I don't think it's black art. I think it's about roots, heritage and history. Everything from the Kente cloth floating around Sza to the Dandy men subculture in Congo (those men in suits) and the Goddesses at the end. I love how Kendrick has been educating himself and others about black heritage these last few years! He was definitely the perfect choice to curate the soundtrack for the film! Dope video! Dope reaction!

BEEN WAITING FOR THIS😍 also what all the stars means is when it comes to kendrick’s verse that no matter what happens fame, money and people won’t change him. he also talks about truth and how it comes from the inside and the knowledge of self. sza talks about her reachin her dreams as she says in the chorus. her verse talks about love and havin no control over it, no on or off switch which kendrick also talks about the feelin of love in the pre chorus.

This song was from the point of view of T'Challa. If youve seen the movie you know when he said i had people who feel entittled...he was referring to Killmonger wanting the throne and feeling like Wakanda owed him something for his fathers death. He then says "I domt wven like you"....this is how he felt anout him. The chorus is a nod to the process in which they go to see the ancestors. He went there to speak with his father to let him know what to do next.

What's going on with these tall women is, Kendrick Lamar is paying homage to those beautiful carbon based Goddesses that lived and ruled this world aeons ago.
