there's something i want to say (it's really crazy though...): remember how in S1 zuko had his hair in a ponytail? His scar was his most defining trait, clashing directly against his skin. that was when he was at his worst. then, in S2, he started to grow out his hair, adding dark elements to his face, thus allowing the scar to not be as noticeable. he trying to get better (by his ideals). finally, in S3, he completely grew out his hair, making the scar insignificant. that was when he was at the peak of his redemption. at one point in the show, he (and i'm just paraphrasing) said that he felt his scar is a reminder of his mistakes. what if the scar and hair symbolize his redemption? this is just a weird thing i noticed, you don't have to take it seriously. feel free to add on or correct me in any way!
