I’m curious, how do you know this is the 1993 version? (This sounds similar to the 1978 version that was discovered on Reddit where William Finn played Marvin and the lyrics are the same)
Because the start and end of the audio connects to the 93 recordings of ‘My Chance to Survive the Night’ and ‘A Breakfast Over Sugar’. The applause of the former is continued into this one, and the first note of the latter is heard at the end. If you line the audio up it all connects perfectly. I also don’t think the 78 recording has audio quality as high as this. What I imagine happened is that this was the version of the song performed in the 79 production (at least to begin with) but had been changed to the more known one by the time they recorded the album
