His music!! It sounds very honest for me, that I think if people that doesn’t know about how an artist can be so honest with his music and his live, are not prepared to listen him… so give him a chance ( todays music its not honest; thats how I felt about it)
the love he has for Carl.. so lovely... I've seen them live a few times (even met them once ;) ) and it's like watching 2 lovers sorta.. like at a Fleetwood Mac show.. that chemistry.. so sweet x
Peters as human as you can get. What a guy. Really got a lot of time for him. Would love to have a chat with him myself. Just chat about some random bits and pieces
Im from Bedworth Civic Hall was a classic venue such good memories , its gone now. Love your music Pete seen Babyshambles once in Lincoln once in Manchester Apollo. Nothing but Love x
What a superb exchange. You did such a great job! I like your interviewing style: relaxed, thoughtful not gushing. It sounded like two old mates chatting. Makes me shudder thinking about that old Jonathan Ross interview.
Thanks so much for the lovely comment. It really means the world to read such positive feedback and I really appreciate you taking the time to watch the interview. I’m so glad you enjoyed it
This was a wonderful interview and I loved every minute of it, very inspiring on this cold early afternoon. "Anti-Tetris". Congrats to both you gentlemen.
@@markandme welcome I'm a massive Pete fan and have been for many years, great to see him doing so well and I also really enjoyed his Louie Theroux interview recently it brought up some tears for me.
Love Peter. At the 19:00 mark where he mentions him and Katia had a bit of a falling out over the documentary cause he didn't understand what it's supposed to be about... that actually makes sense with the reviews I'm seeing that state it's not a documentary it's simply a compilation of footage. I wonder why she didn't take his creative insight seriously? I also don't understand the ending of the documentary that's presented as a "happy ever after, friends turns to lovers, and he finally gets clean" cause that ending is in 2014 after a stint at rehab where he did not stay clean... or something.. and he didn't get clean longterm til end of 2019 and him and Katia are on and off that whole time cause there's plenty of interviews where he has a completely different girlfriend even in 2019, so that's weird to me with the documentary. Also isn't it part of the 12 steps or whatever that you don't jump into a relationship when getting sober cause you become dependent on them or something like that.. ?? they literally become lovers while he's at rehab I find it weird to include that in the documentary cause it's a big no no for addicts
Everyones different concerning your last question about their relationship.. Katia and Pete have been on and off since 2014...and Katias not an addict, shes Peters wife and a part of his support system which is very important to have.. Havent yet seen the doc is it on general release?
@@markandmeHowya Mark! (and me😂) ive just finished his book. First time viewer, you conducted a great "interview" here (it felt more like two mates having a chat which is a great trait, good on ye both)
A question l would have liked to have asker Peter ( with us both being contributors to Full Moon Empty Sportsbag ) and sharing the same birthday ( March 12 ), is 'was he aware he shared the same birthday as Jack Kerouac too! Very nice interview. Thanks.
Sorry, 'asked' ( small keypad ). I too think Peter will produce film or new works in the future on a grand scale! Sending all best wishes from Colchester.
Thanks very much. I have some interesting written references here to Peter's life and times including his US immigration interview that was sent to me recently. Also a copy of a quite amazing letter that he wrote shortly after his release from Wandsworth Prison. It is written in prose / poetic form and is a masterpiece in communication. The birthday thing was amazing, it was Dot Allison who informed me of Pete's birthday around 2005. I then linked it to Jack Kerouac and there were other traits too! The US Immigration interview would be tempting to reproduce via text to speech soundtrack ...it's actually quite humorous in a bizarre way! In addition to this l also have transcripts of Peter's Wandsworth journal that was in my opinion a great piece of art. Going to prison on the occasions that Peter did offered an opportunity to be creative from the confines of the environment he found himself in - and he excelled. I would go as far as to say that Peter's work grew in statue during confinement.
I'm curious - did he do the artwork for you? I once donated for a guy called "Online Busker" here on TH-cam and Peter supported him by donating an art print to win for those who donated. I never win anything but that time I did. Felt so surreal to get an art print of Peter (the Orwell one) which I love and got it send by his manager in the middle of the pandemic. When I told friends no one believed me that it would actually arrive, but it did. 😀
It hasn’t come yet but I’ve been told Peter is working on it currently which is exciting. That’s amazing you won one. Feel free to share a picture of it when you can.
How can a yank in California view this ???? Peters “ dark years” are my fave …. Salome , Hired Gun , flags of old regime. Etc …. Anyone throw a hip yank a bone ??? 🤷🏻♂️😂
I don't think Peter will mind my reproducing the following from 'Record of Sworn Statement in Administration Proceedings' - U.S. Department of Justice, Immigration and Naturalization Service. June 10th, 2010, New York. U.S. Immigration. Where did you get arrested? Peter Doherty London, Norway, Thailand, Germany, Spain and Ireland. What were you arrested for in Norway and Spain? Drunk and disorderly. What were you arrested for in Thailand? Drugs What were you arrested for in Germany? Vandalism. What were you arrested for in Ireland? Assault. How much U.S. currency do you have in your possession? Nothing. Where are you going to stay while in the United States on this trip? With a friend at 332 Bowery Apt. 2r New York City. There is lots more. I am in touch with people who were very close to Peter and the word 'genius' has occured more than once.
