Another fine ammonite educational video! I'm returning again to Whitby 11th - 18th February following my trip last October but this time I have an assistant as my daughter will be joining me. I hope to put all of your advice tips gained from watching your videos into practice and looking forward to a successful few days with hopefully some stormy seas to add to the excitement and chances of finding some great fossils. Good luck and keep up the great work!

the one you open at min 26:25 with the oily colours. perhaps the change of humidity, temperature etc helped the development of some kind ofbacteria ,a chemical process inside of it . i find it interesting ...i noticed many layers are lost in hammering them .min 33:15 sooo beautiful

Happy new year! I just got back from Whitby the tides and weather weren’t too good. Managed to find a dac and some kind of shell so I’m happy. I hope 2023 brings more finds for everyone.

I might be wrong but doesnt the firming if oil, shale gas etc rely in the fermentation of fossiliferous materials ??

My 6 year old has taken an interest in fossil hunting videos (and yours is his favourite)
Am wanting to bring him up to the Yorkshire coast to have a look and a go at hunting for some. Where would be the safest place to start with?

Every one of those ammanites was great . I love your online selection of fossils for sale I bought a 117 dollar ammonite set from you and can’t wait to get it . Would it be worth it to buy a 6 set of unopened ammonite fossils?

Has anyone said anything about the oil? Or could it be the breakdown that would eventually end up as crude oil?
