This episode had several excellent examples of symbolism with Himmel as Sky(Himmel means Sky/Heaven in German).
When Heiter fell, we saw the massive rain storm. Himmel was crying.
When Heiter tells Fern about his lost friend in the flashback, the backdrop is a clear blue sky.
When Frieren finds the Blue Moon Weed, she is framed against a beautiful sky, showing Himmel is with her and happy.
The names in Frieren are all German words. Knowing what they mean isn't necessary, but there is a lot of added value with symbolism and such.

There was recently a story like a month or two ago, where a Taiwanese man helped stop a knife attack on the Taichung metro because his anime hero, Himmel "would've done the same."

The time skips are becoming shorter, if you have noticed. As if there is more attention paid to the present.
When the ep.1-4 prologue finishes, more of the series will begin to make sense.
The music has an immense impact on the scenes, intended to be more a part of the series than expected.

You schould work on your edit, there is a lot of cuts that takes from the scenes. Maybe choose less scenes but play it little longer.
