I love the series and I ser where Seth is coming from, but he should draw a line. It’s okay for him to get trades in his favor, sure. But trades like these are ridiculous and unrealistic. Takes away from the excitement.
For real, every fair trade I offer on Tradeblock gets declined. Unless it’s at least $100 in the other persons favor they just decline it. It undermines the whole concept. Also, keep in mind, this dude is rich. So he’s a rich guy doing trades where he comes out on top cuz of his influence. And who likes to see that? Lol

Seth, from an avid sneaker-head/lover of this series I'm going to be honest: It doesn't seem like you want to do this series anymore. For the last few weeks it seems like you've been more focused on getting to the end than enjoying the journey of getting these sneakers. From my perspective, the addition of whatnot and ridiculous trade block trades tarnish and take away from this journey. As a viewer I just want to tell you that what made us excited was not only your excitement and passion for getting new/varied shoes but also being able to see ourselves as viewers on this same journey.
I recommend that if you actually want to get to the end of this journey with satisfied viewers, an epic series, and a pair of Nike Air MAGs you NEED to innovate. Find new ways of getting sneakers, change up the pace, go back to the start, look for new stores, talk to new people, DO SOMETHING NEW. In my brutally honest opinion I can see the spark leaving your eyes with this series. I absolutely appreciate the effort you've put into this series and the effort you put into this channel. Although if you want this series to succeed, something needs to change. Sincerely, a very dear fan of yours.

While I think that whatever seth is doing is fair game, I do understand your sentiment that it is not as exciting as it was. And the reason why I feel this way is because, I don't really relate to the idea of trading.
But it is still considered to be a viable way to grind for sneakers. So perhaps we just want him to succeed the way we want to instead of him succeeding in his own terms.
I actually want him to reach his goal of getting Mags asap because after he’s done he can focus on trying to get another pair of shoes and can make it interesting by not announcing what he’s going for.

Love this series Seth, but I think you gotta let the Mags go. The reason I was so drawn to this series was the idea of building up a sneaker collection that you love from scratch using methods anyone can use and it's slowly turned into you knowingly cheating yourself to reach the mags goal. I love the clips of you showing off the sneaker collection and how far you've progressed while bringing us along, and thinking that it will all be traded away in one-sided trades throws away the connection we all have with these sneakers and how you got them. The Kaws 4's are clearly a shoe that you want to keep in your collection and I think that's what this series was originally all about and I'd love to see you keep them in the 20$ sneaker collection forever, rather than throw a shoe you love away for a clickbaity pair of air mags. I still love this series but something has definitely been lost recently and I think it's your devotion to those air mags causing it, which have forced you to bend your own rules in order to get them. Thanks for keeping this series going and look forward to next weeks episode!!

I agree that letting great shoes go just for a few extra dollars sucks! I think that he doesn't care about the "20.00 collection" but we all do because we don't have two separate collections. I don't think the end goal of the mags is an issue, but something is recently off. Maybe his love for the videos? I think the thrifting was fun and exciting.... maybe a week trip to some other cities could revive.

@@nicolasvitale4071 i also don't mind the trade block, but I think if it was more realistic of what the normal persons trades would look like it would be better... also its just turned into a trading show, like.... okay cool but the hunt of finding treasures was so exciting.... id like to see half the episode about trades and half about the hunt for treasures even if it is a fail on finding stuff, like that's life..... show us the local Facebook marketplace, show us all your local thrift stores.... there absolutely have to be thrift stores besides the same 2 every show! make a day trip... d.c is 2 and half to-3 hours away from Philly.... I lived there and there a huge thrift store right outside the base there that people who are leaving the area have to get rid of weight for their moves and they let go of a lot of treasures..... there is also a nice nike clearance center not a factory store but more like returns and nike Id items (test market) there has to be something except this trade block 20.00 fund.

Anyone losing interest on this shows when tradeblock and whatnot is involve. Because let be honest, unless you're famous like seth, you wouldn't get anywhere near he's getting. I fell in love in this show is because the romance that anyone cn do this with just 20 bucks

Crazy too because where he lives (Philly area) is like high in size 10-12 resellers because I resell shoes and always get sales in that range
I also think its weird he thinks that. I don't know anybody his shoe size. I think he says that, but hes unaware that his shoe size is less common. Anything below a 13 isn't hard to sell.
You should consider making an anonymous tradeblock account that you don’t show off to minimise people giving bias deals

Quick Tip: whenever you buy a used pair of shoes that have a foam midsole you can use a heat gun/hairdryer to remove the creases

For the past years I have been following and unfollowing sneaker youtubers, but Seth is someone I can’t stop watching for his personality, (very) good ideas and video quality!
About the $20 Series:
I watched Harrison Nevel’s series so I don’t get bothered by the “crazy trades”, but I think the trades in general are blinding the real growth. Even though you are trading for more expensive sneakers, you still “locked” with sneakers, and not $ fund. I feel like if you had it in cash, the series progress would be way more visible and valuable, and we can’t forget that sneaker prices may change a lot.
About the MAGs, ok, they’re nice shoes… But is there such a HUGE fan of Back to the Future? The main point of them are being overpriced and hyped for that exclusivity. I don’t see Seth as a hypebeast.. I understand the need to set a goal, to set a motivation to the series, but how useful would be that sneaker? Seth seems to be so happy with the Kaws and the unexpected finds at the stores. I believe that a shoe collection - that you can actually wear - would be more accomplishing than a “sneaker trophy” sitting in the background.
Something that I would like personally is a “One-of-Each” Collection: To have one pair (your favorite, the OG.. you can set up your own criterion) of each model. One Yeezy 350 V1, V2, 700 V1…. Jordan 1, 2, 3…. and so it goes.

I too am loosing interest on this series. At first I was really motivated to replicate this challenge, however recent episodes really crushed that motivation. It'd be impossible for a normal person like me to do the same cuz it seems that Seth is using his "influencer" status to get these ridiculous sells and trades. I hope you are really reading these comments Seth.

I traded my red thunders for a pair off white converse. Both ds so glad I got the thunders. And you can definitely trade up on trade block. I’ve done patta reds for championship dunks. The. Lightnings for lightly used royal toes. So just find the right people

I know New balance had a hell of a year and are super comfortable. But as a sneaker enthusiasts I just can't see many ppl paying 500-700 dollars for a New balance. Maybe a Jordan or Yeezy but not New balance lol
NB is going to take a huge market share soon. Jordan and Yeezy are both more urban brands and sell better to certain people than others. New balance has a different demographic of people that will buy it. A white dude from Nebraska or my dad will look like a clown wearing a pair of Jordan fives but new New Balances look good on anybody. As more and more people start to getting sneaker fashion NB will exceptionally grow because it has more people to sell to than Jordan.

I saw all the series from Ep1, I use to wait for it every week but It's not as fun as it used to be... seems that now you can buy any old and ugly shoe at Plato's and one fan will do a ridiculous trade on tradeblock just to support the series and recieve your appreciation.

I usually never comment on concerns but I’m genuinely loosing interest in the series through two now key aspects in this series. The first thing is the entire concept of selling on Whatnot let’s be honest here if it were anyone else who isn’t an influencer no one would ever be able to consistently sell pairs of shoes or get these prices either. The second aspect is Tradeblock no one in their right mind would be making these trades with an ordinary person but of course it’s Seth Fowler either staff at Tradeblock wants to show off their application in a fashionable manner or someone wants to be a part of the series. The reason that I’m losing interest is that it’s loosing the core essence of the series in which its suppose to emulate that anyone can do this and with hustle and grit can obtain their very own grails.

I really love the series but these trades kinda ruin it for me. It's almost like people donate you money to buy the mags. I get it. You do it for the progress but i feel like that takes away the whole point of the series.

I still love the series. It's my favorite youtube video every week. But I think the idea of building a collection full of varied, cool sneakers is so much better than the MAGs. At this point, how many grails have you gotten? You would have an incredible collection. I know it sucks to give up on the middle of something, but if you changed the goal from "GET MAGs" to "GET TO 100 SNEAKERS I LOVE" I feel like you would have more fun.

I honestly think the usage of trading and trade block is taking the magic out of this series. I loved when the sneaker collection fund would hit $1000 or once even $2000 but now it's so low because all we wait for is the next trade. We don't connect with or see the actual growth. Instead of getting $20,000 mags we should be going for a $20,000 sneaker collection! This means we can keep the sneakers you clearly want to keep and the sneaker collection fund can actually keep growing or at least fewer trades.
