I have watched this I’m sure 100 times. One of my favorites kids is playing harmonica. I think his name is Craig. Sings with Tuba Skinng. I’m in CANADA. Love you guys we are sure needing you. Keep up the good music.
I am so jealous of all of these great New Orleans musicians. I spend way too much time watching and listening to these awesome videos when all I would really like is to sit in and pick and play along with them!
I'm a mandolin player down here in Louisiana(search "The Petty Bones" here on youtube". I've had the pleasure of jamming with Stalebread Scottie and other street musicians from New Orleans. These guys know what they're doing!
There are members of several bands jamming on "Banjo Blues" along with the Drunken Catfish Ramblers. There's Tuba Skinny,Loose Marbles,Yes Ma'am, and Stalebread Scottie, who also has had his own band. That's Stalebread Scottie on guitar in the center from the Drunken Catfish Ramblers and Stalebread Scottie and His Gang. The banjo player on the left is Joseph Faison. On Scottie's left is Kevin, banjo, Raychel Severance is playing washtub bass behind Scottie, and "Dizzy", washboard, are all from Yes Ma'am. Michael Magro, clarinet was from Loose Marbles. Extreme left is Shaye Cohn, playing spoons and Barnabas Jones guitar, is behind Shaye, and Ryan Baer on mandolin, all from Tuba Skinny.(Ryan's not with them anymore). That's Greg Sherman, harmonica,on Stalebread Scottie's left, from the Drunken Catfish Ramblers, now also with Tuba Skinny.
Cherrl Lynn Yes, he is, Cherrl Lynn. I love his singing style and he has an infectious way of moving/bouncing his body with the rhythm of the song. He always adds something special to any band he plays with. What really surprised me, though, is the clip of him on Treme, talking to Melissa Leo about her daughter. It was a nice bit of acting.
One of the best songs by drunken catfish ramblers was somehow deleted, don't no why. Cant find it since. There were only 5 or 5 of them there. such a great song.
You know ,I always thought that the New Orleans street music is a comprehensive real music with black musicians and here again the whites play awesome music ! ! Welcome from Hungary !
wow! What's makin' ya so tense buddy? It's a happy sounding song about feeling bad, designed to take yer mind off yer troubles. Listen to it a few times and you'll feel better. I know I do! At least until I read your angry comment. Oh hell, I'm not going to let that drag me down! love ya!
Who's your cousin? These are members of more than four bands, some of whom play with other bands. There's the Drunken Catfish Ramblers, Tuba Skinny, Yes, Ma''am, Stalebread Scottie from Stalebread Scottie and His Gang as well as the Drunken Catfish Ramblers and there's also Loose Marbles.
+Just Another Whale You mean Greg Sherman? I mentioned him as now also being with Tuba Skinny and he's a great addition. Check out their recent videos. He's very talented and creative.
Yo wat folks kin come hav a blast now, y'hear- Massa Bush & Marse Brownie done got shed 'o all dem dahkees. Now Nawlin's nuttin bet rich wat tourists. Y'all hav a goodin'
They got one sorta black guy in the band, (banjo), but they've certainly accomplished their gentrification of New Orleans. N.O. used to be the only large Neapolitan City where you could live poor and still do things for fun and be happy. That was the mystery & funky charm of it. I'm dubious about returning there since Katrina. Used to go for New Orleans French Quarter Festival every year, but if I go now and the magic of the old black city is gone I'll surely grieve myself to death!
Love you this is my favourite. Can’t sit still. If I wasn’t 84 I’d fly anywhere to see you. This is 5yrs.
The street musicians seem to all get along so well , lots of smiles and genuine enjoyment! Love it.
