I missed the same last flying baby too man - I'm almost done with the video and I have the exact same opinion on the things you bring up, very good video so far. Splendid as always.
/Edit: done with the video and I gotta say, your retrospective is spot on! I too enjoyed Blasphemous 1 more and I can't pinpoint exactly why.
Thank you so much for an hour and eleven minutes of joy (and music to my ears) that awaits me, Candle type 1a ❤️
32:45 Gotta love a flying buttress..or 50 😍 another fantastic commentary 🎉
Ah, Flying Buttress, so that's what they're called!
@@candletype1a447 aye! The medieval cathedral architects invented them to transfer the immense weight of high vaulted ceilings out of the buildings and into the ground...functional, AND fabulous 🤩
Glad im not the only one a little dissapointed with Blasphemous 2. 1 blew me away on many occasions. 2 didnt really do that very muh at all. The reflection level was my favorite though.
I shouldn’t be watching this, as I have yet to finish 1 or even play 2… but what the heck, let’s go!
Watched a lot of your videos. You seem to me to be very funny, positive and all around pleasant person and your videos are immaculate in how they both entertaining and funny And insightful (lies of p is also excellent one you've done i feel). Thx you for your love and effort))
Aw, thanks so much for saying that!
I honestly liked Blasphemous 2 better than the first one, for some reason it was much more interesting and engaging
Blasphemous 2 was a little disappointing imo. However, this game at least feels more complete at launch than B1. Let’s just hope the eventual DLC and superbosses make this game truly complete.
Sadly, the artstyle direction and lore can’t really be changed too much at this point. However, gameplay is the most integral part of this game, and that part could definitely be redeemed.
And also thank God the fans are actually willing to criticize this game instead of just fanboying. This community really knows what it wants and they’ll make sure the Devs know it while not outright hating. I can’t say the same thing about Starfield though, where the fans are in absolute denial that the game is bad, even though it’s obviously shit.
Constructive Criticism is after all the only thing that can save the Tripple A side of the gaming landscape, and the more we reject it, the worse it’s just gonna get.
Not watching this unless I finish B2 but have a like already bc you’re pumping out new content great channel man
I’d like to hear your thoughts on Sunless Sea sometime.
Funnily enough, my very first video on the channel was a short Sunless Sea retrospective which I put out nearly a year ago today, though not sure I'd recommend you watch it cos it's very rough around the edges lol, and the sound quality is awful.
I have thought about putting out a much better video on Sunless Sea, but the issue is that it'd probably get even less views than this video, and as cynical as it sounds, I can't afford to work on videos for a week or two for them to only generate about £4 in ad revenue haha
Dude ever since your bloodborne video I’ve been #1 fan man, you deserve more attention, I’m very glad that you’ve seen so much attention with only forty videos. God bless
Haha, thanks so much man; it feels both awesome and surreal to have fans! And thank you so much for becoming a Patron btw!
Glad you noticed so fast, you better earn those four dollars. Your entire life in indebted to me from this moment onward
@@1liver966 I will serve you well!
I’ve beaten the first Blasphemous twice but bounced off Blasphemous 2 after a few hours. This video has inspired me to give it a second chance.
I found the boss lineup to be pretty underwhelming. Not very many cool big ones. I was hoping for them to be on the quality of the dlc bosses in 1.
I really need to give Blasphemous a try. It's one of those games that I have heard is great but never got around to
yessssss i 100%d both!
Parry is king for Eviterno’s 2nd phase, during his up swing and low swing combo if you perfect parry the low attack it slows him down a great deal, perfect for letting off a prayer.
Honestly felt like they forced the dual blades playstyle at the very end. The censur is pretty much useless. And I just never felt like my single blade was strong or fast enough to keep up momentum.
Ah, the miracle... Not at all mysterious if you ask me, even before Wounds of Eventide I understood its motives and why they did it, what surprised me was the fact that they need an avatar to represent them which has a sort of will of their own and sort of their own agenda.
The High will and the Miracle are pretty much like the Idea of Evil and the Apostles, beings born out of the collective subconscious, a desire for punishment and it manifested accordingly to their desires and much more. So this whole mysterious deal ain't that big. It's a much more straightforward thing compared to Dark Souls which deals with a bunch of different religious ideas that contrast (and history facts too because It seems that Miyazaki is a history geek).
i just cant get into the pixelated design. it friggin hurts my eyes and gives me headaches. if it looked like ender lilies then id be playing these games all the time.
Idk this game is as far from religious as one can get. It's far more cultish, occult and sacrilegious with touches of Catholicism, witch does possess elements not found in Judeo-Christianity.
You could even call it blasphemous

I say this whenever it comes up, but the "biblically accurate angels" has been taken out of context to a massive degree, though I'm not sure it's Christians that actually believe it. Angels are depicted on the Ark of the Covenant, where God's presence dwelled in the inner most sanctum of the tabernacle. They are humanoid beings with wings, not amalgamations. The verses the wheels appear in are alongside a many-faced creature with wings similar to angels, so this is actually the being more like an angel and not the wheels, that the wheels follow alongside with God's throne carry atop (starts at Ezekiel 1:5 through most of the chapter), all of this within a vision never meant to take literally as visions are symbolic and said to be so in the Bible itself. People don't know what the visions means, so they take it at face value like Revelation's beasts and make some fantastical mythos out of it when it actually represents earthly kingdoms symbolized as characteristic beasts.
Every other places angels are mentioned you see them characterized as beings with wings or taking a human form, but never what's found only within a one particular vision given to a prophet and later explained. the context in which Ezekiel is having the vision relates to he and his people were in captivity and he saw a chariot throne pulled by the many-faced beasts and the "wheels" of the chariot were the many faced ones. Each part is describing God's dominions and characteristics traits, the wheel of eyes symbolizing omnipotence as they see in all four directions.
