Fatima, you make me miss Cape Town. Not only for your wonderful Cape Town cuisine but mostly just for people like you. I grew up in Cape Town but am now living in Magoebaskloof in Norther Limpopo. Its wonderful here too BUT nothing can replace the humour of Cape Town. Be blessed in this new endeavour.
Hi Fatima, my mum taught me to throw the potatoes in first then salt it and then add the sausage later so that it doesn't over cook....and ofcoz some baked beans too....but everyone makes it different, I'm in jhb now and still cooks the way my mum showed me and the people here loves it, especially the Sunday koeksisters tradition.....I miss that. Thanks for bringing back my childhood memories.....now I can't wait to visit CPT again....

I was always put off by spending so much time in the kitchen to cook and would run to the nearest take aways for 'junk' food. Since watching ur channel I've been inspired to make the time, it really is like you say "Huiskos, there is nothing like it" and really good food takes a bit of time but it's worth it. Wow!!! Just wow. I made this dish, using your recipe, and it was beautiful.
The only different thing I did, was fry the sausage beforehand and then fried the onions and everything else in the oil.
