Fun fact; Tea was so important to the British war effort, British troops were supplied with more tea by volume than anything else except small-arms ammunition.
I love your nice nature Taff, you keep it clean and kind and respectful all the time.............. and you don't execute your nappers which is always a plus :)
Yep! The most famous was HMS Campbeltown (formerly USS Buchanan) which was used in the St Nazaire raid in 1942. Strange fact - the US Navy ordered 50 of these destroyers to be built in 1916 but ended up with 111 of them by the end of WW1. There was such a surplus that many were converted to mine-sweepers and, even then, it was 1932 before the US Navy felt the need to order any further destroyers at all.
The entire cargo of two freighters was tea?????? Great Balls of Fire, I never would have thought tea was a valuable war material, but I yield to EggnogTheNog's obvious superior intellect! What is this? Sleeping on watch!!! You clean the head with your toothbrush!! Let that be a lesson!
And Us Yanks always do everything big. so we just made the biggest patch of tea. Though you limeys would like it. We were going to make some crescents too but them lobsters wouldn't send the flour.
@@noseyparker6969 the 4 stacker was a Town Class destroyer (formaly Wickes class in the USN) they were transferred to the UK navy early in the war in trade for bases around the world. A total of 50 of these destroyers were sent to the UK during WW2. Im sure Taff woulda noticed eventually but he is getting old 🤣
True fact one of my ancestors came to America aboard one of the 3 ships involved in the Boston Tea party incident and start his new life in eastern Pennsylvania and later to Ohio after the Revolutionary war came to an end.
I think that the tanker you attacked and initially described as an OL class, is not an Oi class, so pronounced "OL". I may be wrong....as it`s a Dale. Anyway Oi is actually and OL. I think.
If they tried to keep the game historically accurate, why did they create fictitious commanders? U-552 was commanded by Erich Topp not Herman von Danningberg.
I did want to ask - question, not critique - that NA-1, it's not armed, so why use a torpedo and not the deck gun. I'm trying to understand your tactical thinking and was curious, hope you don't mind I asked. As to your American viewers and the tea ... yes (sigh) we're Philistines. :P :)
I think skipper/Watch officer isn't very good candidate for Iron fist skill, since he spends most of his time at either UZO or periscope. Chief Botswain could be better...
Great video regardless of the tea wise acre joke. Just remember if it wasn't for the USA you Brits would be speaking German and goosestepping...just kidding.
Хорошая игра, но есть вопрос. Почему подводники после торпедирования не поднимаются и не расстреливают тех, кто выжил. Это же у европейцев такая традиция убивать всех, кто не по нраву.
Plenty of US cargo ships were sunk in the Atlantic before they joined the war. Unlike the Lusitania, they were strictly cargo ships operated by a branch of the US Navy so the US government could not make the claim that the Germans were targeting civilians from a neutral country.
You do know that Taff is playing as a U-boat skipper in the Deutsche Kriegsmarine? If the Yanks are silly enough to sail into a warzone as part of a convoy taking supplies to a belligerent nation, do you think Herr Hitler and Admiral Doenitz are going to have any qualms about looking on them as an enemy and, therefore, a legitimate target? Get real! The truth is the US Government gave Britain 50 WW1 vintage destroyers for use in convoy escort duty under Lend-Lease Agreement, so I'm sure a deranged nutter like Hitler would have considered that an act of war and ordered his naval commanders to show no mercy to any U.S. flagged ships.

What a bad game, they should've added sailors jumping off the boats etc, see them leaving in rescue boats, but no nothing... You should be able to capture crew from the target boats, or even shoot them down as they try to rescue themselves... This is what devs are doing, they go the cheapest way possible, and don't want to put more work into it then they really need...

And whiskey

Yep, good work, sailor at the bow, make sure that deck is properly mopped, it's gonna need it lol
Talk about being in denial. Lol

We only did that in streams :) After a vote of course.
It amazes me, how long you leave the periscope up, and the destroyers don't charge you!
It wasn't a Caldwell Class. It was one of the 4-stackers the USA lend leased to UK in exchange for the bases on Iceland.

Well Caldwells, Wikes and Clemsons all seemed to have a similar build. But I am not sure I've heard of some with the fourth funnel removed.

The tea in the water incident,it was our pleasure! You're welcome!!!! Jk! Love all your content, keep up the great work!!!!

Always enjoying this content
Civilians call it a toilet. The Army calls it a 'latrine.'
But in the Navy, it's a 'head.' "Clean the head you bilge rat!"
In Scotland, we call it a "cludgie" or a "thunderbox"!
Watched and 👍 Liked
Are you sure about that destroyer...? One has 3 funnels and the other has four
Also, look amid ships, different

we made the biggest cup of tea in homage to your culture.
If you want to see we Americans have a heart attack dump coffee into the sea. We're 98% addicted. lol
You are awesome!
Great video :)
All in fun my tea island brother. Family still.
From Boston..tea party ..😆
True fact one of my ancestors came to America aboard one of the 3 ships involved in the Boston Tea party incident and start his new life in eastern Pennsylvania and later to Ohio after the Revolutionary war came to an end.
that is an amazing fact as a pennsylvanian whom is part welsh.
Iron Fist AKA Taff's Luger....RIP to the Uboat Chat crew XD Didn't someone get executed like 4 times? 😂
You mean you aren't supposed to dump tea in seawater?
Well i've been doing that wrong for a decade or two.
That was... um... a group of natives who dumped the tea in Boston harbor. 😏 Yes, definitely a group of natives. 🤥
Love you but coffee > tea. Not even close :)
most of us Americans still don't know how to make a proper cup of tea no worries buddy lol
that's because we make iced tea
Not the tea....anything but the tea

Sinking a ship full of tea... why didn't the British surrender immediately? I believe that is how the revolution was won? :P
I'm an American and it was funny sad thing is is most Americans probably don't even know what you're talking about

Is it possible to find your targets distance while timing their speed? Time saving?
Probably not
The need more fire smoke and slower sinking.
Question here, how do you know the course of targets?
@@BrySmi thx bro
19:25 whats annoying is that your crew will operate the other periscope, so its really pointless. Sad noises

Don't blame the ' Chief '.
12900 km in 8 days? 🙃
Roughly a warping speed of 70 km/h. That´ what I call a speedboat.

English is a form of German Anglo-Saxon Saxons come from Germany

Still do not understand how u are figuring AOB in your calculation....
You seem to be figuring it by just looking at it....
Looking for a good U boat game.is there one better than this?
Yes. Silent Hunter 3 modded is unbeatable
Wait...isnt the US technically still neutral in April 1941? Is Taff trying to rewrite history by dragging the US into the war early?

Can you sink a ship with one torpedo in this game?
Yes even destroyers
Lend lease destroyer's we lent UK. USA gave UK 50 DD's all from WW1 classes of 4 stack flush deck destroyers. your welcome

You can "capture" crew from the lifeboats, just get close enough and the options are there.
