- Our latest amusement park review isn't of an amusement park at all! Sweden's Kolmården is actually a massive zoo, that just happens to be home to one of the greatest roller coasters ever built. We've already posted a full in depth review for Wildfire, so today' we're going to discuss the park itself and everything you need to know about it!

1:49 I think your GPS showed you some weird way there because it's almost all highway to Kålmården and then a straight countryroad by the water haha
Pene Trait Was just going to say that aswell!
Man kan ta en annan väg förbi Krokek
Huh? English please.
det e fan sant har vart där flera ggr och tänkte den här kilens gps e full

Couldn't agree more! I came for Wildfire, but absolutely stayed for the animals.
Yo silv you still play planet coaster?? Wanna do a collab not that great at building parks. Also also how do YOU pronounce gyro.
Did you go to the dolphin show!? He didn't mention it in the video, it's really awesome, we even saw it twice!
@@smauggerr Had the pleasure to see the show when flip was still alive, its still great but its not the same without him :P
My family does not really like to go out of their way to go to amusement parks, because i am the only person in my family that likes to go to them, but i am sure i could convince them to go to a zoo, and BAM there’s a world class roller coaster there and they didn’t even know it
get played, family!
The ticket thingy at the parking lot is how you pay for every parking place in sweden
William Norgren Most people use a phone app to pay Parkin in Sweden nowadays.
And you need to have a social security number and swedish citizenship to use that feature as they no longer accept coins in those machines
@@helmwall133 The machines accept credit cards though.
So true
Petter ! Nor in vaxjo
Acutally out of the parks I've been to in sweden, I thought this is the most beautiful one. I'd even say that's a two day park if you want to enjoy wildfire and all the animals!
@Flaffstar It’s totally a two day park, and probably the most beautiful one. But the benefits with a park like Grönalund or Liseberg is the location and other things you can do after closing hours.
I live in sweden
NorzkenolZn, what tf are you on? I made a comparison between the three most visited parks in Sweden and brung up the other parks benefits. Of course they aren’t zoos, but they’re sill included in “parks”.
Yup, he deleted his comment.
You missed the dolphin show? I'm sorry for you dude....
True thats the best thing in the whole park apart from wildfire
@@miob5252 IMHO, the bird show is kicking dolphine ass.
When i was 4 i declined the opportunity
bath with those dolphin when asked, kinda regret that.
Talking about the dolphins, they made me wet...
Omg I died inside when he didn’t went to the dolphin show
The footage of the sleeping red panda made my day
Do they ever do something different than sleeping? So cute nonetheless! 😍
@@flaffstar_99 considering theyre crepuscular, yes they do. just not when the suns up.
I work there! And I have made thousands of those icecreams you were talking about! Happy you like it!
Unrelated, men hej fellow Kolmårdsarbetare! 😁
Yooo kolmården arbetare
1:49 where the heck were you driving? lmao your gps is showing you the wrong way.
Its the shoortest way.... I know..m i drive there two weeks ago
The doplhinshow at Kolmården is really good. You def dont want to miss that one out.
I got to go backstage once to feed and pet the dolphins it was such a cool experience
Dolphinshows should not exist.
5:30 cracked me up. Like visiting a zoo in Sweden would be the most random thing.
laskieg lol
I went two years ago for the first time (even though I'm Swedish) and I loved it too! The skyride is amazing, and of course Wildfire is one of the best rides in the world! Very pretty park, and a lot of animals to see and interact with.
7 minutes of coaster studios being a zoo enthusiast
Tomorrow I will visit Kolmården for the first time. The video is coming at the perfect moment for me 😁
MaxT lol that’s funny xD Your name is Max and your visiting Kolmården for the first time. My name is Max to and i’am also gonna go to kolmården for the first time. I’am just first gonna visit in like 4 weeks. Soooo excited for wildfire and now actually also the rest of the Park.
@Max Jensen
I just wanna point out that when you use an apostrophe to shorten it you don’t need to type all of it out. (If that makes sense)
So either I am or I’m :)
I live only a 40-minuite drive away from Kolmården and been there multiple times a year my whole life, and it never gets old! I also worked there for summer and it's a wonderful working environment. And I think it's also important to say that they take GREAT care of their animals, love seeing pictures on their instagram from the elefants taking a walk in the forest or a tapir enjoying a pumpkin as enrichment on Halloween.
It's acually not that hard to get to the park by bus, they have a stop just by the park called "djurparken" (zoo in swedish). You can take the bus straight from the Central station in Norrköping, usually there is one bus every 30 minutes.
I remember when you had to drive your car into the safari, and I remember one occasion especially. Me and my family looked at the lions, as suddenly a lioness walks up to the car and scratches the right-frontdoor. It was amazing!
haha, we were there 80's and a lion was eating it's chunk of meat right next to our car and we kids were making faces and knocking on the window, suddenly lion looked at us and let a huge roar and we weren't so sure anymore that we were safe in our car.
I live in the same region as Kolmarden and one of my oldest memories is from that zoo. Thirty years back and I was five years old. I got lost from my family in the crowd and I still remember so clearly that I thought there was no point in panicking. I sat down against a tree and looked at the animals behind the closest fence. A few minutes in a guard drives up to me and says something like "You´re Patrick right? I´m positive your parents are looking for you, little man." I sat down in his little 4-wheeler and minutes later I was reunited with my family. Mind you, we´re five siblings so only one lost is a win.
This seems like a awesome zoo
It is
The dolphin show was amazing too
This looks like a very beautiful Zoo. I would love to visit here!
That looks like a really cool park, if I ever make it out to Sweden I'll definitely try to go there. Also, that bird girl is super cute.
Grew up in Krokek and lived the for 20 years, as a child my mom was a stay home mom so she always bought annual pass for Kolmården and the tropicarium to have something to do every once in a while. Eventually me and my sister shouted "NO not again" when she suggested to go there. It's nice to go back and visit every now and then though. Was there 2017 to check Wildfire out.
1:49 boi you really think thousands of people drive on those roads?😂
Belive it or not but they actually do 😂
Well is not really a ZOO its a wild park where the keep animals as their primary mission and its crowd funded just to help the animals
What you described is literally a zoo.
lmao dum dum
@@meowidi the good kind, that is. Not the for-profit-animal-prison ones
@@revimfadli4666 most of modern zoos are striving to be like that
Kolmården is amazing! I live close to it so it's my backyard park, so to speak. I'm truly blessed to live so close.
4:32 Ah yes, my favorite food, the gyroscope
ChickenManiac 123 I hate it when people say gryo Like gyro"scope"
Working at Arby's people pronouncing it like that gives me anxiety
Because english speaking people generally can't do the throat decease sound you need to make to say it.
What’s that even?

Totally agree absolutely amazing place, well worth the effort getting there.
I am swedsih and I have never been to Kolmården.^^* So was fun to watch a review of the place. I had no idea about the rolle rcoasters. ^^**
don`t miss the dolphin show there. It`s amazing
When I was 10 my class won a trip to Kolmården and it was one of the best days in my life
you forgot the dolphin and seal show man. i really wanted to hear your reaction because i really like it myself / greets from sweden🇸🇪🇸🇪 love your videos🔥🔥
Nice video and agree! Our family spent a weekend there a couple of years ago 👌😊👍
Kolmården is absolutely awesome! I had so much fun the last time I was there, and I'm glad you did as well!
At The is that the one you sent you was not a fan I thought it would have to go back and then it would have to go to a new level of a new level to get the level level and then level of the game I have to go to get the new one and I get it back to the level of the
I visit Kolmården a lot, I have family living in the area. The zoo is just amazing, I've been to quite a few large zoo's around the world but Kolmården is special. It doesn't have that "animal in cages" feel to it. It's open, fresh and clean. The animals are healthy, the crew is happy and for the amount of people visiting every single day, a surprisingly low amount of screaming children. The dolphin show and the reptile/shark house is top notch.
Thank you for this great review, i Will visit this park in the summer together with Grona lund and Hansa park, Will be a great summer. As well as marathoning Untamed at my home park this year
4:14 “...And you can watch some animals rip meat to shreds that’s always a good time” lol I laughed so hard at that
I mean, he’s right.😏
You go up to the pay station first everywhere in Sweden
Almost. I've been to one place where it seems to scan your registration number when you enter, and then you have a credit card reader by the exit, so you can't leave until you pay.
this is also very easy to get from public transport, there's a train station with an hourly bus. and the bus waits for the trains to arrive so it's pretty convenient.
Do you have any tips to go to Kolmården from Stockholm because I will visit the park tomorrow and I will stay in Stockholm for the night.
@@maxt2391 check out "theme park worldwide travel vlog kolmarden"
There are regional trains with SJ (Swedish State railways) between Stockholm and Norrköping which go down this branch line where the Kolmården village train station is. And if that's not your cup of tea, then the bus to the park also departs from Norrköping Central where the SJ high speed X2000 train amongst other services like SagaRail and Snälltåget stop at.
DrDewott The Language Hub Do you have anymore information on how much the bus is from Norrköping to Kolmården and how you pay (can you pay on the bus?)
@@idb1979 You cannot pay on the bus, you need a ticket. Most convenient for me was local transport app. It's called Östgötatrafiken. The ticket you need is for Östergötland county, which is 75 kr. you buy the ticket in advance, then activate it before getting on the bus and it lasts for 90 minutes or something.
I acutally live near kolmarden in Sweden. About 1 hour away. The most of my childhood is spent at that place. I’m acutally going there this weekend. Thanks for doing this epic reveiw
Whenever i see my hometown on youtube it's usually on the negative side, so glad we have Kolmården here and especially wildfire for the positive attention!
To anyone wanting to go here, i recommend that you visit during Halloween. They have night-open and amazing events with animals and others, bring a jacket because its a bit cold during October here!
Edit: If you choose the road trough Krokek you don't have to touch any gravel roads and there is even a buss that goes twice an hour from Norrköping Centralstation for around 2 dollars one way. The snowleopard is one of the rarest animals at zoo's and has one of the most beautiful enclosures there so that is a must-visit.
If anyone has any unorthodox questions then feel free to ask, i go to this park once a month.
The zoo itself actually looks really awesome. I'm usually not such a big fan of zoos, but this zoo made me really interested in the wildlife there.
32 years back, when I was a baby, our family visited Kolmården. At that time you could drive with your own car around the park. It just so happend that a Lion took a fancy to our car and nibbled it a bit, making my mom so scared because the car was'nt locked xD
I know this isn't really your area of focus but it would be interesting to hear your thoughts on parks with the best animal exhibits. Certainly BGT, Disney's Animal Kingdom, SF Great Adventure, the Sea World parks and SFDK would be on that list. I'd also be curious to hear your thoughts on best zoos in general but I doubt you'd want to go that far off topic. That being said, here's a list of my personal favorite zoos if anyone is interested.
1) San Diego
2) Henry Doorly (Omaha)
3) Saint Louis
4) Columbus
5) Disney's Animal Kingdom
Sweden is the future.
very good video with good opinions and facts, keep it up
Great review 👍
Maybe I should give this one ago🤔
I mean I doo live here so...
It’s really nice to here from someone that clearly have experience from loads of theme parks out there. Sorry for the parking ticket. When did you visit Kolmården? What month?
Thank you again for a great input and review on the hole park👍😎
The E4 super highway that links the entire continent goes next to Kålmården, no GPS would ever skip the E4 if your destination is in that vicinity.
Well , maybe SOMEONE WANTED to take a offroad road to get there
1:50 I do not know where you were driving but there are pretty straight paved roads to Kolmåden so I would consider it a false statement to call it obscure. But I suppose the GPS prefere the quickest way and choose the forest roads instead of the meant to be used roads.
I am not surprised there are paved roads all around it, but the GPS took us some weird way so we just assumed that's how everyone got there, haha!
Going to cedar point tomorrow love you channel ❤️
That is on my bucket list... But it'll take at least a week's worth of vacation time and around $3000. So I won't be going there for a while yet.
Yo Taylor I had a general question for u - when ur filming a pov on a coaster, does that make that ride less fun? Or does it not make a difference
It takes away part of your attention from the ride because part of you is focusing on the video, but it doesn't make the ride not enjoyable by any means!
Good question.
Last time I was at Kolmården was probably 20 years ago back when I was a kid. It's not mentioned in the video, but they also have a dolphin show, it's excellent to watch.
hello buddy, so exited to you review all of the swedish amusement park. i especially loved the kolmården review. although you got to the the majority of kolmården, in my opinion you missed the best part. the part is the dolphin show. i dont know if you where there earlier but you need to go check it out.
They were so beautiful
Wow, I've Heard of Kålmården for so many years and I'm a Swede not living that far away from it really. Still had no idea about that roller coaster or the what animals they have. Looks like a really nice day trip even for an adult. I think most just see it as a place for the smallest kids.
Haven't been here-but can recomend if your in europe, particularly in the germanic section of Europe-the Zoos are real neat, much diffrent the ones in america
I Live in sweden and I have been on Kolmården many times in my life!
Just came home from a whole day with the kids at Kolmården. And let me tell you, it was worth the 4 hour drive one way for the park alone. With Wildfire it was a slam dunk.
Great video man! /CHEERS FROM SWEDEN
After next week i'm gonna go there so this is good information for me
the sky rid i love, im a pass holder at Kolmården, we did the ride 6 times in a row, so relaxing
AHHHHHHHHHHH, the nostalgia!
I am Swedish and live a two hour drive from Kolmården. Yet without this review by an American, I might not sit now and plan a trip there.
we always do atleast 2 days when i visit kolmården, because it's so huge . The dolphin show is one of my faves.
Fantastic review Taylor
hoping that the columbus zoo pulls smth like wildfire (maybe not necessarily an rmc) bc it seems like theyre planning on diversifying with a solid water park, one of the best zoos in the country, and they're seemingly trying to add a fully-fledged amusement park section to make it a triple destination but it only has 1 like kiddie roller coaster and theyve only talked about adding flat rides so i hope they add like a full-scale thrill coaster someday. the columbus zoo is like almost 600 acres too so theyre not pressed for space really
I disagree with you with the thing that it's hard to get there without car. I just there and it's easy to get there by bus. I took train from Stockholm to Norrköping and from Norrköping central station bus to Kolmården. It wasn't hard at all. And this comes for a guy who travels first time without parrents to foreign country. Trust me, it's not as hard as it may seem.
thats great to hear! I did not see a bus or train station near the park so I just assumed it wasn't connected to public transit, but glad to hear it actually is!
the Leo The Language Hub Do you have anymore information on how much the bus is from Norrköping to Kolmården and how you pay (on the bus?)
@@idb1979 There should go one bus per hour from Norrköping to Kolmården. You can check the timetable from ostgotatrafiken webside as z1dm3 said. It's completely in Swedish but we'll help you if you have any problems.(it is possible to translate it by google translater but the webside itself warns about mistakes in translation)
the Leo Thanks I have now downloaded the ostgotatrafiken app and it is very easy to use.
fantastic cinematography in this
thank you!
Nice coverage Taylor!
Go to Ölands Djurpark!!! It’s in sweden to and it is a zoo to and you can even feed the goats!
Your review came just 3 weeks too late. I also got a parking ticket the same way you did during my Sweden trip. Guess I'm in good company ;)
LOL danggggg. Well, if anything it proves this is a common problem!
Coaster Studios sounds like they gotta like put up signs letting people know lmao
They probably don’t even know this is an issue since this is how we pay for 99% of parking in Sweden.
Kolmården is awesome! Very well worth a visit! I live in Sweden. Been there I belive at least 5 times.
We do an annual trip there now that we have a child, it's absolutely perfect. The fries are the best in the world!
Are you in Europe to wait for untamed to open and ride it on its opening day
I am not in Europe at the moment. I would love to ride Untamed but it probably won't be for a few years at least!
its like 1 hour from grönalund and i live in sweden and havent visited kolmården in about 7 years even do me and my mother love rollercoaster im going there next week lets go
Z1dm3 har också guldkort
Omg! We got a parking ticket as well! We bought the parking ticket at guest services and they saw us go into the park. They didn’t mention that we had to display it in the car. They knew we were English and couldn’t read the ticket. Haven’t paid a fine yet, we disputed it but the park couldn’t do anything annoyingly.
you're the 3rd person to comment on this video saying you also got a parking ticket, so if anything this proves this is becoming a regular problem there, haha!
Coaster Studios Like you said most themeparks you either show the ticket on the way out or pay as you go in.
Richard Matthews exactly. Kolmården needs to fix this👏🏼
The parking system used in Kolmården is the most common in Sweden, so we swedes are very used to it. You se this system everywhere in Sweden so it should definetly be something tourists are more informed about!
Kate Moonhunter Unfortuantely we were not informed
Do a Holiday World and Splashin’ Safari review!!! Also great video keep up the good work!

I know this place is awesome!!!!!
I have been to Kolmården in like 2015 it was awesome i dont know if anything changed there. In the summer its the best. I would love to revisit
I’m a little worried about that you might have misunderstood the “free refill” thing. Most fast food places etc in Sweden have the filling station outside with the costumers, but that doesn’t mean it’s free refill. Does someone know if Kålmården explicitly says that they have free refills?
Whaaaat? I’ve been there a couple of times over 10 years ago but I don’t think they had roller coasters back then 😩🤨 woow, they’ve done some amazing improvements to the zoo!
1:20 Sweden u know
I hope you didn't miss the dolphin show! On of the best things in Kolmården in my opinion.
Happy you liked my country
I don't think Americans are dumber than Swedish or Europeans per definition. I think it relies on the welfare being better and there not being any way you could sue the park for massive amounts of money, to the point you could even get in jail yourself if you played a significant role in the victim entering the animal enclosure.
The legal stuff as well as a culture of not wanting to stand out i think is the main reason to be honest. Also, there is staff around the enclosures at all times, so its not like you can just slip in there unnoticed
Paystations are pretty much everywhere. And indeed, they are kind of hard to notice sometimes if you don't know the signs.
I love Kolmården! Its the best zoo in sweden maybe in the world. I love riding Wildfire and love seeing animals, its just a perfekt place to visit. The Safari thing was the best part of the actuall Zoo while Wildfire was the best roller coaster atraction there and all of the chows wer awsome! One that Tailur missed was the Dolfin chow next to Wildfire, this one chows dolfins doing amazing tricks and jumps splashing the croud with water. So all of you guys who love dolfins go check it out its beutifull! And to wrap things up this park is one of my favorit and I highly recomend a visit some time
I do wish I got to see the Dolphin show- If I ever go back, I'll be sure to watch it!
Are you planning on doing an Alton towers review
yes!
I was there 5 or so weeks ago on a school trip and it was awesome
I'am from Sweden and I have been there two times first with my family and then with my classmates. It's really nice there👌😋
I live close to Kolmården zoo, so next Thursday I'm putting some running shoes on and will jog from the entrance all the way back to where Wildfire is (around 2 kilometres), and then ride it for as long as I feel is a good idea and then jog back. :-D
havent been there for many years, do they still have the pool where you can pet stingrays and other fishes?
I live in Sweden and Kolmården is AWESOME
What You can do at Kolmården is to sleep in a tent in the middle of the park. Then you get to walk on a guided tour at night through the park, feed the lions yourself while in a small bunker in the ground just a few meter away. Feed the ostriches and the giraffes as well. Of course this cost a lot of money but it is really exiting
I was there yesterday and my family wanted to go there to see the animals and ride Wildfire bc we can’t go to Liseberg as usual and when we are at the entrance it says on a little sign ( Wildfire is closed for today replaced with CANDYTRAIN in bamse landet. At that point my dad wanted to go home and then get free entry tikets next time we go there. I was also really upset about that bc it didn’t stood in any website or anything.
BUT IT WAS SO AWESOME TO SEE AL ANIMALS ANYWAYS ❤️❤️❤️
I've been in kolmården before and stayed there a night, it's amazing!
i live in sweden so i have beeen there like 6 times and its really really nice
I have never been this early to watching a video
Kolmården is mean to be a semi-hiking experience. You're meant to take it slow and enjoy the scenery and perhaps take a break for lunch or a picnic with your family halfway. It's meant to be a journey. I've been there a few times but that was probably 25 years ago now.
My favorite roller coaster is wildfire, I have been on it like 45 times now. First time i went on the ride i was six years old. Was it scary? Not really i absolutely loved it. Was i tall enough? Nope. Not at all, But they didnt see me board the ride 👀
Live in sweden and been Here!🇸🇪💛✌🏻
