Here we go again, ladies and gentlemen! Ever since uploading SERVERBLIGHT, people have been asking us the same questions; What is it like to be assimilated? How does it work? Well, since this is quite an interesting topic to explore, I decided to write a little script to take a look at the process. And of course, I also took the opportunity to push the envelope and introduce some live-action elements. All that presented new challenges as well as new ways to evolve the series. I hope it worked as well as we intended and I hope you all enjoy!

They’ve always been able to do that I believe. Ar at least cause the humans to assimilate with their in game characters and the game. Now the question is, is the blight really in real life? Or has this player been pulled into the game world enough for interaction? Or maybe it’s all in their head? The lack or concrete understanding makes it even more terrifying
@@fnaffan-cg1gd it looks like it kills them in real life and their consciousness is pulled into the game, and it looks like they just suddenly died, so their family/friends wont even know what happened to them or that there was any foul play involved at all

@@eclate_666I think that was just its first clumsy attempts at getting people to come closer to it so it could spread. I think it's learned by now that it doesn't work.
The Serverblight has infected enough players to the point that not only it can make a convincing Tf2 casual match, but also mimics player banter in the chat as well. I also like to think that it chose Dustbowl to populate since that map is one of the most played maps in tf2 and that it doesn't have sections where it kills you like cliffs and sawblades. It has learned so much since we first saw it and it's getting smarter every encounter.
Aaron doomed TF2 By "kicking" Scubamaster25... maybe Serverblight expetected that?

So now we have confirmed two things. One, cloaking as a spy doesn't seem to be all that effective. Not against assimilated members of your own team at least. And two, when you're assimilated, your corpse is left in the real world while your consciousness is sucked into the game and, by extension, the Blight. This series is proving to be incredibly interesting and I can't wait to see more. Keep up the amazing work

ehh I think it was just a seizure induced death, with how quickly the monitor was bugging I think its a plausible theory.

Not only did this showed us that the "parasite" also afects you irl, but it also explained Why there were some players who's characters were so animated like the kys engenier and the blue soldier, because YOUR slowly becoming the character in the game.

Something just occurred to me, i always thought that computer monsters like serverblight could be beaten by just unplugging the computer or something like that but if this monster can force your consciousness into your game character then it's possible that pulling the plug too late would just disconnect you from your real life body rather then save you from the monster.

well if it forces you to inhabit your body and the fact that spy sat down not due to an emote what would be stopping me from Alt + f4ing myself in the game? its already proven that you can do things outside the games normal scope of possibility's since the spy was on the ground
@@KaijuLock Episode 2's JonyDany12 managed to disconnect, but was Blighted in episode 3. Jumping off the map may be the only surefire way to get it off your tail.

the only place that's remotely safe in this part of Dustbowl is the passage between red spawn and first point after first point is capped. it can't jump high enough to get to the door. but you'd just be stuck there forever.
I like how even in the "match" in the beginning, you can already tell that it feels odd and wrong. That Soldier shooting into that same spot in that same repeating way that looks suspiciously like a pattern, the killcam not triggering when he gets killed by the Demoman, the Engineer trying to upgrade his now nonexistent teleporter, the Sniper "pretending" not to notice him, until it all goes downhill fast. These small details really sell the ominous and "something's wrong" feeling that the Serverblight has.

Man, I love how much each episode adds to the serverblight. To think it’d recreate an entire server being played like an actual match to set up a trap to catch one person, and it made it impossible for them to escape this time with no kill zones. We didn’t even confirm if the main blight was in that server, all those could have just been the drones running that fake server.
There is no "main blight". The thing runs with all its parts, some of its parts, or completely separate. It's a sadistic being that gets a thrill out of terrorizing and fooling its prey till it finally consumes them, even to the point it'd go all out and fake an entire match just to strike fear in one player. Frankly its a wonder if it'll ever decide to go full fusion considering the fact its more practical to separate itself.
@@memeymeme. It'll probably go full merger when it needs raw bulk over numbers, it's smaller parts have been established as frail already (despite being reusable), so there's going to be situations where it's gonna need a combined healthpool (such as focused fire from multiple sources).
It would have had the ability to use people’s minds and souls so they can get into your head so it can multiply. This is like the scratch universe.

I think it stays away from the official servers and hunts in the low pop community ones. Less "eyes". Plus, seeing its ability to harm people in the real world, it could just as easy crash or log out of TF2 so people don't know what the victim was doing.
Now the BIG question is this: What if the gamer has a buddy with him IRL when hes playing? What does HE see?

It took me a few watches to notice that at the beginning the fake players weren't even trying to actually play the game. It looks like what a robot thinks normal gameplay looks like but when you look closely they are all just running in the same spot back and fourth repeatedly, and not even aiming for each other. Most obvious is Blu Pyro just spraying fire over and over in an empty spot.
I just realized at 2:27 you can see the sniper hands not holding the gun properly.
That's one of the Serverblights waiting for blu spy to pass so he can assimilate each other.

Well... as horrific as all this was, I'm at least glad to know that the POV Spy of this video was just another unfortunate player that had no idea what he was getting into and not a showcase of Breadolphin getting caught by the Serverblight after his initial escape in The Empty Server. With how the 'One Eye Has Closed' post clearly showcases his hat, I can only assume the next video in the series will be from his POV, and hopefully, he'll fare much better than the unfortunate spy player in this video... well, assuming the video isn't some sort of prequel or something.
Either way, very glad to know that the only other person we know of other than Aaron that escaped the Blight is still at large and didn't just delay the inevitable.

Worst part is Breadolphin could be walking right into assimilation, it saw the blue spy even when he was cloaked so he might get up close and then have no time to react when it shows it can see him.
It is not a prequel, Scubamaster69 the Heavy only got eaten last video. This is a sequel.
I like the way you use the real life stuff to show the syrenix’s pov outside the game and what happened to him after getting assimilated I love that
Neat details I noticed:
At 2:45 the exact time he kills a medic, he starts to assimilate. Likely, he's already been infected at this point and beyond that the Serverblight was probably toying with him.
At 1:47 'Syrenix' gets cold, this is probably a sign relevant to the Serverblight. Its also in the PUPPET video and through Jony's death that being cold is a prevalent sign of the serverblight.
And one more thing, at the beginning sequence of the video, the "players" are fighting but subtly trying not to actually hit each other, hinting that all of them are part of the serverblight. For instance on 0:31 you can hear the BLU pyro use the flamethrower, when none of the RED team (Demoman, medic, heavy, engineer, and sniper) are even trying to get close. I think this is might imply that the serverblight COULD hurt itself on accident. It's most likely that the "fights" are coordinated, like the BLU soldier purposefully missing shots. Also notice how none of the players die, except for when 'Syrenix' kills the medic.
And one last thing. At 4:29 'Syrenix' is most likely fully assimilated into the game. And I think that the players' surroundings when they are fully assimilated stay where they originally were. Since that continuing on from this time stamp, even though he was at the cap point he was still in the tunnel IRL. So, this might be a bit of a stretch but heres my theory for JonyDany12:
It was likely that he was assimilated when his legs were grabbed in the Migration video, and I think that him being cold, and not being able to recognize his environment in the main SERVERBLIGHT video was either because: a.) he was assimilated the moment he left, so he is left in some sort of limbo which explains being cold and not recognizing the place or b.) the server where he was assimilated got shut down, so he still is in some sort of limbo, just a different reason.
Why are people not commenting that much on this one? This one is probably the longest one.

Why Aaron was not assimilated then? Either the spy was fully pulled into the game, but not fully assimilated or his assimilation wasn’t complete yet and server blight need to physically capture you to complete assimilation. As we know dying in kill zones saves you, so that means server blight need to ‘touch’ your body to finish the process. It’s can’t be finished without that touch

@@Caxapok22121 I think you've just answered your own question. Aaron hasn't fully assimilated yet because he hasn't had any physical direct contact with the serverblight. Notice how the classes he's played are soldier and sniper, classes that use their primary more than their melee. The spy in this video fully assimilated because he "touched" the serverblight (when he backstabbed the medic.) Where I think theres a pattern of how you get infected, either the serverblight gets to you, or you get lured by it and kill it using melee.
I think one of my favorite parts about this is that it's horror which puts an entirely new spin on the genre of what's known within TF2 while still sticking within the rules of what TF2 has already established. You work with the guidelines of what the game already provides and then you carve out entirely new ideas based on it. The Blight isn't some omnipotent unbeatable invincible 'thing', it had to start somewhere, and it had to learn just as much as the few that escape it have also had to learn about it.
First it was people escaping via map hazards, so the Blight seems to have inevitably started favoring maps that have less and less of, then entirely lack them.
Then that one engineer escaped via ALT-F4 or something that circumnavigated being unable to disconnect without suicide, and seemingly taught it how to leave a server, too.
At first it didn't talk at all, it just puppeteered those it caught and would stalk and then charge anyone it could.
Then it got someone who had talked with text, and learned how to use text.
Then with voice, and it learned how to mimic voice.
Now we're at a point where it's intentionally going as far as mimicking fake matches with player banter and the usual class dynamics and passing up countless times where it could've easily gotten someone because it seems to enjoy luring them in, toying with them, the fear and the dread.
Every single time it's getting smarter and better at keeping up the illusion while it decides when to break it, and what I find myself left to wonder is if anyone that encounters it is going to be smart enough, quick enough, or good enough to come up with some way to fight it back. What about hurt triggers? What if whatever this thing is could be baited to trip VAC somehow? Could a skilled Pyro airblast an instance into one of those capture-bound doors that permanently slams shut right as a teammate caps a point to kill it off? Sniper can kill all classes in the game with a fully charged headshot and spy's backstab is an instant kill to everything that isn't wearing a razorback or ubercharged. At the same time, everyone caught within it is still aware, they're still in there somewhere, even if they're puppeteered and in constant agony. Could they all resist it if they worked together? Could all these subjugated parts resist the Blight long enough to give a player an opening to hurt it or get away?
I think that's the best part of this horror, too. There is probably a way, there has to be, the problem is that its victims need to find that way first, they need to get lucky, and then they need to escape and be able to warn other people.
But it's already gotten smart enough that it seems to prefer isolating them, one at a time, lure them in till they can't escape, leave them with no way out, then converge on them. It's actively cutting out each and every possible way it knows someone has used in the past to get away from or outsmart it.
...So now it's an arms race, and the players are already waaaaaaay on the back foot, while this thing learns with each and every new one it takes.

I know I may be looking too much into things but I view this as not only a callback to JonyDany talking about how he was cold but also an explanation of the symptoms you get from slowly being blighted in this series.
probably a sign that it takes the heat out of the victim's organism. It may imply that their bodies are not in the coma but completely drained and dead, meaning that this poor souls have no chance of getting back to reality, even if serverblight is defeated..
@@Sevenma it would be better as an coma that the person wouldn’t recover from, he’s not dead and if he’s unplugged he’s still at the game, but it can show some form of despair from the family believing there is still a way to save him, even if there’s not, no matter if the blight dies he will still be trapped inside a coma.

The fact that this is one of the maps that doesn't have kill zones makes it terrifying and that the serverblight is now intelligent enough to pretend to act like a casual game hopefully our main protagonist will eventually encounters some other players who survived like that one spy in the beginning or others who potentially found a solution anyways this amazing keep it up making this amazing horror series love your work!

Server blight cornering Syrenix and leaving him with little choice but to capture the point and waiting for him to realize there’s no escape really shows how much it enjoys playing with his prey now that he is in control, a far cry from him playing dead, hiding and rushing people to get them from the first episodes.
Plus,it shows the blight now have full mastery of how to kill,he now decided,like u said, play with his food before eating

3:33 I think just the visual of everyone staring at the invisible spy is perhaps the most horrifying part of this video. The shock and disbelief, followed by the step to the side with the turning of heads confirming it. I also like how the Blight seems to be pretending to play a normal match- but is not quite good enough at it.
I think it wasn't pretending? I mean the game propably was going normally, untill scubamaster joined, infected soldier and snipier, and the sniper got all others except spy, just so serverblight could have some fun
@@macshadow1150 if you look at the opening shot, none of the team actually takes damage or gets anything done. the soldier at the start just shoots into nothingness. theyre all missing their shots
@@TuxedoDogss probably because it realized it could be damaged with normal damage. So it just misses its shots just to avoid the hassle of recovering the body or worse gathering every single gib of a player.
We do always see serverblight recover the corpses of killed blighted players.
@@TuxedoDogss But the spy runs through one of their teammates in that opening and doesn't get assimilated.
@@OneLostTexanAaron also ran through the blighted Medic in the 3rd episode when running to find JonyDany and he didn’t get blighted.
I think the characters have to transform into blighted mode actively before they can assimilate players

Ok, now that we know kicking Server Blight (scubamaster96) only increases its migration and growth becomes all the more concerning. It was already worse when it learned how to exit its server, and this just adds onto that. Also, now seeing how someone IRL is affected once coming into contact of the Blight really freaks me out.

Ive found a couple errors in the details. First 1:19 in the upper part of the screen you can see a "list of players". This being 5 blue players and 6 red players. The blue players shown are Engineer, Soldier, Sniper, Soldier, Spy which is incorrect seeing as we can see Scout and Pyro in the scenes. Also we never see the 5th blue player. The other thing is theres 6 players in game and we see 7. Unless the assimilated scubamaster96 doesnt apear in the player list and its intentional. I normally wouldnt pay too much attention to detail but this series does like to reward people that pay attention to those so yeah. Anyways, other than that small issue the episode is great. Yet another thing for me to be paranoid about when i play tf2 :). Hope to see more soon.
I will note these "mistakes" appear to be actually deliberate by the creator.
Notice for example how the match timer never actually moved until after the spy was killed by the demoman. I believe the incorrect list of players was a subtle hint towards the fact that all the players on BLU team were fake and under the control of the serverblight.

Just a really smail detail here. If you look at 2:07-2:17 you can see the medic and heavy repeating the same movement process. For people with headphones you can spot the pattern earlier by hearing the same minigun charge up pattern.

The blight stalking dusbowl honestly makes so much sense, its perfect! Theres zero kill triggers, turning your pc off dosent work, *nothing can reverse the process*
The only thing that *can* work is winning the game by capturing the point/flag/cart it will "reset" the server and *kill* serverblight entirely.

As terrible as it is to learn that Spies aren't a safe class to escape the Blight, I had a sneaking suspicion they weren't & Breadolphin was merely lucky to escape in the first episode. If you go back & watch Jony's episode again, you can see that part of the arm the Blight used to touch his leg had a Spy arm mingled within it.

When episode 3 released of the Serverblight. I theorized that the Serverblight wanted to kick the heavy (scubamaster96) off the server after infecting him.
Remember that for that kick vote to pass at the time, both Aaron and Matt had to vote yes but what a lot of people forgot was that Matt was already infected by then. So why would the Serverblight want to kick itself off the server instead of killing Aaron right then?
Episode 4 Assimilation here is the answer. It so that the Serverblight could separate itself from its main body and start infecting other servers alone and get stronger. If you look at the names, the only name recognizable in this episode from the previous episodes is Scubamaster96. 5:32
The scary part is that the Serverblight is probably aware of how to cast vote kicks now, it may continue to vote kick parts of itself (other infected players like directionz, jonydany12,etc) so that they can continue invading other servers once a server has become completely infected and full of infected players since the game will prevent players from joining once it becomes full.
Apparently this shows that sucubamaster96 did not escape and technically created ANOTHER Severblight since apparently no one on this server (except sucubamaster96) was part of the first Severblight.
Also,this video confirms the theory that when Severblight is on the server, you automatically enter a "merge" process into the game itself before being assimilated. And that the body remains in the real world and your soul (or spirit) is trapped inside the game.
Poor sucubamaster96, from what I saw in other comments, he was also a kid...

1. Neat idea to remix kazotsky kick theme with more subtle instruments, I think it contributes to the theme quite nicely.
2. Sense we saw no masses of people joining when the serverblight started to make itself know, it could mean that it was already their and that serverblight knows how to mimic actual games of tf2.
3. For as interesting and fascinating I find the assimilation process to be, I can’t drop the feeling the guy got tickled to death.

Love the many details that says "something wrong" in beginning such as:
Match timer not going down at all before he got killed by demoman
Team being mismatched when blu has scout and pyro but isn't visible at the top of the class board
Constant firing from both team but blu seems to not receive any damage
Blu soldier in spawn suddenly appearing a second later after Synerix rubs his hands (Door didn't open, wasn't dead before and no join message)
Red team having a pattern on their attacks (most noticeably heavy revving up)
After spy got killed by the demoman, there was no deathcam
And the opportunities as well where the spy could get infected like touching the blu scout, any of the red team when demoman killed him, and the red medic.

The wail of the ambulance still haunts me. The doctors did everything they could, yet they had already declared him dead. I refused to believe it. I begged them to check again, but the verdict remained the same. My son-my only reason for staying sane-was gone.
Horror and confusion corroded my very existence as I clutched his lifeless body. I screamed and wailed inside the ambulance, cursing the heavens. Why, God? Why would you take my son?
Thirteen years ago, I endured betrayal-my son's bastard of a father, the man I foolishly once loved, ran away when I was thirteen. My parents, who only cared about my academic achievements, disowned me when I got pregnant at fourteen. My husband whom I met at 23 and though that he was my forever since he didn't mind me having a son and treated him like his own son, but he had cheated on me when I was 26. I still remember the smug smile of the woman he chose over me, and the satisfaction I felt knocking her into the next world. I was alone, left to raise my son while fighting for survival.

Survivors speak of something lurking within the game-an unknown entity. Some claim they were almost assimilated, their surroundings warping into animation. They saw things that is incomprehensible to them. The monster toying with them, almost getting assimilated, forcing to watch their friend to be assimilated. And many-too many-never came back.
As I read more online, something inside me shifts. Rage, cold and consuming, creeps into my veins.
An entity has been killing thousands of innocent children.
My son was one of them.
Unforgivable.
This is unforgivable.
Thousands of children taken by some nameless horror entity?
I grip the edge of the table. My nails dig into the wood.
I won’t let this go. I won’t let the game be shut down without answers. Without revenge.

From the beginning you can already find out that everyone's infected, nobody has even died at all and the timer isn't going down until the 2 minute mark, their engineer is hitting nothing with the wrench, blue team entirely ceases doing anything.
I remember that in the first episode of the series, someone said, "I wish this series would get more views." A few months have passed, and here we are!

Seriously, thanks for putting in the extra effort to show what is happening to these players on the real world side of things. This really elevates your project. As much as I'm joking about the cold, it actually makes sense since as the consciousness was pulled away from the body, the body would go numb... Even aside from the fact that servers wouldn't actually be programmed to feel heat/warmth. Less an actual coldness and more the absence of... anything.
Also I was hoping you'd be uploading like this. An episode with our 'main characters' escaping and dealing with the blight, followed by a 'quickly made' side episode full of cannon fodder people to help expand on what a threat the server blight is. Not to sell your work short, stellar job as always. I can't wait to see the series... and the blight, grow!
the way this video shows how it affects the irl world was MUCH needed for the terror aspect of the serverblight in my opinion. It was eluded to in the last video but it wasn’t made completely clear. INCREDIBLE video guys! keep it up but remember to not overwork yourselves!
I’ve gotta say, this has to be one of the best “meta horrors” I’ve seen, every silly “arg” is just normal gameplay with hundreds of vhs filters overlayed on it which makes no sense most of the time, but this is different, its well paced and it tells a story that explains it in the next episode without even explaining it! Bravo 🎉🎉 I havent felt this scared from a youtube horror for a while, keep it up 🙏

Okay, this video elevated this series for me. This is genuinely fantastic. The acting on the player is really solid, and the transitions between him and the game (and his world becoming the game) are extremely well done. It is funny that he seems to be playing in a nuclear bunker, but otherwise this is just a fantastic piece of horror media that is just really damn amazingly put together.

The fact that this series makes it out that meeting the Serverblight IS a real possibility to anyone. The tension that at anytime you will be just playing tf2 and out of nowhere be forced to run and find the closest pit to save your life, or else it's eternal torture for you, that's awesome. The fear doesn't stay behind the screen, it literally reaches out to you with long tendrils that wrap around your brain and then stays there, lingering, waiting, just like the blight itself.

I do find it fascinating is that mid way the blight let the blu's capture the point, while the red soldier let himself get spotted by the player to get ready to contest the last capture point, so when the spy ran to spawn, the blight was ready to chase him while also giving him hope that he can end the game by capturing but gave up because of the heavy, which led the spy in despair and hopeless get taken by the blight.
I believe the Server Blight has figured out that it is more advantageous on maps that don't have cliffs or out-of-bounds like hazards. Choosing to use pretty safe and more importantly claustrophobic areas that limits where you can go. And it took the chance with this spy.
Like someone said earlier, cloaking or being invisible matters naught with the Blight due to the fact we can see it assimilating ALL teams. Friendlies can see other spies that are invisible in their own team for reasons (Idk why, Valve stuff). We can also assume that since it absorbed the medics, scouts, pyros, Demos, pretty much the entire roster of classes.
I theorise that the serverblight is likely Immune to Fire, Can heal at a scary rate, has too much health, cannot be knocked back in any meaningful way, is super fast, likely can double jump / negate fall damage, Highly resistant to explosives, And now likely to be able to sneak up on targets because invis. And more than likely to FAKE ITS OWN DEATH. I am assuming it is capable of using unlocks given we saw it use a stock medigun to try and trick the soldier from the last time, I believe his name is Aron? (Dunno, I just know he was a sniper then Soldier)
If we were to assume the Blight is capable of using the weapons, I.e., stock weapons. That is still a ridiculous amount of power behind its... Digits? Sure lets go with digits. Medigun to heal itself and possibly UBERCHARGE ITSELF. If we were to assume if it could use unlocks. What is the most powerful combination of weapons and tools from every class if you had NO slot restriction.
I think it would be: Dead Ringer for Death façade; Medigun and Quick Fix for healing and Uber; All banners to be Immune to crits, heal on hit (Not like it matters), Speed, Damage Boost (Again, not like it matters, One touch and you're gone); Fists of Steel to have Ranged Weapon Resistance when Uber is on cooldown; Invis Watch and Cloak & Dagger for invis on the go and to hide to scare people; Pomson just to drain any Uber from survivors and to personally have fun toying with its victims (If a certain video of the Server Blight is to be true); and some others I can't think of at the top of my head as I'm writing this.
The moment the ServerBlight figures out how to get to MvM, we are all screwed. Those upgrades will make it impossible for the victims to win

Players can see their own spies invisible because its teamwork and gameplay, it lets you know that your spy is running in cloaked and you dont have to rely on the decloak colors all the time.

This video is incredible. You’ve perfectly captured the horror of a creature that can assimilate others and adapt to its environment, but in a video game and that’s terrifying. It brings back great memories of my teenage years watching The Thing, I loved the concept of that creature. Thank you for bringing back those old but good memories. I can’t wait to see players try to face these creatures. Eventually, word will spread online, especially among survivors, and they might even create some kind of "community mission" to take them on moments where they’ll doubt whether their friends are infected or not. Of course, all while keeping the horror factor that makes it so unique. Amazing work!
Dude the serverblight learning votekick doomed tf2 honestly. It can keep spreading itself across servers and do things like this. Idk where Aarons story is going to go from here but it’s good confirmation to have that when assimilated, your IN the game. Your body either dies or is just a husk while your mind is molded into the blight. Great work once again!!
It could also be a memetic effect, as in they are not actually within the game, but seeing what the blight flashes on screen creates something like a computer virus in their brain that forces their physical body to play along as part of the hive mind.

What i have in mind is for the Medic to ubercharge a pyro, and in those ten seconds, for him to airblast Serverblight out of a cliff,
that'd *possibly* work.

About the blight appearing irl, I see it as more like the player starting to see mixed realities.
How I interpret it:
As the blight starts to infect you, you're basically starting to get dragged into the virtual world. In that process, you start having realities mixed, *as if* the game is mixed with your world as well. Basically similar to being schizophrenic I guess

Emesis Blue might be better on an objective level, this right here however has created a greater sense of terror and investment in me. I'm always going back to look for more details, and it makes me contemplate everything that follows as it happens, yet it still always managed to pull the rug out from underneath me. I like how since the entire server is the blight, when he makes slight contact with the blue scout when going up the stairs is when he first hears the noise behind him. Then hearing it again, he turns around in-game. And then, after backstabbing the medic that is when he looks down to see spy's arms instead of his own and his body and the spy's body affect eachother (like mouth movements, expressions, and some of the heavys shenanigans maybe, but i still dont fully understand the heavy being in the real world, could just be the blight being INSIDE of his consciousness aswell, but idk im not a theorist)
Right now, it is heavily believed to be a supernatural/lovecraftion horror entity thingy.
Heavy is not in the real world, it is him starting to get sucked into the game.

This is well-executed closer to those who wanted to know the process of being in the same server with that thing, and of course- assimilation.
Having said that, it's bad enough this thing has learned how to mimic actual, unsuspecting gameplay. Now, it got its hands on the one class that can disguise as other players, cloak, and fake their deaths. It's as if it had been wanting to assimilate that class for some time, and has grown intelligent enough to use a map with no death-zones in order to trap its desired victim.
Up to this point, we've seen how it can lower a victim's intuitions to the point where it will willingly pass up on moments where it definitely could have claimed someone (back turned on Blighted, physical contact, etc.) before pouncing. It's scary to think it might eventually become even more aggressive in the future, taking first opportunities where it finds them.
Shit's truly gotten real.

We've also got confirmation as to what the Blight does to the actual real life players controlling the characters behind the screen. It blurs the lines between the virtual world of Team Fortress 2 and reality . It is then able to seep into said reality and place the player's real selves into a form of trance before leaving them in a catatonic state.
But it seems that their consciousness is stuck within the game as we saw in the Puppet Creepypasta.
That means that Matt(HectorT0rn), GUILLIESUIT, Directionz, JonyDany12 all the other unfortunate souls unlucky enough to be caught by this abomination have shared this unnerving fate.
As one other person appropriately put it, the Blight is only getting stronger with each server it comes to infest and it's going to be a race against the clock on the part of TF2's playerbase to stop it.

While I personally prefer these kind of mysteries to remain unsolved or just interpreted by fans, this is explanation makes a good amount of sense. I dread the fact that the serverblight learnt about it's death zone weakness, so decided to play on maps without any.
Once again a spy main forgets they have a gun lol. Jokes aside, this video is masterfully done! An excellent display of show not tell in terms of the lore.
