Whangārei iwi, Ruakākā community protest sand mining in Bream Bay

Local iwi and hapū from Whangārei, along with the Ruakākā community, are protesting a sand mining project in Bream Bay (Paepae o Tū), Northland. The mining company was previously fined $500,000 for breaching resource consent at Pākirī Beach. Mārena Mane reports.
