I’m with you on wanting to see strong female characters, instead of just being told they are strong. An author I really love, who writes all strong female leads, is K.M. Shea. I cannot recommend her enough! She writes clean, fun fantasy and fairytales.

I added a good few books to my tbr list now, thanks!! I really want to read the The Bookstrings series, and The Light Between Worlds now. I also have your daughter's book in my cart to buy! I read Luck of the Titanic, and gave it 4 stars, it was decent, but I feel like I do remember it being kind of slow the first half.

I just checked a ton of fantasy out from Libby so hopefully I will have some good reads during this really less than exciting season.... It seems in the spring I get a bout of fantasy craving and then in a week or so I get it out of my system. I wonder if it's just a reset I need?

I don't remember if I DNFed any books in February...
    But, I finished only three:
    1. "Dune" by Frank Herbert - 5 stars out of 5 - I like this book and I re-read it several times BUT I discovered that reading about a desert in Winter when my toes are cold is slightly less fun then reading this in the summer!
    2. "A Whale of the Wild" by Rosanne Parry - 3 stars - I liked learning about Orcas BUT it was kind of sad
    3. *The Island of Adventure " by Enid Blyton - 5 stars - such a fun adventure, mystery, suspense kids novel , and I loved it. I had never heard of this author but looking forward to reading nore of this series (this is book 1 of 8 or 6 I think).

I hope you enjoy the rest of Mistborn Era 2! And I feel like you do get more of the female characters in the sequels, especially Steris.
I enjoyed 11/22/63 when I read it years ago (except for certain scenes), and while I think I would still enjoy the time travel aspects of it (how it all works), I don't think I would enjoy the book as a whole as much if I read it for the first time today.
I've been hearing about Dear Henry, Love Edith everywhere. Apparently I just need to pick it up.

I found a book you may want to check out, it is "One Puzzling Afternoon" by Emily Critchley
It's about an old woman who sees a girl who disappeared when they were young and the girl is still as young as she was back then. It's the audible Daily deal in the US but I don't know if it is also on sale in Canada

I like Winter, White and Wicked but I could see why it wouldn’t work for some people as I didn’t even get all the lore stuff down when I read it though hopefully upon reread it’s better. I actually prefer this author’s Christian spiritual warfare trilogy Angel Eyes over Winter as it’s really good!

How funny. I LOVED "The Love Note." Mostly because that note wasn't just a romantic sap fest--nor was the book. I loved the unusual ending. That was excellent, too. And it's odd that I didn't even notice how much of it had to do with misunderstandings! LOL. I wonder if I'll like it as much in a reread or not.
I always think of the Anne books (of the Island I think) where they mention The Pickwick Papers and I think it's Philippa who says it always makes her hungry. That's the only reason I ever wanted to read it #BecauseDickens.
A Caribbean Mystery is one of my favorites but it's not one of my favorite movies.
I LOVED Nothing Else but Miracles but you aren't alone. Some people didn't like it either. I didn't remember that one having irreverent uses of God's name. Need to go check that out because I wouldn't want to recommend it without a caveat. Hmmm...
I LOVED Dear Henry, Love Edith. I will never see epi pens the same again.
Oh... I... have I even heard of The Light Between Worlds? I NEED THIS BOOK! Off to find. Whoa! It sounds AMAZING. Just bought it.
Oh, and I'm glad you enjoyed Clock Tower. And I am 100% serious. If I owned a bookstore, Raeca's book would be on the shelf. Always.

-The Amulet of Samarkand by Johathan Stroud

My top February book was The Library of the Sapphire Wind by Jane Lindkold in which 3 nearly retired women get sent into another world to help 3 teens complete an adventure. So a Librarian, an Archeologist, and another women get jolted from a boring book club to explore a new world and help in an epic adventure with 3 animal headed kids.
