    Hey everyone, I hope you’re all having a great week so far. I’ve always like Gremlins and Gizmo is my favorite so it seemed like a fun piece to make. I hope you all enjoy it. 👍🏻

      I saw Gremlins way too young (I think I was like 5) and they gave me nightmares, haha :D Lost wax casting is an interesting casting method. Great result! :)

    Now days, with the internet and seeing how so many things are made. You can’t help but make memories of items from childhood. Nice. I like the blend on the head, can’t tell.

    Good choice for a project, it cleaned up better than I expected when I saw the defect.

    What heat bricks do you use? I tried a couple off amazon and they seem to fall apart immediately.

    I think you did an awesome job! Love seeing your process on these statues! How long did it take you to clean it up? You did a great job blending the hair in!

      Thank you. Probably about 2 hours for this one to clean up.

    I hope you've got a couple of weld spots on the baseplate and the tube. If you do get a breakthrough, the pressure and heat of the metal can cause the pure siilcone seal to break, and the metal to lift up the tube itself. If they're tacked and covered over with silicone (inside coat cant' hurt too lol) then you're safer. With how big you've made yours, it's more of an essential safety tip lol They cut off with an anglegrinder in hallf a second, but save you from puddlle of fun xD
    (Yes, I found that out the hard way lol)

    Love it!!😎🤘🤙 What do you think happened to cause spot on his head? I would think the vacuum would have prevented that 🤔

    • @ArtByAdrock
      @ArtByAdrock  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I’m really not sure, maybe the plaster broke off a little.

    • @honthirty_
      @honthirty_ ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Two areas of restricted flow on in- gate caused turbulence. At his feet #1 and feed from below pouring basin to where split for feet. Either maintain flow with a constant cross section in gates or restrict gate and feed from bottom. And plaster still has bonded water in matrix, so molten aluminium fell from feet ~ 4 in to head area, abraded away soft area where you added 2nd pour casting plaster, less silica particles there and big temperature shock.
      Doubt you need the vacuum while casting Al even though jewelry guys swear by the process. If it worked as proposed, why would you need vents at ears, hands etc?
      Just my experience, since 2005, YMMV.

    Nice work🤗 Though maybe that wasn't Gizmo, maybe that was Spike instead with that little deformity on his is head sort of resembled Spike's mohawk. Afterall you did dunk it water to cool off.
