  • I'm on a 3 night solo ride around victoria. I'm trying out the instant Tent on this trip. I demonstrate set up and what it is like. This tent was never designed for extreme weather, this demonstration is only my personal experience. Some people say it is no good in the rain but i have had no problem on the many camp trips i've used it. I bought it simply for the ease of set up.

    I've bought the large size and was thinking it might be too big to carry on the bike but you've put my mind as ease, thanks for the review 👍

      Thank you , they do take a little more room which is to be expected. The magic is in how easy it is to set up.

      I bought the small one and it was far heavier than i expected, we'd certain need a vehicle or motorbike to carry it around.

    Good to see you out and about mate, testing new gear. I haven't heard the best things about these tents, BUT they look so god darn easy to set up... Stay upright bud!

    The tent leaks like a sieve. If you're going to use it in wet weather, it would be useful to (1) Seal the seams with a tent glue. There are plenty of TH-cam podcasts that show you how to do this. (2) Get Scotchguard for tents and treat all the surfaces, especially the bottom. Then, I will agree, this tent is fantastic.

      I've used it several times since this video in the rain and had no leaks.

      @@bazz6670 How much did Reactive Outdoor pay you to give this crappy tent a good review? These tents are garbage so I will not be subscribing to your YT Channel.

    In my case, I have the 3-man tent, it leaks rather badly in even light rain, the stakes are VERY flimsy and three legs/poles already broke by my third use! And the 30-day guarantee has expired and the company says “not our problem and good luck”!

      When did you get the tent? Since now they seem to advertise 1 year warranty and newer reviews seem more positive than old ones. Just wondering if they made some actual improvements or if they're somehow getting good tents to reviewers now.

      @@eerolz8758 in late November of 2023. FYI, all the stakes were not included with the tent, I wrote them within the warranty period but they never responded!

    Good solid review Bazz , can see the benefit arriving late into a camp site or weather closing in .
    Tent looked decent enough cheers Paul

    Just met a camper who had one, and asked about it, he said, not the best quality, my question is, what happen if you break a pole, can it be fixed, or buy a new one, since it all joined together.

    • @bazz6670
      @bazz6670  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes that could be a problem, haven't heard of spare parts. they are still pretty strong if treated rite. ive done several camping trips with it now without problems. i carry tape incase but like any tent things can brake. I really just love the ease of setting up when camping off the bike.

    You'll suffocate in this thing if you leave those doors closed to keep the water out.

    'Puddle alert !- Ive just bought the small sized one, and although workmanship is good, a major design flaw is that the top is not domed or even flat, but actually sags to form a "crater" or rain trap . Don't take my word for it, checkout some vids.
    The small "top cover" doesn't cover the whole crater, so any rain falling towards the outer edges of the crater will run inwards towards the centre and form a puddle which might then trickle down the centre spindle into the tent.
    I'll try making a bigger top cover myself out of spare waterproof material to cover the whole diameter of the crater which should solve the problem.

      Yea good idea, I think if I had to camp in wet weather with any small tent I would use a lite tarp over tent and out further for shelter to sit under outside. Sometimes we tie a tarp to both motorbikes to get shelter.

      @@bazz6670 Another thing- despite me buying the small size, it's still much too heavy for backpacking on foot, people would definitely need a vehicle or motorbike to lug it around..:)

    • @bazz6670
      @bazz6670  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @tungstenkid2271 way to bulky for hiking , it's funny how the smaller and lighter the tent the more expensive it becomes. Even motorcycle camping I try to go as light as possible, if you are in a car it doesn't matter.

      @@steventinsley5664It seems they made some improvements to the tent after the first wave of reviews. Older reviews all seem to call it crappy while newer ones like it. They also went from 30 day warranty to 1 year warranty/money back guarantee no questions asked.
      Hard to say, would be nice seeing some channel actually showing what changes was made.
