Discard is definitely my favourite Archetype. And as you said Regis: Spider-Ham sucks really bad since this 1-Energy Shithead singlehandedly shuts down my deck. Not being able to play my fave deck in Conquest feels really bad, i hope they change Spider-Ham sooner than later.
@@gundamexiaa I don't know if you ever played discard before, but yes, that deck depends on two key cards which both are high cost and thus being targeted by ham makes it difficult to win. i don't have a problem with counters, that's totally fine - tech cards need to exist, but ham is not only very impactful but it being only 1 cost and thus being played multiple times just seems off balance-wise. it having the effect like spiderman 2099 which can only go off once or having a higher cost (or like magik only able to be played on a specific turn) would be better. also i think besides the strong effect and low cost the intel the player running ham gets is too much. he doesn't need to go away, but he need tuning. currently there is no tradeoff running him and in my opinion which that strong of a effect he needs to have some sort of risk (sera being 5 and thus sacrificing a whole turn for instance).
Took this deck all the way to infinite this morning with a 100% win rate. 2-0 and 10 cubes means best deck in the format. I want that hit monkey variant that was dodging your Gambit.
I like gambit as a card but its the randomness that is such a big turn off because it almost ALWAYS hits a important card you wanted to keep like modok.

In theory it gets people more cards, which is cool, but removing player agency and adding more obfuscation sucks and makes people annoyed. Anytime you need entire videos explaining how a system works and how to maximize it, something fishy is going on or will be.

Isn't Discard and Handbuff sort of an anti-synergy? It's interesting to me that this is an archetype. It's sometimes an advantage, with like, Dracula, but otherwise why? Like if Gambit discards a Nakia buffed card, it doesn't help much. I suppose the main benefit is Swarm, which is a cool little used synergy.
Swarm and your discard. Essentially you use Nakia for bonus stats on Swarm and Apocalypse while also making your discard cards better. You usually only want to discard 2 cards in this deck

First match is the perfect example of the bs ‘rng’ I see all the time. Of all the cards gambit discarded, it discarded modok- the only card you DID mind losing. And even if you destroyed Zabu, they got an extra one from the hub. Flipping ridiculous.
Blows my mind how content creators are not talking about how bad the new spotlight cache system and are in fact promoting it as a good thing. Really disappointed because as a community they have the biggest voice and have the potential to make change.
