I love hearing Josh talk about drumming. We don't often get to hear about how passionate he is about it or his knowledge of it. Usually people ask about Tyler's songwriting, which of course is always an interesting topic, but it's just cool to see Josh's side of things a little more
My dad hadnt heard a single tøp song but still went to the concert with me. He didn't think he would like it but after he said, "They're really cool. Lil dude on the drums was killing it!" Now hes obsessed with Lane Boy and Stressed Out. I love Josh Dun.
Love him, and I understand that Stressed Out is currently really popular, but I do wish that they had shown him playing a more drum heavy song. Something like Lane Boy, to really show off his skills.
+Alexis Oliva I was referring to songs from Blurryface because it's their current album, and this was partially done to highlight their new music. Lane Boy has crazy awesome drumming at the end.
idk why, but he looks tired in this video and i really want to hug him. actually, they both look tired in recent interviews and im starting to worry about them
Josh basically taught me how to play drums, because I learned how to play exactly how he did, by listening to him every day figuring out what’s what and how to do it
basically it's come to the point where I know how he started playing and his drum set up at any given time, yet I've never touched a drum stick in my life. It's official. I'm Jishwa Dun trash.
For once I feel like I have some power as a drummer, which is not good. No one should give me any power at all, not that I'm bad. I just thought I'd never get power
I like listening to Josh talk about his passion, it's inspiring and he always seems to have such a great time playing drums, that can't help but feel happy watching it. You go, Jishua
I've been playing drums since right around age 7 or 8, before that I would go to my grandmothers house when my parents dropped me off of they had to work or couldn't find a sitter. we all know that grandma's let their grandchildren do what they want lol..if it wasn't for her I wouldn't be playing. she told my parents what I did or about what happened during the day so they bought me my first drum set when I was young. I taught myself until I was old enough to understand how drums actually worked. after all that I took lessons from a session drummer that played for Tom Petty, L.A. guns, Terry and the Lost boys, and a few other known bands or artists. at 16 I joined a performance band with moms music and we played shows all around Indiana and Kentucky. we went by the name dead by Friday night..so soon after that we split and the bassist knew a few guitar players who could also scream and sing. All of us wrote music and even lyrics and we booked our own shows so we were all broke pretty much but we were able to mow grass or little labor intensive jobs like gardening, or anything related to that as well as cleaning garages. we kinda gained a little popularity on Louisville mainly because Louisville has better venues and stuff. we got payed a few times for playing and our work money was combined so we could get a p.a. system and stuff. 10 original songs were made but eventually we all got too busy with real jobs and school. I played in a few other bands after but with no success. I think about it all the time and miss making music with everyone. I wish we all would've just slowed down rather than disband.
I'm sat here watching Josh talk about drums and I don't understand anything he's saying, I'm literally just here because it's Josh and I like his voice and he is the best drummer, help me.
josh dun really led me to fall in love with drummers, he's brilliant and helped me to discover what real great drumming sounds like, compared to average drummers covered up by guitar fuzz
hey zildjian. on your website and in the description of this video it says josh is using a 16" efx but in the video josh says he has a 18" efx sooooo wich one is it?
all these fucking people talking about josh being the best fucking drummer. like dude, this is the Zildjian channel. click on them and I promise you you'll find someone 100x better. this isn't about twenty one pilots it's about drumming.
+Roarasaur Have you seen him do Lane Boy live? This kid blows a lot of drummers out of the water, technically. Just because there are better drummers out there does mean he's not excellent at what he does. Stop being a downer and go enjoy music you actually like, and leave the rest of us to what we like. Geez man.
NathanDrums Dude, I never said he was the best. I said he was excellent at what he does. I also said that there are better drummers out there. But here's the thing, you don't have to be "the best" to be excellent at what you do. If you love what you are doing, and that passion comes through, then who gives a shit about "the best"? "The best" is subjective. You can look at someone who is "the best" in a technical way, but does that mean they are inspiring or interesting to listen to? Not always, and many times, not usually (though, this is a pretty general statement). One of the things that make musicians (not just drummers) speak to your soul is their style. You don't have to be "the best" or "the greatest" to do that. Generally speaking, it's the flaws that your soul recognizes and finds a reflection of itself.
Cool video, Josh is definitely my favorite drummer. I'm not too big a fan of the A Customs though. Little too bright and heavy for me. I love the K Series
LOOK AT THI S VIDEO WULITY IT LOOKS LIKE HE'S STARING STRAIGHTAT YOU IM SO !@!!!! I LOVE JOSH DUN O M CUH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I LOVE JOSH DOUM 1JWEOIUDC

I love hearing Josh talk about drumming. We don't often get to hear about how passionate he is about it or his knowledge of it. Usually people ask about Tyler's songwriting, which of course is always an interesting topic, but it's just cool to see Josh's side of things a little more
Yeah, seeing him play at his kit and realizing how complicated it is, and I get it, as both my father and my sister drum.
Right?
My dad hadnt heard a single tøp song but still went to the concert with me. He didn't think he would like it but after he said, "They're really cool. Lil dude on the drums was killing it!" Now hes obsessed with Lane Boy and Stressed Out. I love Josh Dun.
+Pollie Lolpl Your dad sounds cool
Yah my dad listens to old school rap so I was glad he liked it!
The first concert my dad went with me to was a tool like 2 years ago and now he's really into them.
+Pandie Prime a tool concert herp de derp

hes just simply my favorite person on this earth.
Love him, and I understand that Stressed Out is currently really popular, but I do wish that they had shown him playing a more drum heavy song. Something like Lane Boy, to really show off his skills.
I agree with you 100%
the first album drumming is pretty complex and why does mostly everyone.I know is surrounding blurryface
+RACHEL DEBOE I know that but he played most of the stuff live
+Alexis Oliva I was referring to songs from Blurryface because it's their current album, and this was partially done to highlight their new music. Lane Boy has crazy awesome drumming at the end.
I just suggested the first album dont get all mad about it
Josh is such an inspiration; keep hitting your drums as hard as possible man.
idk why, but he looks tired in this video and i really want to hug him.

Josh basically taught me how to play drums, because I learned how to play exactly how he did, by listening to him every day figuring out what’s what and how to do it
I love this, it was like watching Josh upload a drum cover for stressed out
basically it's come to the point where I know how he started playing and his drum set up at any given time, yet I've never touched a drum stick in my life. It's official. I'm Jishwa Dun trash.

He's so amazing ,he's made me want to learn drums
If Josh hadn't bought so many cds he could've bought a drum kit sooner. 😸
Haha that's so true tho
They couldn't show him playing a more drum based track or more technical song to show off his skills and cymbals?
I recommend you look it up for yourself :/ they used their most "popular" song at the moment, Stressed out.
My step dad done the same thing hadn't heard any of the songs but came with me now he loves lane boy and stressed out
josh dun really led me to fall in love with drummers, he's brilliant and helped me to discover what real great drumming sounds like, compared to average drummers covered up by guitar fuzz

Megan Noto he doesn't use his side snare during Stressed Out. If he was playing Ride, then yeah, why would he put it there.
