  • As promised a fun garden center visit with lots of beautiful flowers to enjoy. This is a long one but I cut out about half of it! It was a perfect way to spend a rainy day, even if I did get a little wet.
    Hi, I am Pamela and I garden in the mountains of Northern California. I am in Zone 8. I defy convention and break many garden 'rules' yet my garden is a tapestry of color and unruly beauty! I want you to be inspired to create a beautiful garden.

    I planted a climbing rose called William Baffin a couple of years ago but I have not trellised it yet and it has survived -10F. It's very cold hardy.

      I love William Baffin, I had it several years ago. I had to dig it out as it looked like it had gotten rose rosette disease. It was such a hardy vigorous climber and it bloomed so beautifully. I have yet to replace it.

      Yes Janey and her daughter's were here yesterday. They got all the stuff to make the girl's their fairy garden. I turned out so cute and also her oldest daughter wrote a story that fit the fairy garden perfect. It was a wonderful little story, gave me a few cold chills. Thank you so much for sharing this with us. Great video. I know that you and Janey are friends. That's why I mentioned her.❤

    Love green acres! There’s one about 5 minutes from my house in Citrus Heights. My husband goes crazy with the fruit trees and vegetable plants, I buy the flower plants. I’m not sure if they still have this policy but a few years ago I bought a couple of Japanese maples, one didn’t make it. They said to hold on to your receipt up to a year they give you your $ back. They did I got my $200 back. If you can, take a trip to High Hand Nursery in Loomis and Bushnell’s in Granite Bay.

    Thank you for highlighting some items inside. When I'm at Green Acres I'm always bee-lining to the outdoors. I'll have to stop at the bulbs and seeds next time I go. My local GA is Folsom but it's on my list to vist Elk Grove and Rocklin.

    • @FlowerPatchFarmhouse
      @FlowerPatchFarmhouse  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I haven't visited the Folsom one yet, I am sure it is lovely. They had a great selection of bulbs so I was in good time and they let me know more roses will be in next month. Different growers release them at different times. So a trip back is in order for the Sun Blaze Dragon Fruit on my wishlist.

    I want that store in Massachusetts! I always gravitate to the pansies & violas too. I learned about the lily pollen being poisonous to cats last yr. I repositioned where my lilies are this yr away from where my cat hangs. I also read you can cut the pollen sacks off. I think I will do that this yr. I only have about 20, so not much work. My cats my garden buddy & my Husband loves the lilies, so I strive make everyone happy.

    • @FlowerPatchFarmhouse
      @FlowerPatchFarmhouse  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

  • @dustyflats3832
    @dustyflats3832 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

    Wow! What a fabulous nursery! Thanks for the armchair shop! Did you get the several roses I pointed at?😂😂
    I have several extra houseplants now also with an incorrect shipment. I have 2 Christmas cactus and an orchid and that’s my limit and these others are too much.
    Absolutely the same about Orange mixed with pink anything! I’m mixing in baby’s breath and it’s amazing how that sets everything off. So dreamy.
    I have the Ebb Tide and Julia Child as I loved the contrast and they are own root. At least if they do die back they will come back true. This will be second year and hoping for fantastic year.
    Now I’ve always heard calla Lillie’s were funeral flowers, but I suppose they use more glads now.
    Just seen local article about skiers found 1100’ elevation with trees that still had snow and shore line is 500’ and no snow. It’s really hot here for this time of year-60*F on February 21st in WI is Weird and for weeks at a time it’s been more late March April temperatures. 😮
    I don’t believe we have anything in our stores yet, but who knows with these temps. I know we can’t plant for a long ways out yet-at least normally. But what’s normal anymore? It’s a huge chance until June 1st.

    • @FlowerPatchFarmhouse
      @FlowerPatchFarmhouse  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yes, this year is definitely so strange. Last year we had 6 feet of snow on the ground at this time. This year, we got a dusting last night but all rain. (which I am thankful for). I must confess, buying plants is my addiction, but in my defense, I am slowly trying to replace the tons of asiatic lilies the gophers decimated. They were so reliable for me in the past.

    • @dustyflats3832
      @dustyflats3832 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@FlowerPatchFarmhouse yes, that’s upsetting to lose plants to rodents and wildlife. Love asiatics and long time ago I had a yellow lily with fragrance and don’t know the name, but very nice.

    I live in the valley I Turlock, and fir the life of me I cannot figure out where on earth in Contra costa county you live that gets snow, and has pine trees and ferns grow like weeds. I used to work in Pleasant Hill which is in CC County and never saw any of that. Obviously there is an area that I did not know was CCCounty. From your weather you’ve mentioned I would have guessed you were in the foothills
