I'm ashamed to confess that I had never heard of TV Smith until seeing him supporting The Men They Couldn't Hang in Glasgow last night. Wow. What a powerful and passionate performer! And his lyrics really got to me. I will be listening to him a lot from now on, I think!

I think demotivation started with us generation X born in the 60's, so this is a bit unfair to generation Y, in my opinion. We had good reasons to be wary of social commitment. I love TV Smith, though...

Generation labels are very confusing to me because we somehow have 5 generations in 15 years which is non sensical. How are millennials those born after 1990? What happened to y, z, Slacker, and Net babies? And how does the "Millennial" generation span over 30 years?

"Jesus wouldn't draw a crowd today" (What a right-on target Truth!) : Given that he indeed performed no miracles, that creates a problem. ALL miracle stories were put in well after his death without a one stitch of authenticity. And Paul, who was the earliest of what we have (35 C.E.) doesn't make one mention of Jesus performing a miracle--he just affirms his absolutely conviction of resurrection. So Jesus returned would be confronted with "Do Tricks For Us! Walk On Water. Raise A Man Three Days Dead (Cripes Lazarus would be a stinking Decrepitude )Make all lepers to have beautiful radiant skin with just a "So Be It" --all fairy stories, and sadly used I suspect to sell christianity. a religion Jesus never intended to found, and all in people that said within the New testament that he had such intention, be lies placed into the Bible and much because he did not return quickly)
BTW; A jewish archeologist having spent 30 years of research, and leg work, and digs, in the :Holy Land: failed to find even one tidbit that the story of Exodus be anything beyond a story. And Sigmund Freud wrote a book of his studies and insists Moses was NOT jewish, but a high priest to Ikhnaton.(Freud called Ikhnaton the greatest oconoclast in history; much he did as Pharaoh, was preceding the message of Jesus--he was assssiinated (with efertiti assistance) for his passivism, and denouncing all blood sacrifice, and having flowers offered to "The Almighty" rather than blood, much of what we know of Ikhnaton has been in recent times denounced, as it goes Against The Bible; Moses probably just chose the Hebrews to be the people to escape with the reign of terror against followers of Ikhnatton, likey over 200 years before the false dating of Exodus---there were NO miracles).
My jewish in-law taught me the Jews said they were the 'Chosen People' of GAWD because that is simply the nature of tribalism, they all think they're the best--this in-law survived a Program, at age 7, being hid in a haystack, bless her, she had a free thinking mind--she said Cossacks were just the tool of the power structure an brainwash them with The Jews killed GOD--Jesus was killed by Hebrew Qusling power structure that ws in partnership with Rome, can be likened to the Vichy Government of France---the crowd crying out to spare Barrabas was bought and paid for)
The Moses in the bulrushes story was a blatant attempt to arbitarily make Moses Jewish(Mases in Egyptian, means "son on of" and avoid the events of Ikhnaton, like the plague--as he threatened the tale the Hebrew writers were writing 800 hundred years after events that were never recorded by Egyptians, as the Jewish archeologist, said wrote down EVERYTHING in their hieroglyphics) and when Moses was long dead). The Jewish archeologist said if they moved the dates of Moses back several hundred years to the time of Ikhnaton you have possibilities of major historic events recorded by Egyptian writers--without and plagues, killing the first born , and all that tommy rot).
Disclaimer: I honor Jesus, and knowing he turned Israel upside down without miracles makes me much more impressed with the iconoclastic courage of this strange/outsider man of humble origin.
( I am tired/ sick and tired of both loud mouth fanatic atheists and bible/Torah/Koran fanatics and Popcorn Plastic New Age " don't worry feel good babblings" of getting stupider all the time, minds.)
Did The Hebrew have an Magical Powerful Ark of The Covenant. No? They probably carried one, but it was something they just built, and was no more magical than a dead wood log that gave them an excuse to slaughter "pagans"(men women and children' in the name of God.. Manny/ Addicted to a terrible thing; Truth.
