    It seems to me that, generally speaking, there are not as many guitar concertos as there are violin concertos or cello concertos. So when I hear this guitar come in I’m a little surprised…this is an exquisite, unique piece of music and I love it! It plays with a fervor and strong melodic line not really heard in the rest of his compositions. This is the one he shines in.

    Purtroppo quasi dimenticato in Italia.Andrebbe riscoperto ed eseguito. Ha scritto tantissima musica.

      Thanks. You're right, Carulli was a great composer, but today, unfortunately, too few people know his music.

    Pepe Romero es un verdadero Maestro de la guitarra y garantía de interpretaciones perfectas

    Super good recording quality, even as a mere video posted on TH-cam... only Pepe Romero has the versatility and prestige to get this kind of invitation from what could be the greatest chamber string orchestra of modern times.

    Maravilloso concierto!! Con reminiscencias clásicas, incluso las cadencias, aunque el desarrollo temático de la guitarra tiende a anunciar el pre-romanticismo en algunos pasajes... En definitiva una joya, gracias por compartir!!

    • @celsorc3172
      @celsorc3172 6 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      no sé a qué va lo de "reminiscencias clásicas" como prefijo a "aunque el desarrollo temático de la guitarra tiende a anunciar el pre-romanticismo (...)", por qué? porque Ferdinando Carulli fue un compositor del período del clasicismo por lo tanto no dijiste absolutamente nada que no sea cronológicamente, en términos musicológicos, obvio.
      Esto sucede porque Carulli estuvo presente en lo que podríamos considerar clasicismo en su formación, rococó y romanticismo en su desarrollo.
      No puede hacerse mención al prerromanticismo ya que es un movimiento literario, incluso pintura pero no así música. Ejemplo de esto es que Johann Wolfang von Goethe es considerado prerromántico en su primera etapa de desarrollo literario.
      Volviendo, el desarrollo temático de la guitarra (no sé si te refieres a lo que diré) está dado al estilo marcado del que proviene. Melodías potentes, temas y motivos repetidos y desarrollados, carentes de la nostalgia y tristeza del barroco (adagio) y más presente el allegro, el largo, incluso aunque no en este concierto, el alegretto, vivace, presto, prestísimo. De esto hay ejemplos como los "divertimentos" compuestos por Carulli.

    Se cae un poquito la orquesta para que se le oiga en momentos comprometidos para la guitarra, pero es una exquisitez.

    Ferdinando Maria Meinrado Francesco Pascale Rosario Carulli 1770 - 1841 ... was taught musical theory by a priest, who was also an amateur musician. Carulli's first instrument was the cello, when he was twenty he discovered the guitar ... As there were no professional guitar teachers in Naples at the time, Carulli developed his own style of playing ... WIKI

    Does someone have the sheet music of this piece for guitar? I can't find it😫

  • @MichaelJTN
    @MichaelJTN ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Perhaps some of the sound has been lost in the quality of the recording, however, from what can be heard in this recording a few things are missing. Unfortunately, the orchestra doesn’t accompany the guitar well, often landing on the offbeat. More dynamic contrast can be expected from the guitar. Some parts are missing the energy that is required by the harmony. In sections with many notes, the melodic line can be highlighted more clearly.
    Often, imagining the music being sung, and with different characters as if in an opera, can help with the interpretation.
    Therefore the process in learning a piece like this should not be rushed, otherwise details like these can be missed.

    The orchestral part is awesome but when the guitar gets in . . .
    It loses its soul
    It feels like 2 different pieces that are unconnected which doesnt feel right
    I dislike the solo
