    The greatest thing is that not only do you help us understand such difficult concepts of anatomy, but you're also sharing us advice on life, social interactions, and confidence. I've always wanted to meet my professors in person and get to know the real side of them, and YOU are the giving us the opportunity to get to see what it's actually like to be an Anatomy teacher, along with all the obstacles that life gives us. Anatomy teachers are my absolute favorite - even though they're strict, they are doing that for a good reason: to motivate us to study even harder and prove that WE CAN DO IT. And they're always giving a chance to all the hard-working students, and they let us pass the exam, despite us not knowing maybe some of the tiny details, because they see that we've managed to learn the bigger picture, and that we've done it with love, and not just for the sake of passing the exam.
    Thank you for being so honest and genuine, and making us feel you both as a professor, and as a friend. And I got so sad when you said you are socially awkward, I was thinking 'How could such an amazing person with such a unique personality (consisting of kindness, care, generosity and a great sense of humor) actually be socially awkward?' I, along with all your fans and students, would LOVE to be your friends. Because YOU are a gift for all of us. Thank you for existing, and I wish you all the best for you and your family. Enjoy every aspect of your life and continue being the greatest teacher EVER!

      P.S. In another video you said that the process of making and editing videos is a bit frustrating, so here's a suggestion: Try making a video with no editing and no cuts, just a single shot. (It might be a bit longer, but that's not a problem.)
      Maybe that single-shot video could be about neuroanatomy? (Maybe there's something you've haven't covered up yet, maybe the cerebrum in more detail, and give us tips on how to understand it easier.) Thank you for reading all of this, sorry for the long comments.

    Thank you Sam✨I always look forward to your heart-warming, refreshingly authentic, inspiring content --in addition to the loads of valuable educational information that you "gift" to us here in TH-camLand. I just wanted to say that this video in particular was EXACTLY what I needed to see today to start my New Year in a more positive mind frame. Thank youuuu so much for your beautiful, scenic videography and for your honest reflection on the topic of regrets! It's something I've noticed has grown stronger in my own thought patterns especially as I get older (human nature, I guess) -and, it's the reason I'll be rewatching this video multiple times throughout the year = it's such a wonderful source of motivation! 🙋🏼‍♀️🙏🏻🌲

    We are all humans and have these regrets, unless we have a severe personality disorder.
    You are doing great!

    I read your description. Actually, regret is about the past and has no bearing on the future but rather it does have an affect on the present. It’s not something one feels until later on. Regrets are really about mistreatment, lies, abuse, hatred, and doing harm. But there will certainly be mistakes. How about this: I personally don’t have any regrets but this is what I want on my tombstone: “mistakes were made”. Maybe the message is there is a place of repose before our bones are in the ground. However true regrets should be ironed out and worked through well before that point, even if it is focused on doing so within one’s self. I am 70 and a regenerative physician. Appreciate your anatomy lessons - so good for all of us to better know our own bodies (as well as our minds).

      It's a learning experience...... We all second guess ourselves. Do we really know how it would have turned out?

    • @ToddDouglasFox
      @ToddDouglasFox 22 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      @ No, not all of us second guess. The gift I gave above to the channel has to do with ruminating. Clearly if one is going back over the day in one’s mind and can only recall the things that one “regrets” they have or have not done, and the person feels this is a trick being played on them, and that NONE of the good things come to mind, there is insecurity and likely anxiety. The gift Ryukoli is for you as well now that you’ve read and commented.

    Regret relates to the past, worry relates to the future. If you find yourself locked into either, turn your attention to the breath, as the breath can only happen in the present moment. Peace and be well.

    How interesting! Just now i was sent a peace from a holy book exactly about regret and looking back - advice was DO NOT! 😮 They wrote about an INSTRUCTION that apparently angels passed to Lot's family from G-d himself. You probably know the story, but explanation was exactly like yours - u can't change your past and also you just look into future with intension of better your mistakes. Also, Jesus is on your side from the start, they say. I hope really they r right and most of times, I am lucky enough even to feel it. Basically, coming back to regrets in general - we r instructed not to look back for the sake of the future.. Funny, though, they didn't say - forget about the past. So I try to forgive myself for whatever I messed about - and it is a lot of that, believe u me - and be my better version every day. If i draw my attention to be my better version NOW, there is not much time left to beat myself up. Ouch! That was painful 😂😂😂 Anyway, you are doing a great job!!!! Ever so grateful for your FANTASTIC videos! 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏

    You are fantastic in uncountable ways, and part of that is your self-awareness and your empathy. Thank you for sharing all of this. When does regretting become rumination?
    I wish you ALL the BEST for the new year, and look forward to many more opportunities to learn from you through your vlogs and anatomy teaching. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

    I do review regrets. I think of each decision or action as a spectrum of choices. One can go from wrong to right, or from suboptimal to optimal. Sometimes it is not possible to do what we think is right at the time, or maybe it was right at the time; but later we realize that it was wrong. Or vice versa. It can get quite complex. It is best to go easy on ourselves, recognize the decision point and the actions that followed, consider the results, short term and long, and then decide if one could do better next time. Chances are that in a few years we might see things differently anyway; or if not we may not be growing. We arm ourselves with the past, but the focus must be on the present. The future is not always in our hands.
