    The fact that the seller decided to 'take a bit of a loss because it's Seth Fowler' completely invalidates the whole transaction for me. People weren't happy about the trades for the exact same reason, and you tried to change that! But this on the final episode leaves a bit of a stink on it for me. The best thing about this series was that it was relatable - theoretically anyone with $20 could do what you were doing. This completely invalidates that. I guess that's just my opinion.

    It’s a bit surreal that this is done! What I’ve gathered from all the comments is that for season 2, most people want to see you build the collection in a way relatable to most (I.e not selling to people who know who Seth is) and sticking to the final goal (either build a collection, or stick to the planned grail)

    I'm pretty simple, my grails were the first two pair of Jordans I got as a kid in the early 90's. Black Metallic 5's and Bordeaux 7's. I bought and sold sneakers off SNKRS, FLX and going to the outlets here in Houston on lunch breaks and on the weekends. I used the profits to get retros of my original kicks. And I have a few more that are paid off from profits as well. Jordan 4 UNC's, Red Thunder 4's, Raging Bull 5's, Moonlight 5's, Playoff 12's, Patchwork 3's, Bordeaux 6's, Electric Green 6's, couple pair of 1's, Red Flint 13's, Blue Flint 13's, Flint 7's, and J's for my kids and wife too. But the pair was a grail for him. It definitely did feel cheap that he bought the final shoes from a friend for much less than he'd have to pay for resell, but he's been using his name to rush the series and get it done quickly, or faster than the average person trying this. But he compressed so much and used his name/position to keep the "weekly" aspects of the series going, and keep making content from it, as the average person might got on long dry runs and find nothing or stagnant on the overall progress of doin this. He did this in less than one year, doing this for the average person will definitely take longer.

You also need to consider that the final shoes he wanted came up for a too good to be true offer and he needed to liquidate his inventory to pay for the shoes, something like that might take longer to get a payout than he'd like, so its not a cheap thing to do, buying the the Dior 1 from his friend for a significant discount is definitely a cop out, but buying the shoes off himself is something he's done a few times during this series, he usually did it for cheapest price he could too.

    Seth I like you man but you are sending kids the wrong message with the way this was done. Selling sneakers is time consuming and more difficult than most think. Notice how half of everything was sold for a loss that you couldn’t move. Then certain things you can’t move or want to keep you’ll just randomly be like I purchased these from myself like no bro that’s not how that works lol. If you keep a shoe worth $2.8k you are out that much money. End of story. No one has an endless fund they can just pull from to pay themselves to keep a sneaker. As soon as you started doing all that combined with the Tradeblock bs this series lost all credibility. I’m not saying it wasn’t entertaining but the purpose of the series is to show kids that with just $20 they can grind and hustle to get a really dope collection. It started out that way but you slowly ruined it with all the nonsense to try and accelerate the series.

      I was really hyped about the series but you can tell he lost his passion for thrifting throughout the series. Everything was rushed and instead of being thrifted, most of the sneakers were traded or were from drops that were later sold.

    NGL it seems like you just wanted to end the project for awhile now first using trades to get deals, then just buying your own stock, to this a grail that was never the goal and a person giving a discount because its you. Was a really cool idea and inspiring with a meh of a end. Hopefully next time if their ever is a season 2 some rules to the challenge are laid out and a refinement of what you want from the project so the burnout isint as real.

  • @darrylking8577
    @darrylking8577 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Sorry Seth, this was a big let down. It's clear that you just wanted to get the series over with, which is perfectly fine. Mags are out of the question at those prices, so just sell off what you had for reasonable prices and tells us its done. It's not a failure because we're here for the journey, not the Mags. But the losses, the $3k discount, the yeezy purchase for yourself....it's just a let down. We've all loved this series, and have no problems with you just calling it quits. $8k in your pocket after starting with $20 would've been a beautiful end to an awesome series. That said, still a supporter, appreciate you listening to the fans throughout the series, and excited for what comes next.

    Maaaaaan this is such a disappointment. This is literally like watching a movie that you are really enjoying, just to have the last act wrap everything up in 5 minutes in a confusing and unfair way. This is literally season 8 of Game of Thrones. Selling a big money pair to yourself and having someone you know cut you a MAJOR deal just makes it seem like you didn’t want to continue on with this, and undermines the actual goal you were trying to set out on. Loved this series man, but you fumbled at the goal line.
