    May I ask, seeing that you are getting a nice DOF in mid day, are you using a ND or CPL on these shots? curious what you are stopping down to so its not completely blown out while getting nice bokeh?

    • @KyleCongphoto
      @KyleCongphoto  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Steve Sargente all the sample photos on this video are done using HSS. I did start using ND filter later on. I used 3stop b+w multi coating ND.

    Where are you pointing the head of the flash? I’m wondering if it’s directly pointing at the model especially when you’re trying to wrap the light around. Thank your for educating us.

    Very nice results! How strong of a flash do you need to accomplish shots in that harsh lighting? Can you accomplish that with a mid-level speedlight? Or would I need a $2k strobe?

    • @KyleCongphoto
      @KyleCongphoto  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      To deal with the harsh sun, one speed light won't be enough. You'll need a strobe but doesn't have to be 2k.

      Profoto B2

    Great video! Do you think a 14x48 stripbox would be too large to achieve this kind of focused soft light? Would a 9x35 be a bit too small? Thanks!

    Is a really good video and the photos got good result.
    One question, how do you compare the stripbox and the beauty dish (or 2x3" softbox) for portrait photo? Any particular area we have to pay attention when choosing these modifier?

    • @KyleCongphoto
      @KyleCongphoto  7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Beauty dish is good for headshots because it better protect the shadow under the chin, but not so good for 3/4 or full body especially when the color temperature of your ambient is very different from your strobe.

    • @KyleCongphoto
      @KyleCongphoto  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      For these I believe I used HSS for all of them. I mostly shoot wide open F1.4

    Which strobe is recommended for this stripbox?

    • @KyleCongphoto
      @KyleCongphoto  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Brand doesn’t matter. I recommend 200-250ws light.

    • @user-te1rn4tc8l

      Bowens mount?

    • @KyleCongphoto
      @KyleCongphoto  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      What mount doesn’t matter either. Pick whatever is your favorite. How you use the light is what make the real difference.

    For my taste it adds to much flat light however as a back light or side light to create separation it’s the best

    Thanks for sharing! You are so right about horizontal! Question, is that just a normal light stand @ 5:17? Tilted over?

    • @KyleCongphoto
      @KyleCongphoto  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, just a normal light stand. Boom stand will be even better but they are heavier.

    Did you do anything like gels? how did you make the strobe match the sun? I always have this weird white flash look in my images :(

    • @KyleCongphoto
      @KyleCongphoto  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No I didn't use gel on any of these photos. You do need to match the color with the sun and sometimes gel is the only choice, but I found as long as I'm not shooting too close to the golden hours I'm fine without it.
