Thank goodness for you, Amy. You are the only one reviewing commercial mixers. Every time I search for reviews, YOU are the only one that pops up with actual reviews. Subbed!

Globe mixers are great products. After years of mixing doughs with a KitchenAid, and watching it slow down and struggle mixing tough doughs, I purchased a Globe SP8. It does not slow down when mixing products. If it gets overloaded, the SP8 has a safety clutch that slips if the load is too much for the mixer. This prevents the motor from stalling out and overheating. The SP8 costs more than a high end KitchenAid but KitchenAid mixers are also expensive.

Interesting enough is that these kind of mixers and not exact this brand can be found in Europe to buy online for almost the price of an Artisan Elegance from Kitchenaid! These mixers seems heavy duty enough to last a lot with home use even used very often so can be a great choice! My actual help in kitchen is a Kmix from Kenwood which is a fantastic mixer BTW but i could consider one of these proffesional mixers a viable option for the future!

Terrific review, Amy. Thanks for your excellent review. When you mentioned other mixers that have a hesitation when making bread dough, I remembered you saying that about the KitchenAid Commerical 8 quart mixer. Thanks again!

I have owned the same Globe mixer since 2012. It definitely is a workhorse!

I would love to see you do a review of the “Beautiful by Drew Barrymore” stand mixer sold at Walmart for $99. It’s been 2 years and there still hasn’t been a decent review of it by someone who’s knowledgeable on TH-cam only unboxing.

Since the HL6 is no longer available, this would make a good alternative. Thanks for this, Amy. :)

Nice mixer 5qt. is perfect for most people. Rub a little olive oil on your dough hook and the dough won't try to climb it. Modify a New Metro pouring chute so it will fit the bowl. I wish my Hobart Kitchenaid K5-A Mixer had this mixers motor.

Looking at a somewhat ugly SP5 for $150. It only has the paddle attachment. I think I can design and 3D print a new top if needed, or just for a esthetic reasons. Globe sells a replacement wire whisk for a little under $200. Is this a good deal? Also, would it be possible to use Kitchen Aid attachments? I am only part way through the video at this point. Great review!

Globe said the bowl is extra rigid so it doesn’t flex so the attachments can get close to the sides and bottom which reduces the need to scrap the bowl.

Kind of off topic, but I did go ahead and purchase one of those Gevi vacuums.

    Hmm.
    This machine definitely has power!
It also appears to be good value offhand. As lovely as the N50 is, it is extremely expensive and I like having the variable speeds over just 3, so considering the price of this one, I would 100% give it a try if I were looking for a new mixer. It did really great with the whipping and kneading.
The cookies were okay in my opinion. While it did mix well, it left quite a lot on the sides of the bowl and that batter getting stuck on the beater and needing to be scraped off would be annoying.
The biggest drawback for me would be the capacity. I have an 8 quart KitchenAid and I wouldn’t want anything less than 7 quarts for the batch sizes that I do.
I do like my commercial KitchenAid, but the problems that I’ve had with it and my experience with KitchenAid’s customer service has turned me off from buying another one.
This Globe would be a possible competitor. I just wish their was something larger than 5 quarts that wouldn’t look too industrial sitting on the counter.

Globe makes a great mixer with an intelligent shaped bowl.

I wouldn't dare try 6 cups of flour in my KitchenAid. I have a recipe of my grandmother's butter cookies that call for 6 cups of flour, but I only mix half of it at a time. Obviously, this Globe mixer is made for heavy duty jobs.

The Globe is a great machine, the Ank is better.
