorite is the furnished apartment, because of the great design layout and the balcony was definitely a plus, but choose the space that you feel would best serve your needs based on the way you feel you best utilize and occupy the space, and definitely take into considered the amount of storage a place offers compared to others, it is better to have more storage space than not enough
My wife is from there and she had been bullying me to move there when we retire in a few years. This video helps. I speak Spanish, but.... I am American. LOL. That said, I want to open up a BBQ, Pizza, etc. place in Mexico CIty, and I told her that that is the one way to get me there so, we are on our way. I have lived in Mexican hoods in Chicago (Pilsen), so I know the people, culture and more. I have helped them in Chicago a lot. Even worked with gangs, aldermen and change! I'm all in!!!!! The last one was my favorite. HOWEVER, those stairs without a barrier on one side are a death trap. One slip of a flip-flop on that marble and your toast. Difference between building codes from one country to another.
@@bobbybrown1389 Yeah you do. But when the stairs are steep, made out of marble, no hand rails to catch yourself and no wall to stop you from falling a full storey , you odds of serious injury have exponentially risen by 100%

The 2nd apartment is my favorite. In my city, you can't hardly even rent a room for $500-650 and don't even think about an apartment for that amount! We have an enormous housing shortage all the way around. These places you showed us look so inviting! I am so tempted to move from the US!
Very Nice Apartments! I loved the 2nd ,3rd and 4th the best! I’m in New York and seriously thinking about relocating to Mexico. Just now checking out the most reasonable areas to relocate to.
This was a great video! I'm making plans to do a 3 month visit and had been wondering what the approval process was like for housing...if they did credit checks and such...this was super encouraging!
Thank you SO MUCH for this video... I was gonna stay in airbnb's long term but this is SO much better!! And thank you for that bit at the end telling us more about the process for securing an apartment. Visited here for a month back in the summer and securing the apt hopefully in the next month or less!
Thank you so much for these fantastic videos!! Stay blessed and safe always. I PAID 1-800-GOT JUNK to emptied out my 880sq ft apartment, and I moved to Queretaro,Mexico on 11-2-2021. USA became too deadly and expensive for this 79 years young lady. I have a 100% furnished apartment, that includes ALL utilities and maid service in a gated community. The people have been super nice, and they are respectful, as I am also. I did not have Junk, but controlled memories all in Rubber Maids. Congratulations Brother 🙌🏽🙌🏽 These apartments are nice & simple especially if your on a budget. Next video please go into detail with the outside scenery and what the area looks like before you walk into the apartment. Some parts of Merida look extremely undeveloped with random, well fed, stray dogs, noise, and construction. I enjoyed staying in Merida but to pack up and move there. No No No I don’t care how cheap it is. It’s nice for families and retirees not a young single person, that’s just my opinion.
A place like that here LA would probably go for about $2,000 how does the U.S expect ppl to afford living. I would love to get myself a place in Mexico 🇲🇽
Well to be fair wages are way higher in the US. It is equally or even more difficult for an average mexican to live in a place like this in Merida. Though housing is not a problem here, I think Mexico is literally the country with less homeless people as a percentage of population in the world, Mexico has less total homeless than New Zealand for example, despite having more than 25 times the population. The thing is the bad quality housing, most poor people (30-40% of the population) live in cement blocks with metal plates as roofs. I guess it is better than homeless, but good housing in Mexico is definitely not affordable for many mexicans thanks to the salaries and overall economy.
@@kjrom to be honest with you the wages are higher than other countries is a lie I say that because no one that makes 15 or 18 dollars an hour can afford a $2,000 a month apartment unless they are married and have a roommate because you also have other bills to pay groceries gas-electric water Etc so that may end up being about 2700
Actually, I am an American expat living in México, but all those ultra modern luxury apartments that you showed all looked about the same to me and totally lacking in colors and good vibes. I live in Chapala, you could live in Chapala and rent an entire house for 6 or 7 hundred USD's and not even need A/C because the weather here is like eternal spring. I get that people like Mérida because its special, but you are going to feel real special as in specially sweaty and miserable when the summer months come. The highland cities with the perfect year round springtime weather are the places to live. Mérida is where you want to visit along with the beaches.
Totally agree. These apts in Merida are built for expats who like hot and humid. The beach is far and the area is isolated---far from the centro-- and lacks character. Central Mexico has the best year round weather and more interesting housing for yhe same price.
I’m over here struggling and stressing out in America…yeah I’m moving to Mexico. I know it won’t be perfect but it seems like I would be a lot happier living over there. The cost of living is so high America, it’s ridiculous.
How are a real estate broker and living in another country? Do you work remotely? Talk more about that! I think that's more important than the cost of wherever you live overseas when you can make bank back stateside without ever being there.
Man thank you for this info. I am planning and preparing now to make Merida my home. I need your help to find a place. These are awesome. I love the style.
I love this. What am I doing here paying almost 3x the rent per month for the ick of the city? Could be living in tropical paradise with outdoor space and a pool.
Julian, we are in Puerto Escondido for a month or so, but then headed to Progreso or the beaches in that area. So, if you happen to do the dame type of video out there, that would be great! lol.... Nice apartments... it is amazing what one can get for the money. We have a studio apartment now, just two of us, but we are a few blocks from 4 beaches and a slightly longer walk to 2 more and we pay $600 US... all utilities included, a plunge pool on our terrace, and two secure parking spots in the garage for free. I'm keeping that information! I'm saving to move there. Gonna be smart and have at least a year of rent.
Those concrete stairs without a railing are a deal breaker.
Yeah why they do that ?. Not for me.
Yep definitely can put a lot of people off
A lot of homes in mexico have those. Safety regulations are different.
I agree that's very dangerous!🤦🤔🙄👎👎🎯💯💯💯
I would break my neck. For sure.
OMG you are so good at really showing these apartments!! I’m posting this in Brothas and Sistas of Merida group! 💗
Thank you! My fave group🙌🏽
Can I get added to the group; I’m thinking about moving. I would love to pick you guys brain.

Hi. Is that group on Facebook?
My first time seeing your channel and I feel like you would be a great friend to have. I get really good vibes about you. And that smile! Great video!
You’re the real MVP for leaving the realtor info below 🙏🏽
3 and 5 were my favorites but those stairs made me nervous! 😂. You did an amazing job showing all of the spaces. Made me want to pack my bags. Just binged all of your vids back to back. Can’t wait for the next one. Live your best life!!
“No, I’m from Africa!” Lmao I’m dead! I plan on moving to Mexico in the next couple months! I hope we can be franssss!!🤗
You are soo right. I live in Puerto Rico and I made the same crazy mistake by being sold on the first rental property. It's sad that both of my parents are real estate brokers of 25+ years. I'm like why did I do the opposite of what I have been told for a good chunk of my life not to do?? Lol! We all make mistakes. I know I wiil be surely prepared for the next apartment hunt lol!!
I live in Manati PR, 3 bdm. apt. fully furnished(washer, dryer, A/C,) electric, water inc. $600./month. Mexico looks great! What’s better than tacos and Mexican Beer!!!
It should be like that in the states. I mean like you said, it’s so simple to get a apartment in Mexico. In the states you have to going through pens and needles just put a roof over your head. You have to have good or very good credit to get a decent apartment or home. But in Mexico all you need is your passport and cash!
You say that sitting comfortably in the states but if you were a local this type of life without even cross your mind. Mexicans makes on average 200 pesos monthly and groceries alone for one person is 20 pesos weekly
They usually ask for a co-signer or a very high deposit.
NO Most of these property's you have to go through a Lawyer And show you hace funds in the Bank and Refences He's glossing over what you need to do. Id not easy. If you only want 1 month2/3/4/5/ Better go on AirB. otherwise you have to jump through hoops in a foeregn language believe me
@@lesleymcshanemitchell9651, I know, I went through it.
Reason I bought an old mobile home, I'd rather save that rent money to purchase a home later than pay high rent and never have savings for buying my dream home. I love not stressing about rent.
I am in a WOW!!! I was looking to purchase a home here in the US but, God is guiding me else where. Mexico keeps coming across my radar! I appreciate this video so much!!! These apartments are totally my style!!😻😻😻😻💫
I am going to start traveling there to see how I like the different areas.
God speaks in mysterious and sometimes obvious ways.😉
Also, in doing a lot of research on Mexico, I've learned that over 100 million Americans have relocated and now live in Mexico. Soooooooo affordable!
100 million?
@@cypher3604 haha. Mexico’s whole population is 120mil.
So one third of the US moved to mexico? Wowzers lol
gurl, you so crazy LOL
Wrong
I find it interesting that while those "contemporary-modern" looking apartment styles have been around down there since the 90's, in the States are barely catching up. I agree they must place rails on those stairs.
Add them yourself. Easy fix.
Definitely would need some rails after a night of Mezcal down there.
Thank you for this video, never thought of moving to Mexico but by the way things are going in the states, I’m trying to get out of here in 5 years😕Wonderful places. Great video👍🏾💕
I really loved EVERYTHING about 3 & 5!!! Ugh, you’re making me consider selling all my stuff and coming down. 🥴 Can’t wait to see what you went with!

It’s kind of ironic: Latin Americans risking their lives to move to the U.S., as Americans are moving to Latin America🤣
Mexican migration to the US has been in the negative numbers for years. It’s the Central American people flooding the borders.
Wrong, not that many Mexicans cross to the US... Mostly are Central Americans and from other countrys.
@@hectorcampos9244 That's true. Born and raised Californian. Have a good government job but still can't afford to comfortably buy. California is outrageous but it'll take me some time and consideration to save and move.
We went to Merida 2 weeks ago, love the place, culture and people are super nice and now we are seriously thinking about moving there.
Super cool places!! Definitely a fan of the private pool apartments. The concrete stairs w/ no railing scares me tho. I’m excited to see which place you decide!!
And you know I AM CLUMSY!! 😂
Awesome to see Americans that love my country as much as I do.
all of them were really nice apartments!! The private pools were amazing.
Hi Howard!!
Thanks for this video, bro. Good luck.
The last one was my favorite. HOWEVER, those stairs without a barrier on one side are a death trap. One slip of a flip-flop on that marble and your toast. Difference between building codes from one country to another.
Literally! Just imagine trying to walk down the stairs at night 😂 be sure to subscribe
@@JulianAlbino lmao
To be honest even in the US people still fall coming down stairs so you roll the dice no matter what
@@bobbybrown1389 Yeah you do. But when the stairs are steep, made out of marble, no hand rails to catch yourself and no wall to stop you from falling a full storey , you odds of serious injury have exponentially risen by 100%
Wooooow I’m really thinking about leaving detroit for Mexico 😍😍😍 it’s easier to escape to than Spain right now.
If you fall down those concrete stairs you go straight through a plate glass window.

Mean while NY apartments ...... so proud to be Mexican and living in Merida. You get much more for what you pay. Everything is beautiful. I live in a house 2 floors, 1 backyard, laundry room outside, 2 bedrooms with a full closet each one, two bathrooms, water is free, it came with furniture the whole house. The natural light is beautiful here. We have a park 3 blocks from here. Drug store, restaurants, small and big grocery stores. The area is one is the nicest of the city, big houses, clean, lots of parks, very safe city.... I pay $600 dlls just that. Meanwhile in another city in Monterrey Mexico you get for that an empty studio for students or single people

I have been to Merida twice...loved it! Safe, walkable and inexpensive.
I wish I could move there ❤️ I am not Mexican but I’ve traveled there to different parts of Mexico 11 times. Way better than $1,950 for a one bedroom ✈️
I know 3 & 5 were favorites for most but not for me. It was too industrial trendy without the warm and fuzzy. The price for all of them is exceptional. Thank you for the videos and the experience.
You are hilarious! I was laughing at your response when she asked you where you was from. 😂🤣 Thanks for sharing!
I liked the first 3 in this video. Wow. Now I know why people go to ‘exiting to live. Prices are absolutely incredible. Wow.
No rails on the stairs... Seriously couldn't do it. Two margaritas and I'm dead.LITERALLY! Lol.

The 2nd apartment is my favorite. In my city, you can't hardly even rent a room for $500-650 and don't even think about an apartment for that amount! We have an enormous housing shortage all the way around. These places you showed us look so inviting! I am so tempted to move from the US!

This was a great video! I'm making plans to do a 3 month visit and had been wondering what the approval process was like for housing...if they did credit checks and such...this was super encouraging!

I have index cards and I know everything, that was removed, and I miss nothing. The index cards had the location, RM#, and contents within Ziplock bags. I do speak Spanish as a second language, and have lived and visited Mexico for almost 60 years, as well as all 50 states, and all over the world on my own dime from WORKING. These apartments are nice & simple especially if your on a budget.
Wow I can't believe the prices are this good. It's so affordable and has so much included. I want them all lol!
More like 3 to be honest
@@kjrom to be honest with you the wages are higher than other countries is a lie I say that because no one that makes 15 or 18 dollars an hour can afford a $2,000 a month apartment unless they are married and have a roommate because you also have other bills to pay groceries gas-electric water Etc so that may end up being about 2700
I am so happy you are exactly where you want to be! Beautiful apartments... I would live in any of them!!! Great job!!! Keep the videos coming!!!
Thanks for watching!
