      If you have access to an N95 or N99 mask, that would be best for you to wear to protect yourself when you can tolerate it.

    I'm not sure who posted this. La Soufriere erupted on Friday and the ash has affected Barbados. The picture of Accra and the statement that there is no sand is erroneous. The ash is temporarily covering the sand and in a few days will disappear. Our greater concern should be for the people of St Vincent & the Grenadines whose entire country is being destroyed. When the ash stops falling, we in Bdos will clean up and get back to normal. This will not happen quickly in SVG. Let us remember them in our prayers and however we can help let us do so.

    • @noreenharewood8675
      @noreenharewood8675 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Our water supply is safely secured. However,our main source of supply is rainfall and this is the dry season so our reserves are a bit low. Nevertheless, most households in Barbados have full access to clean drinking water.

    My God! This has the potential to ruin an economy. If the ash tends to become cement, how on earth will your white sand beaches return? As far as you know, is this the case all over Barbados or just the western side?

    • @Venusstar22
      @Venusstar22 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The ash fall has completely covered the whole island. I just had the same thought about the white sandy beaches that once was, with the ash mixing in with the sand the beaches will no longer have the trademark clear sand.

    • @annmcb
      @annmcb 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@Venusstar22 so sad for B’dos, St. Lucia, and all the other islands affected by our volcano eruptions. I remember Barbados is a flat beautiful island so the ash will travel easily over the entire island. I heard in my spirit “sackcloth and ashes” and pray!

    • @noreenharewood8675
      @noreenharewood8675 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@annmcb you are very correct. I have been repenting on behalf of Barbados. People do not want to accept that judgement is at our door. Seems like we can't catch a break. Covid-19 did remarkable damage to our already fragile economy and now this. We need to turn out hearts to our creator 🙏🏾

    • @noreenharewood8675
      @noreenharewood8675 3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      There was an eruption in 1979 and Barbados was inundated with ash but it was of a different texture. The sandy Beaches did return after a while so this too shall pass. The situation is currently fluid but when it's all over things will return to normalcy.

    • @cecilbrisley5185
      @cecilbrisley5185 3 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      @@annmcb the volcano created the island. The ash from it has made its soil fertile. There is no judgement or supernatural element here. Just a volcano doing what volcanoes do. Live next to one and reap the benefits but also the downsides. A choice to live near a dangerous natural phenomena means that sometimes bad things will happen. If you closed your eyes and ran across the highway there is no judgement if a car hits you....just a predictable normal consequence.
