When car camping, I find it much easier to bring water than try to find water to filter or purify. A small collapsible jug (easy to pack but more prone to leaks or not packing as well) or a more rigid plastic or metal container filled up at home can get you through everything from a night to a few days and is more convenient than trying to filter or purify a water source that may or may not be near your campsite. And if you use something between 1-5 gallons it’s still easy to move around your campsite.

I definitely want to look at some metal options! I have a large plastic jug, but idk if it actually tastes funny when I use it or if it's in my head... Either way I definitely think refillable is the better option if you're going to do more camping!
